Thanks for the info on Falken.

Hopefully you were not injured and the 2020 FIT held up well in the crash that totaled the car!

I wish I could install and balance my own tires--that would be the best!

Yes, it was nice when I was doing that, but for some reason, the Fit tires wouldn't cooperate. After doing it a couple of times, I sold the equipment, rather than damage the wheels. Both cars are set with summer and winter tires, so we won't be buying for a while. Blizzaks are great for snow.

Discount Tire.

One of my Yokohama Avid Ascend GT tires got a nail in it.

Had it replaced with a Yokohama GTX.

The nail was near the sidewall. No plug or patch possible.

That happened with my son's Fit - damaged sidewall.

Why did you go with the GTX and what's the difference between the two?

According to Discount Tire apparently not much difference other than the name.

Tires have gotten ridiculously expensive. If you buy them mail-order, you have to pay to have them installed. I used to install my own, but I found the Fit tires very difficult to work with, for some reason, so I sold my tire-changing equipment. I have them installed locally now,

Changed spark plugs @ 163k miles

Never changed them myself, had a shop do it @ 80k. Used the oem NGK's both times. I had a thin walled 14mm deep socket, not a spark plug socket, so I had to think how to actually get them out. Ended up using the ignition coil to pull the old ones out. I couldn't use the coils to put the new ones in, so I used a drinking tube from an old hiking backpack I never used, fit over them, tightened it slightly, and pulled the tube off. Tightened them and they haven't shot out the hood yet 👍🏻

Also changed oil. Sprayed crc valve cleaner, I should probably do that every oil change from now on. It idles a lot more smoothly.

Pic of the old spark plugs too, what do you all think?

LED Lights.

Got a pair of unknown named LED Lights.
Paid 123 dollars for the pair.

I have no DRL's with these LED Lights unfortunately.

But the lights look alot brighter than the PIAA Extreme White lights I had before.

Hopefully these LED lights last a long time.

LED Lights Update.

The lights appear to be from Ledo Lights. The lights install like regular Halogen lights like the Sylvania Silverstars from Autozone. The lights have the typical LED chip on the light itself. There is no fan or extra wiring on these Ledo lights.

The beam pattern is focused down on the road at regular driving. No worries about blinding oncoming cars going the opposite direction.

Regular night time driving lights.

Daytime running lights.

Nice! I eventually figured out why so many cars with LED headlights have them turned on during the day. They are also their DRL. I'd be concerned about them wearing out - $$$ - too soon.
