Tire and Wheel size's for a lowered fit

I just want to know what the best set up would be for my car. I have it lowered on the eibach pro springs with stock dampner's. I was looking in to getting a set of rota's but don't know what size would fit with out any rubbing issues. I would like a 16inch preferably. The ones I was looking at were 16x7 with a +40 offset. Would these rub? Also what tire would be better a 205 or a 195. Im not good with tire numbers so what are the difference's? Any info would be a big help!

You may want to try a very small spacer. It is not something I carry but it may work.

Actually, the brake failure would be due to the different rolling diamater of the taller tires interfering with the ABS system.

Taller tires will make the acceleration slower. Is the Fit not slow enough already????

Nice car, towelie. I'm interested in buying the Fit (if my Taurus would just die ) and I'd go for a similar look. I'd like dark 15"ers, smoked windows and have the car dropped in inch or two.

Nice ride.

would it not also lower cruising rpms, thus improving gas milage?

Any one Got 17's? what size tires and do they rub?

Thinking about getting 17's. I was down at the local tire place they told me I could get either 205/40r17 or 205/50R17's. The 50 would be about and inch taller and fill the wheel well more. I just don't want to order wheels and have them rub. Any one have 50's...

+42 and up seems to be what you need for 205's... any lower and you may have to do some rolling.

best replacement tire??

I am planning on getting the Konig heliums but would like you opinions on tires. I live in Hawaii, where it never gets below 55 degrees, I would like less road noise and maybe more smoothness. I need a few different options because I am not sure what I can find locally.

Thanks,
mj
