Fit Sport still going strong since purchase September 2019, now over 281k. Only work done is coil packs and plugs, O2 sensors, clutch assembly, starter motor, valve adjustment. Was getting a cat code but added some Cataclean snake oil per direction and so far so good months later.
Pushing the extended oil drain interval program with Amsoil signature series 5W-20 and Ea oil filter With last oil of filter change September 2020. Incredibly no oil added since then and oil still looks clean. Will still both change soon.
Went to a two year Signature Series oil change interval with my 2006 Prius with a yearly Ea oil filter change and car was still running very strong when I sold it to a friend in 2017. He still has it with no problems other than finally needing the battery pack replaced.
Fit still a hoot to run up to the red line on occasion. Still runs very strong with low to mid 30s mpg.
Just looking for some of the highest mileage Fits out there. This is mostly just for fun but also useful because we can see what parts break first / potential weaknesses in our cars.
I'll start with mine. I am about to roll over 94,000. I haven't had any problems yet really. I had to resurface the brake rotors at about 70,000 and I can tell I will have to do it again, but oh well. I also have some minor issues with the weak paint and various door dings. Other then that I've had only routine maintenance. The Fit has still been a great car and is fun to drive!

I bought my 2008 Fit base new in November of 2007. I put 187,000 miles on it before handing it down to my son in fall of 2015 because he "needed" a car for college (he needed to visit his girl friend an hour away). It took him through 3 years of undergrad and 4 years of veterinarian school. He graduated in May, 2022 and recently gave it back to me with 291,000 miles on it. Side note - His first year of vet school he got a dog, a greyhound. The dog rode along behind the rear seats on a couple couch cushions and fit in there just fine. Anyways, I replaced the alternator at 145,000, replaced the coils and did a valve job around 160,000. Oil every 5,000 miles (that's 58 oil changes) pads and rotors and tires as needed. It still has the original muffler and believe it or not the original brake shoes in the back. I took it to a mechanic to have the shoes replaced in early 2020 just because I knew they hadn't been replace and just assumed they needed to be. He told be the brake shoes were at 50%. He could not believe I bought the car new and the they had only worn that much over 265,000 miles. Also the air conditioning needs to be recharged I think for the first time and the day I got it back from my son the serpentine belt broke, yes it was the original one. He drove it about 20 miles after it broke and now with the belt replaced I continue to have an overheating problem. after driving it a little I think it also needs either ball joints or tie rods or both
I am not a mechanic or know my way around an engine but I am mechanically inclined. I never took it back to the dealer or any other mechanic for regular service other than the alternator and the brake shoe check. The 2008 Honda fit, while not the best looking car I ever owned has certainly been the most reliable car I ever owned.
With the issues I need to fix I am struggling to be smart about putting money into the car but I really want to drive it to 300,000. That would get me through another Wisconsin winter and extend the life of my current daily driver.
Just picked up a 2008 5spd with 230K for $2K. Not too bad a deal, it seems mechanically FIT No burning/leaking/grinding, handles like a go-cart, and it pulls decently too.
t had a wiring issue where the interior lights/OBD2/Radio/Chime had no power (no 12V constant). I checked this forum and unfortunately, it was NOT fuse #8 under the hood. The same symptoms/problems but the 12V constant is good at the fuse box, I'm guessing a wire was cut/grounded somewhere before the OBD2 port. I just ran the OBD2 power directly to the fusebox and voila, everything works perfectly. Now I can go pass emissions and get it registered.
It's not the prettiest car, but it is as fun to drive as my 93si hatch was... and that's saying ALOT. Pics to come.
Just turned over 247k this past month on my 2007 Sport. Had to finally replace the coil packs at 245k. Only second time I've change plugs. Still running great. Get 38mpg without running the AC and 34mpg running the AC. A little rust popping out but the interior is still in great shape.
Original owner here of a 2007 Sport 5MT. I am embarrassed posting here with a mere 135k on mine. We use the vans for longer trips but the Fit is great and runs perfectly!
I've seen a few posts about coil packs. When do those go bad and how can you tell? It throws a CEL?
No reason to be embarrassed. I would love it if mine only had that many miles. Mine has been my daily commuter except for the few years I didn't own it. 20k miles a year or more adds up quick.
I found out my coil packs needed replace the morning I was driving to work and it started missing and the check engine light came on. Ran the codes and it was time. Fortunately on the Fit, it is an easy change for the plugs and coil pack. Only down side is having to lean over the engine while doing it.
Purchased my 2007 with 213k miles late August, closing in on 218k miles and I plan on driving this until the wheels fall off, or if we decide to start a family. For now it serves as my daily commuter and the do it all car for me and my wife. Our Fit took us to and from NYC/NJ almost every weekend over the last 2 months.
Finally crossed the 300,000 mile mark. 07 sport AT. I'm upset at myself for missing the exact moment. If it weren't for COVID, back surgery, and more working from home, I'd have passed this a long time ago. Finally got the struts replaced, my secondary cooling fan hadn't been working leading to overheating. Stuff like that. But overall she's running great. Still 38 miles per gallon

I own a 2007 1st Generation Honda Fit Sport I bought with 6 miles on it new in March 2007. I still own it and drive it daily when not under the weather like now with a nasty cold. But my Honda Fit Sport has 371,600 plus miles on her. She needs a new catalytic converter with my Honda Dealer wants $2,500 but a local custom muffler shop wants only $550.00 plus sensors if needed at $200 each. But A Lot cheaper then $2,500 Honda wants.
Other than replacing entire AC unit at 120k and having constant issues with coil packs just routine maintenance. I’ve been considering adjusting valves but can’t get a consistent answer on whether it should be done?

Valve clearance on the Fit engine can make a noticeable difference in idling, smoothness, power and fuel efficiency. I’ve done mine about 4 times over the 225k that I’ve driven it. I can 100% recommend it, especially if you feel confident in doing it yourself, or have a friend who knows how to do it.
For me, after running through the tutorial on this site, it was a 4 hour job the first time, and about 2.5 hours each time after that.
2008 Fit purchased at 187k km (now at 220k, or 137k miles).
Just took it to the mechanic for a replacement mid-pipe (the pipe broke right at the resonator during a trip, resulting in ear-bleeding drone/buzz between 2k-3k rpm) and unintended burbles-and-pops on downshifts.
Prior to that, I replaced the sway bar end links and outer tie rods as suspension started clunking over broken surfaces.
Also had to replace the muffler due to the hanger area rusting off (this car lived in Toronto so it has dealt with salt and slush).
Also replaced coil packs and spark plugs soon after I bought it (it had the hesitation issue), and also replaced the rotors (warped) and pads (rusted) due to the terrible braking performance.
Now, with Brembo rotors and Hawk HPS pads on RPF1s and Continental Extremecontact Sport tires, the Progress RSB and the BuddyClub short shifter, the car is hilarious fun on a daily basis (and handles life as a family car with 2 kids in car seats).
