it wasnt JUST the turbo kit since you have straight downpipe-back...

I am new to turbo's here.
If i bought the HKS kit and installed it, would their need to be tuning done before the car is ready to drive? (tuning that only a professional can do)

I am looking to boost my Fit with either this kit, or the KWSC. I am good with working on the car, but know nothing about turbo'ing.
Any information towards this question is greatly appreciated!

It really depends on the mods you have on the car. To get the most power and longevity out of a turbo I would re-tune it to my car specifically. Otherwise if your just bonestock then go for it.

I am bone stock when it comes to the engine, so I will consider this kit.
When you say "re-tune", I am guessing that means a professional uses a computer and does funky stuff to increase boost, etc.? In other words, something I cannot? Hah.
I apologize for the noobness here.

Essentially yes. But not necessarily upping the boost, but getting better air/fuel mixtures, changing timing etc. The only thing i dislike about the kit is that only a authorized HKS tuner can re-tune the f-con that comes iwth the kit.

Ew that does suck. Especially living in Oklahoma.
So technically if i wanted to raise the boost level, could I do such a thing myself? Or not? In doing so would I need to "re-tune" the F-Con?

Thank you for the help Chris!

If you installed the HKS kit with a full exhaust, you can clearly see the tune on the kit is plenty fine for safe power.
Josh's wasnt retuned and the Air/Fuels are safe.

You could up the boost, however you need to retune it aswell.

A quick search on the HKS site turned up no HKS "Pro" dealers in OK which are the ones who need to tune the Kit if need be.

dude, seeing your charts with the HKS kit, test pipe and pipes is what sold me on the kit. Now I'm trying to get the best deal and will make my purchase soon as I find the deal I want. :]

Ran Josh's car to night. Best I did was a 15.3@89mph. Basically 2.3 60 foots.
Not too bad. Josh isnt impressed. He wanted at least a 90mph trap.
Pretty damn close to me. 89.4mph was my best of the night. The humidity and heat doesnt help.

I think it performed great.

You can clearly see with a good 60 foot a high 14sec pass is very doable.

Sorry again.

It is pretty quick. My Fit ran a 16.7@82mph with an intake.
Just check the MPH difference. That all I really look at.

If installed, is their a need for new gauges (boost, temp, etc.)?
