I just used whatever car soap I had and it seemed to work pretty well. I'm almost out of soap so I'll buy some of the dedicated foam soap to see how it does. This was my first time using it and it was pretty easy.
Got my PIAAs Xtreme White Plus replacements since my last set burned out before they made a year. I'm leaning on selling them and just going LED. Looks like some people have had good luck with this set: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ink/3929/8565/
Well I made the mistake of installing the PIAAs and one of them burnt out last week, so didn't make it a year again. I went ahead and ordered the LED bulbs above. I'm sure I'll have better luck...
Installed the LED bulbs. I didn't have to rotate them for a good pattern but it wasn't super dark yet. They went in without much trouble. The rubber gasket was a little tight but nothing a little pressure couldn't fix. They are nice a white light.
I remembered that you asked me about my vinyl trunk mat. I tried looking back in this thread. What did you end up getting?
I bought the cheap Chinese knockoffs from eBay and they seem to work pretty well. I have a milk crate that I used to organize stuff so things aren't sliding around. It's bungeed down too.
Oh I still haven't got around to making that false trunk bottom to mount my subwoofer upside down on - lol
I have some MLV on order. I suppose that most would be happy with my current results. I have to tackle the road noise from the front wheels/fenders, floor and firewall.
First day driving with the LEDs and they're definitely brighter/whiter than any halogens. Beam pattern looks decent and nobody flashed me so that's a good sign.

How's the high beam pattern? I got some faux-projector LEDs from Amazon and while the low-beam is awesome, the high-beam is very anemic.
HB is decent, could only use in the neighborhood as too many cars on my daily commute. LB is way better than stock, so I may seldom need to use HB. With halogens, I would use HB every opportunity since LB was awful.
I really don't know why I waited so long to switch...
I've got a 45 mile commute to work and I make better time on the back roads since I'm coming from a rural area. Speeds don't exceed 65. I don't really hit traffic till I get about 5-10 miles from the city.
Another 45 miles on the way home and I take even more back roads to avoid having to make left turns at traffic lights.
I changed out the filter and oil at 78418 miles. Also cleaned the maf with crc maf cleaner. I was going to clean the k&n but the oil had spilled out.
While the splash guard was off, I replaced the panic horn on the passenger side behind the bumper. I still had the stock one when I changed out to the college hills Honda sport horns. Water must have got into it as there was still some trapped inside when I removed it. That area must not be as well protected as ActionJackson had the same issue.
Yeah I don't understand why the low tone horn dies. The area just around it is very clean when I look.
I do remember hitting some puddles on a flooded road, so that must have done it. Didn't really think about it at the time, but seeing how much water came out of the horns surprised me. I had them mounted with the opening facing downward as instructed. So the meep meep panic horn is back in place.
Just ordered the K&N filter recharge kit so I'll clean out my engine filter when that comes in. It's low priority as I'm still getting 44-46 MPG.
First drive after the oil change and MAF clean, the car does seem to perform better. MAF didn't look dirty/oily, but figured while I was waiting for the oil to drain I would do something.
On the the drive in this morning it did get about 1 mpg lower on the trip from home to work. Did feel like it was slightly less peppy than the dirty k&n. I'll do another run with the cleaned k&n.
