I thought I read somewhere that you can get a cover for the glass roof. Hmm.

I had a good look at 09 pics today.
Why would Honda want to give it a mini-van look?
I can't figure this out. Maybe its one of the see it in person things.

Unfortunately, many people describe the current Fit as a mini-minivan as well.

If you think about it though, a hatchback/wagon such as the Fit which is designed from the inside out to create remarkable interior space and versatility will inherantly take the shape of a minivan which tries to accomplish those same things.

The one for U.S. 2009 may not be the Fit model from what I read.

The outside looks good, especially the JDM version without our huge bumpers. The interior does not look like an improvement though. It seems like it's been affected by the same problem afflicting the Civic and many other new cars. They just messed with the interior for the sake of making it "different" and wound up with something a little bizarre instead of attractive or useful. I might envy the i-VTEC motor or more MPG but the dashboard looks like doo-doo to me.

I'll be suprised if the glassroof does not have a sunshade. Honda offer a fixed glassroof as standard on the Euro Civic ES (option on EX) over here with electrically operated sunshade.

Well, it's just my opinion of course. I don't care for the steering wheel design on the '09, the dashboard looks less symmetrical to me and I don't like the way they did the gauges.

My tastes tend towards clean, simple lines and things that flow. The '09 looks to me like they are trying to compete with Scion for dashboard weirdness. I really don't care for the new Civic with its two tiered Buck Rogers style dashboard either.

I don't see a lot of room for improvement on the current Fit's dashboard. Sure, update it a bit and add features but just slapping a stupid looking steering wheel on and odd mishapen interior cues doesn't seem like progress to me. The plastics looks shiny too, not a fan of glossy plastics either.

Thats great that it has a navigation system. I was talking about everything else though. The design of the dashboard, not whether or not it has a $3000 optional navigation system or map lights.

These two numbers seem strange. I thought that the width of the 2009 model was ~0.8 inches wider, not 3 inches narrower. Also 14.2 cubic feet would be ~7 cubic feet less than the 2008 model (21.2 cubic feet). Lastly, does anyone know if a spare tire is included?

It's where the MP3 connection is located, you can put your mp3 player in there and I guess also use the extra little space. I think everything about this car is neat. Any 07-08 owners think it looks like a minivan, I completely agree, but also agree that the 07-08s are just as bad as well. It makes me happy when more and more people don't like the car though, that means less worry about thieves. I love the look of the new fit, exterior and interior, and i-VTEC making a few more horses and better MPG. I think Honda did a good job. Can't wait till it's out.

As far as the interior goes 07/08 vs the 09 it's really about opinion. Personally I hate that new steering wheel. I just don't like the lines on it. Yes it does have a few function buttons that the 07/08 doesn't have but I just don't like it. If they kept the 07/08 steering wheel and added other features I would appreciate the 09 better.

Call me old skool or whatever but the navi-screen is whatever to me. Not only would I rock an ipod, but for those of us that have tons and I mean tons of CDs bought and put together, I for one would like to see what the 09 looks like without the navi-system. All these pictures and you're telling me that the 09 only comes with a navi-system and not a CD player??

The position of the climate knobs on the dashboard of the 09 look a little awkward. I like the 3 knobs on the bottom of the CD player on the 07/08 better. The hazzard circular button on the 09 looks a bit weird and just floating there underneath the vent and just to the left of the navi-system (did I mention I'd like to see the CD player LOL).

The i-vtec and a couple HP more seems inticing enough, the new seats look better (material is supposedly better). BUT i don't see a center console. So the 09 has a dead pedal but no center console?

I don't even care that it looks more like a mini-van than the 07/08. They both do since they're both hatchback mini-wagons.

The exterior front lights are ok. the front side fenders and back hatch are hideous. Someone on here mentioned that if they could put the seats of the 09 into an 08 they would. Well I'd be so inclined to do so if and when that is confirmed. But the 09 just has that hint of Odessy to it.

The instrument panel looks ok on the 09. No complaints on it.

I've showed the two versions of the FIT to my friends and family and asked them their opinion. All of them are in favor of the 07/08 FIT vs the 09 as far as looks are concerned. Only my father liked the 09s hatch area better than the 07/08 but he liked the 07/08 front end better than the 09.

Bottom line to me, I'm close to getting the 08 Fit Sport before I'm too late and get stuck on having to buy a Scion or Toyota b/c I don't like the 09 Fit LOL!!

Just my thoughts on this on going subject!

peace,
