Hey Guys,

I figured I would start up a thread specifically for discussions about this;

Agenda:

1) Swap in Justin's JP Brake pads

My X3E pads are noisy as hell, is really bad now and almost embarassing to drive. He is looking to swing by Etienne's place this weekend, maybe I can swap in my old OEM pads to his car in return for those pads for mine?

2) Noisy freaking belt

Belt is still squealing away after the alternator pulley install, maybe we can have a quick look at that too. I don't see any immediate solution yet.

3) Long Term Disability

Hoping to leave my car in the capable hands of JDMish and ET while I am gone to China. Hoping to get together for a coffee this weekend and discuss the finer details. Will leave you guys with a float of cash to cover your time and expenses.

I wouldn't mind you leaving us a few stock parts as well since I'd be interested in swapping the stock intake manifold to see if the car feels slower or faster.

If you have the software for your emanage I would REALLY like to look at that on my laptop to see what the options are and if we can get rid of that CEL for you.

We could swap the brake pads no problem in about 45 mins it's pretty easy.

I am taking Thursday and Friday off this week, Saturday I am at an nhl 2009 party with a bunch of geeks and won't be home from like 11am to 3am the next day lol.

Sunday nothing planned yet.

You work right downtown right now right? We could meet up for coffee or lunch somewhere. I am at 5th & 5th

Parking is in my building accross from the new Stampede Casino. Basically it is about a 5-ish minute walk to the train at city hall... I personally hate the train so I just walk all the way. Takes me about 15-20 mins from start to finish.

My baby will have to sleep outside lol, should be fine. Although I would feel better if it had a big Falken tent over it

I'm sure that would not draw any attention to it at all..

Work downtown and the new job is downtown as well but tomorrow is my last day here and I am going for lunch with my group. Might work better if you just drop by this weekend sometime.

^^^ Talked to the wife, she is worried if I leave it with you guys while we are gone I am going to be obsessively following what is going on and ruin our trip... she is probably right

I do have a plan; Pull the E-manage (should be a harness) & pull the manifold. I will deal with the rework on it and tuning next spring. I guess try quickly to fix the pulley, if not then maybe pull it too while the manifold is off.

Swapping in just the brake pads from Justin's car (not the rotors) should be quick?

Sound ok? Will by lunch and pay for your guys time.

Sure but do owe you coffee

Wife is right no this one man hate to say it but you can't worry about the car while away.

Just bring it as is and bring us the pulleys, manifold and we'll see what we can do while not mentioning anything about it during your away time.

btw when is your departure date and return?

Coffee is always on me

I was thinking time permitting to try and bang it all out on Sunday, it went fairly quick last time. Yank the manifold, maybe yank the alternator, yank the alt pulley... then slap it all back together while somebody swaps the front pads.

I think the E-mange is just a matter of unplugging the harness. Not sure how well tied in it is to the car.

Then I don't have to worry about anything until next year. I feel relieved just saying that

However we can talk. I don't mind just leaving everything with you to play around with. The wife said as long as you only relay the occasional good news e-mail she would be ok with that. So no "OMG The Piston rings are F-cked" e-mails please! lol

We should come up with a rough budget if we go this route. I was thinking to leave a series of checks with you guys so you can pull cash as needed during the troubleshooting process.

I like my tires!! You should see how many kids think my car is a giant hot wheels toy

so quick question for you, did Weapon R say the car needed to be tuned after the intake manifold with other supporting mods you have or did they say it should be fine without it.

I'd like to just try and unplug it and see what the power feels like but without a wideband it's hard to know how lean that would make the car go or what the current tune looks like.

we can look at everything Sunday but I probably won't be able to spend more than about 3-4 hours on it.

It leans out the A/F a lot from what I understand, I assume that is why WR sells a "fuel computer" with the manifold as well.

I know for a fact it runs dangerously lean without that E-manage in it.

Basically when I was down in Van, after they test drove the car with the wideband on it Ben confirmed that without a tune the manifold was making the car run way leaner than it should. He said I was actually losing a lot of power as a result.

He tuned the car for the manifold and all of the other parts that were on it that time. The only power part I have added since has been the UR pulley's which shouldn't really have any kind of affect on it.

I will bring the software by and you can have a look at the tune on your laptop... also has cool real time graphing which is neat

If Justin has that test pipe with the wideband built in still we could theoretically install it, hook it into the Greddy port and tune the car that way. Not exactly something we can do on a Sunday, though it might be a cheaper option just to buy it from him than trying to dyno tune it.

I believe he still has both for sale. Jon and I could technically tune it but I'm a bit scared tuning a brand new car. I would just like to see what the A/F looks like before touching anything.

Keep in mind at sea level where Ben is it may have been too lean and at our altitude it may be fine without the emanage. All I know is unless one of those parts is crap, they should give you at least 10whp over a stock fit...

They did say the map is adjusted to suit a higher elevation. It should be easy to trim fuel from the map they created if it is still rich.

So what is the plan then? You want to check out the A/F back at the Mustang shop before doing anything?

EDIT: on a side note it looks like no more upgrades for the E-manage software... Greddy just went bankrupt

Just a quick touch on the emanage harness. You probably can't just unplug the harness. Atleast from my experience with the turbo install I had to actually cut and bypass a few wires from the ecu to the emanage. If you just unplug it your injectors may not shoot any juice!

Yours may be different tho.

I'm sure Greddy will get bought out.. when did they go bankrupt? It doesn't really make much sense as they are a pretty huge company and have provided high quality aftermarket parts for years. Greddy going under is like saying HKS is going under..

If you can't find you emanage disc let me know. I have mine.

Well I'd like to start off by just looking at the car and going for a drive with a wideband if possible to see what that looks like under normal driving conditions.

Then I would like to see what swapping the stock manifold does for it, loss or gain of power or if anything can be felt and what the a/f looks like.

I'd also like to look at the emanage with a laptop and their software to see how it's configured and if we can bypass that check engine light and see what is causing that in the WR vs stock manifold design.

btw I hear a test pipe also gives a code because the ecu will see there is no cat anymore... Can you confirm that Adam?

The ECU will only throw a code if you do not install the O2 fix with the test pipe. I know the T1R pipe comes with the O2 fix, I don't know about any other brands.

My CEL was not due to the test pipe since I have the O2 fix with my pipe. My CEL is from the barometric pressure sensor throwing a code due to the additional boost. I had it scanned and that was the code for my CEL.

I don't think E-manage can wipe out certain CEL's, I looked into it quite a bit.
