@steve37: That's a cutie.
Can you give us a list of the maintenance/repairs that you have done over the years?
Thanks! I bought the car four years ago with 130K miles for $4500. At that time, I was just looking at it lasting for a year or so. It's really surprised me how reliable it has been.
Air cond clutch went out last summer and the serp belt broke shortly after. Back brakes were rebuilt two years ago. Other than that, I just change the oil at 20% every time.
Now with 235K miles...I'm planning on a quarter million party soon!
Including a couple interior pics and one of it parked behind her older big brother. (98 Prelude)
Hi guys! My 09 Fit base has just hit its 355000 km. It's around 220000 miles if I'm right. So far the car had 340000 when I buy it. The motor and transmission were changed a couple months before I acquired the car and they have done 230000 km so far. The shocks absorbers were changed recently on the back and I have changed a tie rod end also. The battery died during the winter so I had it changed also. This car is running smooth and is very good on gas. I hope it will stay that way for longtime cause I really like it!
2009 2nd gen manual Sport here. I bought 2 years ago with 152K on it for 5k. Had to replace the shocks and control arms and sway bar links (since po let the shocks go too long). Just drive it to work and back normally so just 3K miles the last 2 years. Added tires, speakers, arm rest (love it), dynamat. Just charged the a/c myself. Added high mileage synthetic. Other than that nothing.
But I had to post because I just took the little girl on a 2,000 mile road trip in the Southwest in 10 days (to go help my ma too). I was nervous but she ran like a champ! It is posted 75 mph out there so I ran 77-79 for 6+ hours a day - 250-390 miles. This put me at 3600 to 3800 RPM usually. She actually loved it. There were a lot of hill climbs that I had to downshift to 4 and such but I still got 39+ mpg when not running a/c and 38 ish with. When I pushed closer to 80 and ac up still got at least 37.5 mpg. One thing that did help this, and being able to run smooth at 77+, was running premium gas. Really ran smooth on it and not $ out there. With my fuel points discount I may just run premium all the time now since it is so smooth.
Yes it is not the best highway car (armrest helps) (but excellent city car) but I was very impressed a car with 155K+ miles on it purred like a kitten for 2,000 miles at high speed. I was worried about the high rpm but this is basically a motorcycle engine and it loves higher revs.
Near Alamoa, CO and Great Sand Dunes National Park. Her name is Honcho.
2009 Honda fit sport manual 219K miles. Hope to put another 200K. Engine has good compression and burns very little oil. I changed the AC once, brake pads once (ceramic ones but a bit squeaky), shocks (front and back because I tow a trailer) and general maintenance. I use Amsoil one oil change a year or 25k miles with oversized fully synthetic filter. I need to take it to the mechanic as front axle makes noise and clutch is making noise.
My car is a 2013 Base w/ 5 speed stick. Looks just like yours. Live in Phoenix, so well know the 75 MPH speed limit on interstate (which is a joke. Everyone drives 85). I've gone back & forth between Phx and Tucson & get around 37 MPG w/ A/C on. Sometimes drive north to Flagstaff. That is how you can tell how much power the car has. Phx is 1300' altitude & Flagstaff is 7000'. Lots of time I have to downshift from 5th to 4th, but I still make it up the grades OK. Have over 92,000 miles on the car now.
211247 miles on my 2011 fit but i think its toast as it has a misfire on clynder 4
Did you look into why it has a misfire? Have you swapped coilpacks between cylinder four and another to see if the misfire swaps between cylinders with it?
My GE8 my 161,906 miles on her, I have to change her oil every 4k miles and I have adjusted her lifters once. I've also flushed and filled her transmission (5 speed manual), I flushed and filled the cooling system, changed the thermostat, changed serpentine belt and wiper blades. Its almost time for new tires, but I am going bigger to match my lift. I lifted her front using 3" spring boosters (from AutoZone) and her rear using Insight rear coil springs and 2" spring boosters for a total of 2.15" of lift. My plan is to buy 225/70R15 all terrain tires to put on a new set of wheels that I acquired (15x7 4x100 +22) and then some of those fender flares you see on civics.
2010 Fit Sport with 103K miles. Bought it with 76K and have added a 51R battery, ceramic tint..........auto tranny drain and fill to come soon along with higher performance brakes, Bilstein Coilovers, and some A4 Corbeaus. Many more mods to come !
A lot of MT transmission ones, mine is a 09 LX AT, with 155.000 miles, regular maintanence, oil changes, transmission oil changes, had do the primary O2 recently, got a OEM part. Just think the transmission is starting to go, on the higway over 60mph its just a dog to drive, slow as hell, barely can get it to 90mph and on harsh accelerations sometimes it just doesnt want to downshift.
Maintenance: synthetic oil every 5-6K miles, changed thermostat and hoses, radiator cap, coolant, brake fluid, clutch fluid, air filter. Put a set of front brake rotors due to OEM warping. But still on original front brake pads.
Second set of tires, Hankook ventus v2.
Getting 41-42 mpg according to the dash meter. Love the car. Looks like new.
