why would the CEL turn on if the turbo kit is installed? will it damage the engine in the long run?

Turbo is the only way to go Forced Induction.....creates the most amount of power.....superchargers have always been trying to catch up....it will never happen....my 2 cents.
Nice numbers!

Yeah I really wanted a turbo setup, but I just didn't want to deal with it. The sc kit is going to be tough enough for me as a first project... maybe next time! lol
I love the sounds of a turbo setup.

i think thats kinda narrow-minded....especially since your statement only really applies to superchargers of the past.

take a look at the rotrex, you'd be suprised.

I don't think so.....as stated my 2 cents. No doubt the Rotrex is a really nice setup....didn't mean to rub you the wrong way about my stance on FI....this is a turbo thread.

no you didn't man! not at all, i was just pointing out that your comment is typcial of things said about traditional superchargers...something that is addressed by the rotrex. so far, its been able to put down the same, if not better numbers, than comparable turbo kits. but i'm a fan of turbos too, hence why i frequent these threads.

in the end, its what works out best for each individual person.

HI everyone. I own a 08 fit sport and i have been reading alot of the threads here to get an idea of whats being done and i just wanted to say all of you have been very helpful! so i finally decided to join and start asking questions.

Uh i have been looking at this T1R kit for a while now and i figure i will end up getting it eventually i just wanted to know if anyone has strengthened up the internals in their engine in addition to using the kit. I mean honestly i think i will be fine using the preset boost and my axleback exhaust. but i was just wondering if anyone has pushed the boost higher than 6-8.

oh and Blue Cell, I like the look of ur FIT and i watched that video on youtube, which i thought was good even with the sound quality being a little subpar. It still sounded like it would decimate mine!
And.. have you done a quarter mile test yet? has anyone?

Thank you all again!

From what I have seen being done..you can boost on stock internals up to about 15psi with good tuning. Skunk2 was messing around and the fit didnt blow til it hit 21psi.

I haven't done any track tests yet. It's definately fun. I beat a VW Jetta for fun yesterday. I slowed down after I knew I can pass him.

was it a newer 2.5 jetta? were the taillights red like ours or a much darker shade of red? (this differentiates the 150 and newer 170hp versions, and i had a 07 vw rabbit with the 150hp engine and it pulled very nicely, and i'd like to be a bit quicker than that.)

So Has Anyone Learned anything about the CEL and how to get it to turn off? or about this emission passable cat?
Any opinions on what else should maybe be bought with the kit? like a turbo timer or something?
