KWSC Kit Release Ramblings
Just picked up my KWSC!!! ^_^ Digging out the stock header til the reflash package ships, and debating whether or not to install today. Would be a sight at the autoX tomorrow in Jacksonville, so I'm surely tempted.
price for the SC? Kraftwerks USA Products - it's all there
the belt is on. just needed another set of hands. the automatic belt tensioner is VERY HARD to pry up. i had to put a breaker bar from underneath and with both hands pry up while my buddy slid the belt on over the water pump. the hard part is done. the sc is fully bolted up. no brake line clearance isues.
The upgraded injectors are in as well. that was a royal pain in the ass to install. if anyone is putting them in i found it easier to install them into the manifold first and then put the fuel rail over them and gently rock back and forth. then put the clips on. the old fuel rail studs needed to come out. i used a monkey wrench and turned them loose then installed the new ones.
if you are not putting the injectors in you will still have to take out the manifold to access the alternator bolt that holds it in place.
all i have left to do is install the oil cooler and run the piping.
as for the fact that i have a m/t kit...i was purchasing a m/t had my deposit down and was supposed to pick it up last week. got to the dealer and found out that they had let someone drive it and it came back damaged. so i got my money back. i might get one down the road or i have been considering swapping trannies. i know someone that has a spare manual trans and axles.
But that is my business and if i wanted it known I WOULD HAVE POSTED IT. So keep your comments to yourself (you know who you are).
anyway hopefully i will finish up tomorrow morning. i figure i have another 4-5 hours worth of work. so far i have spent 12 hours on it. was able to do everything myself except the belt of course...in case anyone was wondering how much time has elapsed.

Installing Illusives kit since 7:30 am this morning. Aside from the brake lines and that a/c line I think everything is fairly easy and straight forward. Leonine is right you need 2 people for that belt but I found that by putting a 19 mm socket at the end of my crank pulley bolt I had enough leverage to get the tensioner up with a pry bar.
We also put in about 12 hours but all that is left for us is the last vacuum hose between the breather tube and the intake pipe as well the supercard.
The kit did not come with injector clips for the upgrade so we had to remove the t1r header
Also the kit is missing some 3/8 inch hose from the intake pipe to the breather hose so we will need to get that tomorrow.
I can understand that we are pioneering this install but it was a bit frustrating to have a few missing pieces.
Anyone doing this will find that the clearances are very tight pretty much everywhere but it is very well made and the quality of everything provided is great.
We will finish tomorrow or Monday as it's a long weekend for us in Canada.
Will have a full report and pics once it's all on there!
