has anyone seen these tires.they are 195/40/17 and i think you could stetch them out on a 7 inch wide wheel.it would surley help out with the rubbing issues everyone seems to be having.

15's or 16's?

All right, after getting the DF210's,I'm gonna save up for wheels. Now my question is what size looks better?15's or 16's?

Will the 15's leave too much finger gap or is it too small for the Fit's body?

Will the 16's make the car sit too high?even with the drop?

Hell just post up your pics if you have 15's OR 16's

15"s will usually be lighter and provide less rotational mass = better acceleration and gas mileage.

16"s will be heavier but could be wider providing slightly better traction on dry roads (depending on tire of 15") = better road holding, worse mileage and worse accel.

In the end, the overall wheel/tire diameter shouldn't change unless you go with a smaller tire which would cause your speedo to be slightly off. The gaps should be the same with either 15" or 16".

I've been going back and forth on wheel decisions ever since i picked up my Fit last month.. I think I have come to a conclusion of going with 15" konig heliums (like most of the Fit owners on this forum) due to the fact that they are only 10.6lbs per wheel vs the stock sport wheels of 15.8lbs. I believe the 5lb difference in the 2 wheels will make a good difference in acceleration/handling/gas mileage.

If you don't care about those 3 things, then go with 16's. The look of a bigger wheel I think does look better in the end.

SO the big question is... Is your Fit for Show? or is your Fit for GO?!

You could always spend a fortune to get lightweight 16's...

Thats my 2 cents.

Thumbs up

Finally got my 17s mounted and on the car. Buddy Club P1's with Kuhmo 205/40/17's. No rubbing in the rear and a very slight rub on the fronts when hitting large dips and holes at high speed. So far so good!

YeeFit,
thanks man.In the end I do care more about aesthetics.Though there may be a slight decrease in performance by going with 16's rather than 15's,it's still a huge improvement than the stock 14x5 steelies, lol

JamesBizzle,
haha I wish

I was worried that The Skunk2 springs would be too low for the 17s. But they seem okay. They have a nice ride as well. Not too stiff. Some of the Skunk2 spring bashers on FitFreak had me worried! LOL

Official I was in the same boat as you and ended up going with the HFP wheels and went with some yokohama's. I just liked the way the 16's looked on the fit, and with the HFP ones the offset is so high that you would never have to worry about rubbing, and it seems some of the cooler 16's that don't cost a fortune have rubbing issues sometimes when the fit is dropped.

I can post pics of my NHBP with the hfp wheels on saturday after I get the tires mounted

edit:

its not my fit but its a NHBP with the HFP's....
and benardi has em for a really fair price, I think they are about the same weight of the sport wheels.
