I understand this completely! However.

This car is to damn small for me. I am 6' 1" I've been driving the car since I was 16. I love the car, I put money into it, it still looks good, it's comfortable for me and 3 friends (however significantly slower) I bring it snowboarding it's a great car but after driving it for so long. I'm not 21 so about 5 years I feel trapped inside the small vehicle it's starting to get to me.

Besides me being a bit large for the car, as well as my friends. With the passenger seat back friends my size are still not as comfortable as they should be. Though riding in my dad's 09 civic makes the fit feel spacious it's not enough for me.

On top of that I snowboard a lot, play hockey and do many outdoor activities including biking. Constantly borrowing my mothers Pilot to take my friends and our bikes to the city. And just barely squeezing all of our gear and boards onto the roof to go to Vermont for one night. If we were staying for a week there is no way we would have enough room.

I'm looking at a Ford Edge... or maybe a Jeep Cherokee. While this car has done good for me I definitely need some change and something bigger.

nice to see some of the mileages listed with the very little maintenance needed to keep the cars on the road

High Mileage

2008 Fit Sport manual with 208K miles. Had to have valves adjusted, currently having issue with one coil repeatedly failing. Will post to general forum about that problem.

I have an '07 sport with 93,000 miles on it. I changed the coils at 60,000 when I noticed the gas mileage was not doing as well as I thought it should which, of course fixed the issue. I now have it in the shop. The transmission is slipping from 2nd to 3rd gear and the valves need to be adjusted. I have an extended warranty so the transmission repair is covered and as anyone knows, sometimes the clearance needs adjustment so I will pay out of pocket for that but I love my Fit anyway. I am counting the days till I get my car back. I'm driving a 2012 VW Jetta rental and I HATE it!!!

The Fit doesn't have a timing belt it has a timing chain and hardly ever goes bad.

I replaced the sparkplugs on my 07 at 215k and within a week the stutter returned, I suspect it was the 3rd coil from the oil filler cap- when I replaced that sparkplug it was very carbonized. I tried switching it out with an older coilpack that i had, but the stutter continued. I ended up buying a complete set and installing at 219k (now 3rd set of coils -originals + 2). Now at 223k with no issues and better gas mileage-300+ on 9 gallons. figure it's just a routine replacement every 100k -about $300 total for plugs & coils, but an easy DIY. Not sure how you can have a catalytic converter go bad, it's a treated honeycomb material inside of a metal can that the exhaust gasses react with to neutralize/remove some of the nastier pollutants. Sounds like a money grab from a dealer. get a 2nd quote if you are concerned.

Just bought my 07 with 108k on the odo. Engine is CLEAN and runs like a champ. I've owned just about every Honda series motor (D, B, H, F, K but not J) so I know my Hondas and this thing will go another 100k easy without hiccups. Throwout bearing is making just the slightest noise, but nothing worth replacing and probably never will if the clutch/pp doesn't act up.

07 sport here, 185,000. Standard service (as directed by the car.) A few tire swaps, had some problems with front warped rotors, but the original ones had some soft spots or something- after completely replacing them we haven't had the problem again. Both front bearings just replaced after a lot of weird vibration noise from the front. Wife has almost knocked the whole front end off off-roading the car, now it just looks a little depressed in the front. Our newest problem is stalling on cold mornings before the car warms up. Still trying to figure that out- Honda recommended a valve adjustment. I'm suspicious, but we may do it, as it is likely due a valve check anyway.
