Mine is 2007 5 Speed manual. I bought it last yr September with 155,000 km (or so I thought). I Was contacted by a private investigator and policy last week that the kid I bought it from was arrested as he had rolled the odometer back from 355,000 km.

So far I have replaced the following:
Driver side door lock cylinder at 155,000 km (355,000 actual km)
Coil packs at 155,000 km (355,000 actual km)
Muffler at 180,000 km (380,000 actual km)
Unclog AC drain hose as it back flows back to passenger side foot area at 180,000 km (380,000 actual km)
Front rotors and pads at 199,000 km (399,000 actual km)
Right side tie rod at 199,000 km (399,000 actual km)

So far so good and my mechanic told me that it doesn't feel like a 400,000km car.

wow that's quite a story, I wonder how the kid got caught?! I guess everything just kept dying out cuz of rust eh?

bought mine for 2650$ but had to pay taxes on 3300 because of some canadian red book bs... ouch!

needed a tranny mount to pass safety (5spd) $200 cad parts/labor/taxes

just repaired leaks to the rear spare tire and blocked the lower front grille ($20 bucks worth of stuff at Rona)

got it at 192,000 km, just ran two full tanks so far at 33 mpg with mostly 70 mph + driving.

So far so good... coming from a Chrysler Sebring 06 (25 mpg average) lol this is a godsend's vehicle.

Does anyone have to add oil to the engine between oil changes? Usually I have to change the oil before that happens, I use the Maintenance Minder and usually change it at around 30-10% at my earliest convenience (about 7k miles). My 2010 is at 160k right now.

I have an '08 Sport with 146k miles and it doesn't burn a drop of oil. I've been fastidious about doing (regular, not synthetic) oil changes and keeping a log of everything - mileage, repairs, gas, etc. Without going out to my car's glove box and looking, I think I'm on my 28th oil change now. I know I'm over 25.

147k+ miles here running like a top.. 37+ on the hwy.. I think the coil packs need replacing because anything more than half-throttle and the engine bucks a little and hesitates.. also runs stronger/normal in the cold weather.. Not sure if that's a sign of coil packs or not (does cold affect them?)

No cold doesn't affect them, you'll know if it's the coils your engine light will come on. At least mine did anyways pretty much as soon as the issue started.

The engine light won't necessarily come on with a bad coil (it's less likely in my experience). A quick way to check your coils is to yank the coils and use a digital meter (even a Harbor Freight freebie will work) to compare the resistance between them. If you have an outlier, you've found your bad coil pack.

07 Sport (manny) with 115k. JUST started noticing some clicking/pulsating from the motor at idle, goes away after I'm in gear AND moving. Anyone have any insight before I walk into the mechanic totally clueless???

Hmm then it must be a oxygen sensor perhaps that is going out on mine.. Fit feels stronger and doesn't hiccup when it's cold out.

No, you'll get a CEL for a bad o2 sensor. My advice: Check the coil packs first.

What's up everyone I just bought a 08 fit with 150 xxx. Had it for a day and cel came on and code read misfire in cylinder 3. From doing research online people say its the coil packs. The previous owner said he changed them all but I noticed 1 looks aftermarket and others are the oem brand, so I Believe he changed 1 hoping to get rid of the problem

And is that cylinder 3 that has the aftermarket? I have 4 aftermarket coils but they cost 100 each and came with 3 years warranty.
It's definitely coils if not spark plugs.

No cylinder 1 has the aftermarket coil pack. But I'm assuming if 1 went bad possibly now others are going bad.. I searched autozone.com and noticed the part number from the 1 he installed on the fit. It's a $50 coil pack duralast brand. But he said he did all 4 and that was a lie

Stuck valves will cause a misfire code, you may need a valve adjustment if they've never been with that many miles, fsm says do it every 50k mi, I got a cel for a misfire at 100k, changed plugs, tested coils, turns out I had an exhaust valve sticking open, adjusted them, code cleared out

Yea I read to do a valve adjustment. I figured I'm going to get new packs see what happens just so I know they were changed anyways since he lied. Next I'll do a valve adjustment. Just hoping the fit will be ok,I was excited to get it.

Have you had a chat to the seller about this? What a jerk.
I only did all 4 because my mechanic said 2 were bad and usually the rest follows. So this is mostly likely what's happening to you aswell.
50 bucks you may aswell buy 4 and at least you know they are actually done and will have warranty.

Yes I called him but no answers, he replied to my text though. I told him no need to lie now he already got the money but I just want to know the truth. He continued to say he changed them all with duralast brand which isn't true because I checked and 3 look old and are hitachi brand and 1 looks gloss black/new and is a autozone brand stamped c1578 or something along those lines can't remember exact number. It's ok I just ordered the coil packs they will be here Friday. I'm just hoping that's what the problem is and after that I can enjoy the fit

The easy way to check if it's the coils before you go changing them is to simply switch the coil for cylinder one to another cylinder and see if the misfire code follows it (e.g. swap the coils for cylinder 1 and 3 and see if a new code comes up for a misfire in cylinder 1).

Thanks for the info ^ I already ordered the coils, I figured he changed 1 because there was an issue before so I'm going to change all just for peace of mind knowing I did it. He said he did all of them but that was a lie after simply looking at them and noticing 1 was a duralast coil and the others were still the oem ones

Bought a 2008 BPM M/T with 184K on it at the begining of December. Have done work from bumper to bumper including the rear bumper! Tune up with new CP's and factory plugs. All fluids changed rebuilt 1 front caliper, a little interior work, paint work, filters, ect. It's now a great ride and enjoyable in every scene. And like all Hondas 184K miles is just a good start!
