High Mileage Fits

A valve clearance has solved cold stalling on many many members cars on here there is a bunch of posts. At that mileage if they have never been done it's way past due.
Funny a dealer had the right answer for a change.

We just found these forums, and came to the same conclusion, thanks! Don't give the dealer too much credit- they had to call the Honda mother ship to get that answer. Charged us $99 to do it too.

101k 07 fit sport automatic going good a few hickups here and there computer went was under warrenty tho.. replaced all 4 coil pack and went to synthetic oil at 30k n complaints really never left me stranded had the flickering headlight thing happen too but when the computer was replaced that stopped its my daily driver now so it gets less use than when it was the wifes

Timing chains are much better than belts. Older cars always had them and they almost never went out. This belt business started in the earlier 80's and caused a lot of unnecessary problems, destroyed motors (really gave nissan and ford a bad rep) so really glad Honda went to chain, least on the Fit.

'08 with 29K. Only issues so far:
2 girls in SUV did a hit and run in a Walmart parking lot. Got my right rear door. Body shop did a great job except they must have broke that plastic rear plastic trim (garnish) as a few months ago it came off in a car wash. I just got back on the forum and found the part $22 so not a biggie.
All WX mats wearing carpet in 2 places. Any ideas how to fix that?
The only thing that has actually broken is the scan gauge 2 that I installed, but just replaced it with a blue tooth OBDII that works with my phone.
Original everything though I will need front tires soon. Any recommendations for long life yet not too expensive? Other than that only oil changes about every 5k .
Oh for those of you with warped rotors:
Here is what I do to avoid. I learned this years ago riding motorcycles.
Use a combo of engine braking and your regular brakes. Don't downshift too soon or use engine braking entirely as it is bad for transmission. But use a combo and you won't have to push down hard on brakes except for emergency stops.
I really like this car as it reminds me of early 80's Honda's& Toyotas when they were fairly simple, yet super reliable.

07 sport going on 84200 miles. Running hondata "stock" tune with a f5 sri, dcsports headers and invidia exhaust. No hiccups as of yet, I change my oil and rotate my tires every 5k. Eventually I will replace the coil packs and switch to ik-22 spark plugs.

How did you determine the oil pump is going bad?

Up until 2 weeks ago, the only issue I've had with my '07 5AT Sport, was 2 coilpacks going out on me. Now at 209K, the AC compressor has died of old age. The dealer quoted $1,500 to get it running again.

115k miles here. 97k on turbo. Main things on OEM that have gone out for me is both front wheels bearings, a/c discharge hose took a dump recently, and driver's side axle recently. Other than normal maintenance, these were the big issues for me.
