High Mileage Fits
I have a baby Fit w 1k. Last two cars were corolla. Gave my daughter my 95 and her hubby still drives it. 270k. Sold my 01 w 196k. Issues, yes. But I've come to expect 5-star dependability. I am optimistic about the Fit from the reports and reading your stories.
My wife's 07 Fit, purchased in May of 06, has a little over 50,000 miles. No repairs on this car only normal maintenance as per the car's maintenance minder. It's good to see how many 07 Fits are still going strong with more than 100,000 miles without major issues.

Yeah, there's a bubble in the clearcoat that finally busted this year (car was first sold in April 2006). Also, being the same Milano Red paint Honda has used since 1992 or before, there is the usual fading to pink on some surfaces, though I'm surprised it started fading after only 5 years or so.
I think the brake pads may have been replaced right before I bought it at 125k, and I haven't touched them since. Clutch has been replaced once, again right before I bought it.
Several of the lights inside the stereo head unit were burned out before I bought the car.
I've done the valve clearance adjustment twice, once at I think 128k, and again at like 145k or something. It almost sounds like it could be ready again. I've never had to replace the valve cover gasket, though, so I almost feel like I wasted my money buying another.
No coolant issues that I know of, and it doesn't burn much oil, either. I've been doing used oil analysis on every change, since I'm stretching out my oil changes, and based on my last run it looks like it burns about a quart of oil every 15,000 miles or so.
It's way overdue for a brake fluid change, but I'm waiting until I have the cash to install some stainless steel brake lines.
Transmission is a bit notchy in 1st and reverse. I've changed the tranny fluid one time, and that helped a bit, but the notchiness is back. I think I'm gonna check my shift bushings before rebuilding the transmission. I think it may need new synchros anyway, though.
Oh, and this is despite the fact the car has been in 3 frontal collisions. Still drives straight as an arrow.

Dent - Sounds like a great car! Do you wax or detail it? I have had a couple minor dings (really road rash). Just wondering about waxing the hood and bumper beyond spray wax.
You have done a great job. Interesting on the collision history.

Thanks
I used to wax and detail my car, but it really needs new paint at this point in my opinion.
What I used to use was some light clay bar on the hood, then Meguiars 26, followed by Meguiars 6...or was it the other way around? Whichever one is the yellow wax goes on last...really nice shine.

Thanks! I think New cars are interesting because we worry so about them. There are some advantages to those miles and paint that has seen better days. I haven't waxed a car since my VW. None were in too bad of shape when I sold them, other than I drive a lot for work. I got the front bumper area done tonight w liquid wax. Put another coat of spray wax on the rest. My 12year old daughter scrubbed New Camry w a brillo pad year's ago. It always had the little scratches but in time no one cared.
143k, haven't been driving my Fit too much because I like the power from my 492whp truck.
I haven't done anything other than what the maintenance recommends. I've done a few valve adjustments but nothing beyond that. Still need a driver side seatbelt, thanks to my dog. Other than that, running strong.
Poor thing is hiding in the garage. The Fit, bike and truck all are there.

I never did my coil packs. Maybe the previous owner did at 125K or before? I do have a misfire-type thing that just cropped up the last couple weeks, but it goes away when the engine is warm, and you don't notice it unless you floor it.
I think my clutch is on it's way out. It's engaging at the top of the pedal. It's been a champ up to this point. Oh well, 146k, and running daily.
Fitty Cent hits 100K
I hit 100,000 miles on December 22, 2013 on the way home from work. Aside from oil changes, transmission drain & fills and tire rotations, about all I've had to have done were a valve adjustment and replacing the coil packs & spark plugs, all around the 75,000 - 80,000 mile mark. Got new tires at 99,000, so I think it's ready for another 100K.

Whats up guys, New to this forum. I just picked up a 07 fit to daily with 180k. Switched from a cooper S. The maintenance was getting too much since I drive a lot.
So far, only issues I have had are the coil packs and transmission mount replacement.
Going to do a valve adjustment when I get the chance. Not sure if the previous owner did.
scratch&dent - What mileage are you getting ? I'm getting about 32 mpg. I'm hoping to get more after the valve adjustment, I read that it helps. Is it true?

Is yours an AT or MT? I have noticed slightly better MPG in AT GD3's if it's mostly freeway driving, I can't recall but they may have slightly different final drives.
The valve adjustment should make a difference! 32 is not shabby. Best I know is some one continually getting 35 but he has modifications. Also he's at 220K so you still have quite a bit of life left in your Fit if taken care of
It's an AT. I was getting avg of 30mpg when I first got the car with a dirty air filter. I installed an AFE pro dry drop in filter and got 32.
My plan is to maximize the MPG on a budget. Do you happen to know the guy getting 35? What modifications does he have?
My next plan is to switch to lighter wheels, I just got a set of 15x5.5 mini cooper r81 wheels (12lbs each) and see if it helps.
I noticed the 16x7 rota grids with falken 512 dropped my mileage to around 28 mpg. I put the stocks back on so I could confirm. My stock tires are these kumho ecowing tires. I did notice that these tires have much less resistance and can cruise a lot easier without much gas pedal pressure.

high mileage
I have a 08 MT Sport with 127500 on it. I had to do the brakes around 65K when the rotors were resurfaced. I had the vtec oil pressure switch going out twice by 85K. I have had the clutch replaced around 80K and the flywheel resurfaced at that time. I had a hesitation problem starting around 60K which after 30K more Honda finally decided it was necessary to replace all 4 coil packs, the plugs with wires, and do a valve adjustment. I had to replace the air conditioning coil and clutch last summer. Now, I need to do control arms and I will replace front and rear suspension as I have a rear shock leaking. I also will need to replace rotors and pads by next oil change, too.
I have done all regular maintenance and oil changes and have been happy with this car and will most likely drive it until it dies, but I have most definitely entered the expensive maintenance stage of its life.
