Not as exciting as @Krispy incredible under-body LED Lights Installation (above) (I would like to have on my FIT) but I installed a new Honda Engine Air Filter this weekend and cleaned out the housing and hose connections before putting the new one in.

Should replaced your air filter with a K&N air filter.
I replaced the grille and bumper on my Helios Yellow Pearl GK Sport. Some time this year they finally started selling cheap eBay alternatives for the grille. 14-16 model options have been available, I would know I have one collecting dust which left me without a replacement for a while, but 17-20 options only started being produced recently from what I can tell. Looks great and was a fifth of the price of the OEM alternative. The sport splitter uninstalled and reinstalled nicely.
On the topic of K&N filters I can vouch I have the set. Takes a disposable item and makes it serviceable, and as a fuel efficient vehicle driver: reduce & reuse right? Anyways it was nice going from a dirty filter to a K&N one. Revs fell and climbed much quicker in my manual. I’ve actually been coming up on needing to wash mine does anybody DIY their cleaning solution? I was thinking dawn & a scent free detergent…

One thing I have heard over and over again is not to use dish detergent. Splurge and buy a bottle of commercial car wash - any of the name brands.
Oh I meant cleaning the engine and cabin air filters. K&N sells a solution which is supposedly made up of a detergent because it’s made of fabric and a degreaser, hence the dawn, for the oil they come sprayed with to better catch dust and moisture.

Ah, yes! That should be fine. Dawn is a great product.
Tuesday, registered my 2016 LX, installed a heavy duty cargo area floor, previous cloth and board one was torn up a bit. Awaiting front wheel mudguards.
Just finished a new starter install (Amazon part- Hope it lasts) and a bigger 51R battery with the tray mod. Starter was a proper b!tch to get in ! Starts like a race car now.

The Honda Dealer replaced the starter on my 2015 FIT at 89K miles Feb 2024 under an extended warranty I purchased in 2023. The extended warranty company paid $635.00 and I paid $100 deduct for parts and labor=Total $735.00
Okay, I have everyone beat for spending the most $$$$ on my 2015 FIT EX-L this year--maybe anyone ever on a FIT?
Unfortunately last month, my FIT with 93K miles on it --CVT Transmission just stopped working when driving through a shopping center parking lot 50 miles from home.
The engine started revving in drive and reverse and sport mode with no power to the wheels like as if you had it in neutral.
Had it towed to the Honda Dealer that has been servicing the car for 9+ years.
Transmission fluid service at 46K and 78K.
Upon examination they found metal shards in the transmission fluid, no leaks in the casing, no other indications of problems.
They said the CVT was a sealed unit that is not serviceable.
They said Honda does not manufacture brand new FIT CVT Transmissions anymore.
What Honda does is they re-manufacture the transmission in the old casing and stock them at their warehouse near their headquarters in Torrance, CA
The dealer said Honda will not give the dealers one of these transmissions unless the dealer agrees to return the failed transmission because they reuse the casing--Honda takes a refundable deposit from the dealer.
Total cost of the replacement was $6112.00 with parts and labor using a California Honda Union Labor rate @ Approx. $210 per hour the service advisor said.
The extended warranty company paid it all except my $100.00 deduct.
Posted here are the details of the repair.
Somehow I expected the transmission on this vehicle to last at least 150K miles?
Seems like it died too soon even with regular maintenance?
