Autozone brand or bought at Autozone? I know they carry their own brand w/ ceramic in it. I'm not sure what aftermarket brands they carry as far as ceramic.

I think that installing the Type-R front disk setup is something worth doing if you race but overkill for a car that is only driven on the street... I never experience brake fade and on cars I have bought new the only one that I had to put new pads on below 130000 miles was driven carrying heavy loads in city traffic.

The brakes story

Well guys ,talking about brakes,I was driving along when ironically the car in front of me , a 2010 Accord made a sudden stop,i did what i could swerved to the right, did not hit the Accord but a brand new Toyota Yaris hit me from behind. The FIT suffered minor damage but the YARIS buckled,, hood bent, bumper messed up.When i applied full leg power on the brakes the pedal got real hard and the anti lock did the rest. The car does not pull or does anything strange, but will take it tomorrow for damage assessment JJ NOBODY HURT,THANK GOD.

^JJ good to hear no one was hurt and hope the damage isn't to bad. But are you asking for upgrade pads if so EBC green stuff DP22041 and EBC UD1394 ultimax (more of a OEM replacement).

@Jodele what rotors are you running now since stoptech doesn't make them anymore? I'm using (...well i'm test fitting) mini cooper rotors 280mm and they fit good

They still work...but you have to use 1-mm spacers on the calipers and and 5-mm wheel spacers.

StopTech is now working on an all-iron disc (cheaper) version...I don't know when they will bw out though.

I thought you where using blank rotors not slotted. I'm doing a Legend caliper up grade and I'm using the mini cooper rotors off an 07 and they fit, and was letting you know about it. I can get very confusing sometime my bad lol

Cool...tell us a bit more...ie 5-bolt installation with the ATR front BBK. Did you replace the front hubs?

Things to keep in mind…the thicker the material (in the caliper and the bracket) the better the feel of the brakes. Machining off material will only make it less stiff…not a good idea in brake feel.

I needed to replace the center section of the discs and StopTech changed the design…it no longer fits our installation. To use the StopTech new design will require a 4-mm wheel spacer and not a 3-mm.

Well this certainly blows chunks....... **sigh**

The new StopTech Discs will fit if 1-mm spacers are installed in between the caliper and mounting ears...through the caliper mounting bolts.

If you want to continue to use stock wheels, then 5-mm wheel spacers will be needed too...but it will work the GD3 and GE8 cars.

Okay, just to be clear, the spacers are for the caliper mounting not the rotors correct?

I contacted a supplier today, they indicated that these parts (282x25 friction rings) were 3-6 months out, and they haven't had them in stock for all 2012.

The 1-mm spacers (washers) are to bring the caliper out...
