American Honda has just announced it's monthly sales figures for May. The announcement includes a statement about the 2015 Fit showing up next week.


"With spring finally in full force across the country, Accord, Civic and CR-V are really starting to bloom," said Jeff Conrad, Honda division senior vice president and general manager. "With our three core models out-selling some entire brands and the all-new Fit starting to hit the ground next week, our dealers are preparing for heavy customer traffic in the coming months."

A Crystal Black EX with vin 3HGGK5H85FM711331 just showed up on the list but it is a CVT. It is destined for Cincinnati Ohio, I have them on the list to call me if they get a fit on the lot. Also have 2 other dealers nearby and one in Fort Wayne Indiana with standing requests to notify me once one appears.

 

Keep in mind a serial number like that would have been manufactured, just this week. So such a car is at least 6 weeks away from showing up at a dealer. Just because of the logistics of transport. The cars do not make their way from the factory straight to the dealers. They go, from factory to train to Port to boat to US distribution location to truck to dealer and there can be a week or more delay at each exchange point.

 

I was just noting the vin number and was surprised it was being delivered near me. I already have my vin 001832, hopefully it will be on the first truck

I have already checked it out and drove it...all I can say is WOW, what an improvement!!! There is no other car in its class that is anything like it. No doubt these cars will fly out of the showroom as fast as we get them. Honda expects to sell over 70,000 of them this model year...up from 40,000!!!

Nice to hear that a dealer has planned an intro party, but we saw a Boston Dealer plan and publicize a similar event for May 9, that did not take place.

Also I will correct the sales person's error in the prior years sales number of fits.

I don't understand why the release date is on a Sunday, or why all of my "estimated" shipping dates were on a Sunday.

My dealer is closed Sunday! I'm sure many others are too. It really sucks because I have to work Monday-Friday :s

 

I shopped for my wives Elantra at Rick Case. One thing I can say about them is if there is any chance that they can take advantage of you by charging more for a new, in demand vehicle they will. I didn't like them at all. But that probably won't stop me from taking a peak at the new fit there if they get it first.

 

The 15th is Fathers Day...any connection, or just a coincidence?

 

Probably just a coincidence. I'm sure they want to roll it out as soon as they can. Although it is hard to imagine that it wouldn't be in the showroom that Saturday as well. Either way not a big deal.

 

Your probably right...I'll be on the Island next Saturday, so I will have to keep my eyes open and see if they came in......Thanks

Yes, I would like to see the new fit. Is it going to arrive on your lot exactly on the 15th? Or will it be possible to see it before the 15th?

 

I can confirm that Rice Case Honda in South Fl. Is not the place you want to buy your new Honda. When purchasing my 13 Ridgeline the scum manager gave me a "discount" based on a magically inflated MSRP.... on a Ridgline no less, which he should have been happy to have interest in. I purchased eventually from a dealer in Palm Beach off Blue Heron. Excellent no BS pricing on the web. I tortured that salesman for days after and even sent him a pic of my Ridgeline in my driveway. If I can steer one sale towards another dealer with this true experience, my job is done!! Thanks Burt and Jamies at Ed Morse!

 

Anewfit, thanks for the warning. I am checking with random dealers in my area just for a sense of when the car will start to arrive on dealers lots. Before I buy I will go to at least seven dealers and will only take the best deal with someone I feel comfortable doing business with.
