I'd like a 1-way, change the final drive to like 4.9 and be at 4500 rpm at 65 mph on the freeway and not care at all.

MFactory offers a 4.9 for the CR-Z, but only a 4.687 for the Fit which is in mine and went with a 1 way. For North American models no point since yours comes with a 4.62. Stock here is 4.29, but the 4th and 5th is tighter here. At 120km/h (75mph) in 5th I sit at about 4800 I believe. On the way over to J's took the ShinTomei, brand new expressway, and definitely gear limited to right around 201km/h(125mph). Speed measured by GPS.

I am rather happy that the USDM comes with almost 4.7 stock... I wonder why the difference between JDM and USDM in the trans?

I am jelly of your new BMC by the way haha.

Has anybody tried the Tokico HTS adjustable shocks/struts on the track/autox? I know they're as much coilovers, just curious if they're any good.

Because the speed limits in Japan are mostly 80km/h max, with some areas 100km/h max on the expressways. SLOW!!!

Quick question. Hopefully I get a quick reply.

So for my run tomorrow I have goodridge SS brakelines, hawk hp + pads, slotted and cross drilled rotors, Motul 5.1 brake fluid, 5w30 royal purple oil, running enkei 15 inch RPF1 wrapped in bridgestone potenza RE-11, swift springs, and currently aligned to zero toe, and -1.5 cambered for better turn in.

Did great for autocross, but for HPDE how do you guys think the cooling system will hold up for several 20 min. Sessions on a 2.5 mile roadcourse?

the cooling system is completely fine. I am in texas where it gets up to 118°F and I beat the hell out of my car on 3.1 mile tracks that last about 30 mins per session.. you are completely fine. I did this with the stock motor and fluid.

Good news, I was wondering about this.

The only time i've seen a stock Honda motor boil over on track was on an S2k but it was because the rad cap was on it's way out.

Did you monitor oil temps at all JC with L15?

Aw, 555, have you maybe?

I was considering an oil cooler w/ thermostat but I suppose if the B-Spec cars don't have it maybe it's not needed. Was just aiming to help engine longevity, not really worried about a critical on-track oil temp situation.

Advice anyone? Waste of money?

I'd say an oil cooler is unnecessary. I don't have hard evidence with temps or anything, but I would think HPD would have one on their Bspec cars if it was needed.

I've run autocrosses with a co-driver, so it was literally 12 runs back-to-back with just enough time in between for a driver cange. The cooling system seems to be pretty stout on these cars, and the radiator in the Fit looks like a larger core than most of the BMWs I work on

I've thought about getting a pair of gauges, for oil and water temp, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet

I usually see about 120~125C oil temps on sessions lasting 15~20 min.

Thanks BOM and 555, your responses got buried in my subscribed threads.

I suppose just running 5w30 on track days would be enough then.

Hi all,

Already posted the details of my first AutoX over in this thread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...ml#post1113432

and was wondering if any one here might be able to help me clarify which class I should shoot for next time out? My buddy said STC (still novice for me) but I'm hoping I can fit into something where I'm a bit more competetive..

And while I'm here, the only action shot I got from today:

Thanks!

I'm curious if anyone has figured out what the class this car is most competitive in is, and what the mods are to bring it up to the proper level of performance is.

I'm doing pretty well in STF. I got the f*** out of HS pretty quick... race tires don't appeal to me for various reasons.

Who knows, I may throw on some 15x8s and 225 slicks if i'm feeling ballsy... play around in SMF so I can stop reading the rule book before I click "add to cart"

Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a Fit for a DD and the latest GRM makes it seem like the GE is looking like a pretty capable STF car in multiple regards. I've always liked the Fit for it's combination of economy and utility so if it'd be competitive in it's ST* class, that'd be nice.

My main concerns are the rear suspension. Seems the GD at least has a bolt on hub unit such that you can shim it for rear alignment (camber/toe). Also it seems that quite a few GEs have suffered from rear torsion beam 'shifting' such that there is out of whack toe. Has anyone experimented with repositioning or shimming the torsion beam to get the toe at least back to 0 (or even).

Anyway, I'm not looking to go crazy with the build, probably just Redshifts coilovers, 16x7.5 Kosei K4Rs, 225/50/16 Star specs, and double camber bolts in the front struts.

How does the L15 respond to breather modifications?

Thanks

I believe breather mods are a waste of $$. Our mods so far are camber bolts top & bottom which gave us -2.3, RSB, and our second set of front tires are Dunlop Star Specs. This weekend was the first time out with the latest mods and the rear was extremely loose, to much for my liking and rear tires will be next,
