When you say quality lugs, do you mean tuner lugs? Would these be okay?

yes tuner lugs. Motegi is a good brand. I tried Work but they suck. I couldn't find a socket that fit them and i have many. Plus the way their locking nut was designed it really took the paint off around the hole. J's racing's locking lug nut is designed the same way. Live and learn. It's not noticable at all really but i know. Finally broke down and got project Kicks neochro lugs. They are designed so that the bottom of the lug where it contacts with the wheel is actually a separate piece then the rest of the nut. It swivels around the lugnut and is supposed to reduce paint chipping when you remove the nuts. I have not installed them yet. This weekend i am going to take the wheels off ad give them a good cleaning, touch up any nicks, and wax them.

work on the same principle as your two piece project kicks lugs. The seating end doesn't spin saving the paint on your wheels. Unfortunatly $75 for 16 lug nuts is a little too rich for my blood. I think I'll get a set of Motegis or maybe these red knock-offs on ebay:

I was wondering about lightweight lug nut choices myself.

According to a tuner dealer and friend of mine who has a Fit, he strongly suggests 43 offset, even a 45 for a 17 inch wheel.

I just ordered 16 x 7 inch Motegi Track Traklite wheels (Anthracite with machine lip) with a 45 offset for my Storm silver today. I was having a little bit of a problem trying to decide on shoes. I think 17's would look better, but I have reservations about the ride quality, especially around NY. The stock car is a little bumpy as is. It seems the spring rates aren't quite right from the factory along with shock rebound.

 

Between the higher offset # and the smaller rims you shouldn't have any problems with rubbing. Let us know when you get the new shoes on.

Like a lot of others on this site, I'm looking foward to the release of some good aftermarket shocks for the Fit. The OEMs are not very good, especially with some of the lowering springs(Skunk2) out there.

 

mewant shocks too. Koni and NGK responded to emails that they were working on something for the Fit but they cannot say when. So everyone start emailing them and nag em so they will get them out.

 

I just found the #s from my rims last nite. I have 17x7 rims. Couldn't find the offset. How do I measure the offset on the rims? Im getting new tires soon cause I don't want rubbing when i have friends in my car >.>

I quite don't remember well the brand, but my parents had aftermarket wheels on their SUV and put this kind of lugnuts(only they were not gold) but when using that pistol thing to take the lugnuts out, they broke like if they were made out of plastic. Really cheap metal goin on.

 

Getting close to buying a set of Rota Grid 15s with tire package from JayDM.

Question is, should I go with the Azenis, or the Visa (rebadged Falken) tires with the package. They only come in 205/50 tires so I'll stick with those.

GF210 springs are going to be on the way so I'll roll with my stockies for now till I get money for the wheels.

What do you guys think? Or is there another place who i can get the package deal from who will have 195/55?

Any help would be nice!!!

I have wheels on the way (15x6.5 silver Konig Heliums)
I've had a couple of sets of Falken 512's in the past and really like them a lot...
Edge Racing lists them in 2 sizes: 195/55 15 and 205/50 15
The 195's are V rated and 1.4lb heavier than the 205's (H rated)

Since I chose a wheel based largely on weight (would not have been my first choice based on looks), I would prefer the lighter H rated 205 tires.

I'm a little concerned that the 205's will be too wide for the 6.5'' wheel. The car will be lowered a little (nothing drastic)... probably Tanabe GF210's.

Also, I don't know what the functional difference will be between the H and V rated versions of the same tire... is it just a different compound?, are the sidewalls stiffer? different belt arrangement, etc?

Any opinions?

Edit: If someone from TireRack.com has a suggestion on a different tire (I really wish you guys carried Falkens), I would be open to that as well.

 

the 205/50's shoudl be totally fine. whats the offset? if its +40 or higher (+45, +48, +50) youll be ok. +38 and lower you will rub

It's my 2nd day with mine: 195/55/15

Definite tram effect on grooved concrete - so what
No lateral wind or wet yet
Turn-in is laser sharp
Noisy: somewhat, on smooth concrete, on ashphalt, normal tire noise
90-100 mph tiny amount vibration; to be sorted.
Reasonable cost: less than $400 OTD
Marginal braking improvment, but noticable.

 

Yeah they're +40. They have it in +38's too, and i'll make sure i'll be getting the +40s. I had 16x7 +35s on it and it was rub city on the rear fenders.

i have 15x6.5 +40 w/ 195/55-15 it only rubbed when new and i had 2 people or a lot of cargo out back. after the plastic rubbed i havent had an issue yet. (my buddies a pretty big...about 450 combined out back thats the ony time it rubbed.....and it dosent rub anymore)

so yeah might have slight rubbage but itll go away

 

Get the Azenis my friend. They'll stick to the road like old chewing gum on the underside of a desk.

I heard those Azenis are pretty damn good. I think I'll go ahead and go with those tires for a little bit more. Lets see if I can get by without the wife getting mad =)

 

I just changed my tires to 205/40/17s and the rubbing seemed to go away with 4 ppl in the car. I found out what my tires were rubbing against. There's a plastic bracket that is holding the rear bumper and the old tires were rubbing against it during tight turns or hard bumps. Ill take a picture when I can to show what it was rubbing against. The tires are now at the same height as my 195/55/15s with the same damn gap. Im looking to get some coilovers to drop the front more than the rear. Im hoping that the narrower tires will miss the plastic bracket.
