Words been around that Mobil 1 isn't too fond for Hondas?

From my 1 year of using fully synthetic, it burns kinda fast. Pitch black every 3k-4k miles.

Really? I spoke with Ben @ AJ-R and he never said anything about an AFR gauge.

He just recommended Oil/Water Temp, and Boost.

I didn't get an AFR gauge.. is it really a necessity?

If so, which one should I get? and where is the best place to get one?

Yes those would be necessity too. But yea air/fuel is good to have because you want to know how much fuel is being put in your engine. If too lean or too rich, you're gonna blow.

Hmmm... but if I do not add any boost I shouldn't need any additional tuning correct? So if I stay with the 6psi that Ben sets it at, should I not be ok?

Would I get a CEL before I explode?? I just didn't budget in a $300 gauge!

Now I'm a little concerned...

You don't have to buy $300 dollar gauges, I just do for looks. They work well yea but you can always get cheaper gauges like ac autotechnics, autometer etc.

I actually bought Prosport gauges. But the only wideband A/F gauges I've seen for sale are all around $300... or can I just get a normal A/F gauge and not a wideband?

Seems to me the wideband ones are the $300 ones.

This is a the prosport version. Its a narrow band, not wideband. Would this be better than nothing? or is it pointless and I need to get a wideband one?

Amber/white Air Fuel Ratio Gauge

narrowband a/f gauges are just a light show man I`ve had both narrowband and wideband in the past and you can`t even compare them.

If you plan to stay turbo for a long time and want to really properly monitor your engine you need a boost gauge, a wideband and probably an oil temp gauge to make sure the engine and turbo are getting adequate pressure.

with that said the only one I would REALLY recommend getting is a boost gauge. If the fuel and timing management on your kit is decent it should work for a long time without ever giving you any other hassle

Buy a wideband. Its a must. And seeing and hearing the T1R's kit runs around 13.0 AFR's Id highly suggest it. Thats really lean for a car with boost. Even on low boost.

No you wont get a CEL before the motor blows.

The main reason why I suggest a wideband is any kind of weather changes the AFR's of a car with FI. Moisture, cold, hot, all that can add or take away 1.0 AFR from the cars normal AFR's.

Damn man... Thats pretty shitty. IDK about the 175whp either anymore. Seems like his dyno was out of calibration. Probably why it broke.
If it was even broke. :-/

Im really interested in your dyno numbers and those AFR's.
I want AFR's before and after man. PLEASE!

I put in the t1r kit and my car wont start. the engine rolls over and tries to start but it seems like its the ingnition. I was using the stock spark plugs regapped.
I was wondering if anyone knew what the heat range is on spark plugs for the fit cuz i'm just gonna buy new plugs, or maybe just an opinion on whether to run hotter or colder plugs.
