Tracking/AutoX Discussion
The San Francisco Region of the SCCA is surprisingly active. Especially considering there are at least 2 more sub chapters in Sacramento and Fresno AND the BMW, Porsche, Datsun and American Muscle clubs that alsot host events in the areas. If you had time, $, the "right" car and inclination, you could get seat time almost every weekend!
It's not all that central, but I live in Livermore so it's fine for me.
AutoX venues seem to be diminishing. Candlestick will be getting demo'd soon. The new 9ers stadium is being built on a site where we used to autocross occasionally. And the FAA is playing hardball with the Marina Motorsports folks - they don't want to share their airport any more.

well today was a good day a suspension testing and slick testing at Atlanta Motorsports Park. Weather was perfect, care was running great, Yokohama Advan A005 slicks were very sticky and held up great. Suspension is getting closer as well. Attracted good attention, ran down and passed several fast cars including a C5 Z06, 993 911 porsche, 370z, and multiple m3's, etc. Still lots to do before UTCC, but things are looking good.

Thought I posted this in here but put it in a different thread. There was an autocross event locally here on Sunday and the Fit did very well. It was a fast track and in raw time I pulled off 11th out of 30 drivers. Check out one of my runs:
Ahhhhh, ^^ that's no L series
REALLY want so see you rep our chassis at the UTCC!!! Do you have a build thread with more details on your setup? What are you doing for susp? Especially with the extra weight in the nose... I've heard interesting things about Pirellies being the best slick for Atlanta... Also I'm loving your splitter!

you have prolly seen the build of this Fit, was in Modified Mag back in 2007. Suspension details to come soon. The Pirelli's are good, but i think I like the Advans better on light chassis.
I sold my h1 Honda Challenge EK Coupe and was wanting to build something more unique for a track car. We got my wife a 2012 Fit Sport and after driving it some I knew I wasnt a GD fit. I was looking for a good deal, knowing I would be swapping it. I was finding alot of very high mileage Fits but they were still priced a bit high. I was told about this Fit sitting in storage with a motivated seller. And after debating buying someone elses build, I decided that I have built enough of them from the ground up over the past 18 years that It would be nice to just have a good starting point, plus with my very busy work schedule it would be even harder. So after multiple phone calls, pics, videos, etc I bought this car and had it shipped to me and I am now turning it from a quick street car with some track attitude into a quick track beast that is street driven and loving it more every day. I will continue to improve upon it, and I hope soon I can share my parts with others to help each of us with our performance improvments.

Yes, it was in the Seattle area. Low miles on chassis and swap also. It was the first swapped Fit indeed. Fastbrakes kit is good but I am already pushing beyond these brakes, will be upgrading soon. 20min on track and brakes are about gone, lol.
What Pads Are U Running. Im Running Hawk Ht10 Up Front And Oem Rsx Semi Metallic Pads In Rear. It Takes Me About 4 Track Weekends To Get Rid Of Front Pads. Also I Dont Use My Brakes Much. Just Cause Its A Momentum Car.... But Ur almost Double My Power So That Could Be The Difference.
I am running hawk dtc70 front dtc60 rear. I use as little brake as I can, and pads hold up, but heat is the issue, going to improve my ducting, but I will at minimum upgrade to a 2 piece rotor up front soon. Currently running ATE super blue fluid but may make the switch to Castro SRF as well.

I have some silicone ducting in there already. But I will be modifying the stock rotor dust sheild to incorporate a coupler to keep the duct properly aimed at all times. I am also looking into either fabricating some larger duct openings at the fog location, or NACA ducts in the splitter to feed the brakes. If you push as hard as I do, run very aggressive pads and very sticky slicks, you will start reaching the limits of the brakes.
Made a few calls today... Would anyone be interested in potentially doing a group buy for either Carbotech brake pads and/or drum shoes or maybe even a group buy for Tokico shocks and struts?

Marina is great... but...
