OUCH! Sad to say though that those pebbles are non-discriminating... Back roads, country roads, city streets alike, those rocks are equal opportunity... Either way, still an OUCH!

Not really what I did to my Fit today. More like what I've been doing the last three days. I know, what's supposed to take 2-4 hours install took me 12+ hours combined. All this work has me burnt out. I think I'm gonna take a break from DIY and enjoy the car a little bit. Still got to get that autofolding with alarm to work.

That looks sweet! I was ready to add that to my list of things to do to the Fit, until I saw the price tag on those things! Wow.

Oh wow, that's not a bad price at all. Hopefully they will continue to sell them for a while as I've got a bunch of other stuff that takes priority over folding mirrors lol

Had that happen to me before seems like the job is going along and run into a hip cup, like a bolt that is rusted or things not lining up. I have to walk away for a while and rethink before I get angry and it takes another 12 hours. Good luck.

Meh drove to work and rolled windows down. Something is in the way. Cant roll the left side all the way and the right side went down and something got un plugged. Blinkers still work but the actuator doesnt work now. Ill check it out tomorrow morning.

same happen to me when i installed those ebay winkers. i dont know why i didnt check before close the door but if you pulled that square holder/clip thingy those wires might be loose and preventing it from going down.

Got a 4" bent shifter extender from Garage Defend on ebay (Garage Defend Super Titanium 4" Bent Shifter Extender Shift Knob M10x1 5 | eBay). Went for a drive and like it. Makes the throw longer but I have a Revo short shifter so it's shorter than it would be w/ the stock shifter. Getting into gear w/ the short shifter was a little stiffer than the stock shifter, and I didn't mind that, but w/ this extender it goes into gear like butter because of the extra leverage. Went w/ a bent one because I thought w/ a straight extender the knob would be too close to the dash & hvac controls in 1st and maybe 3rd gear. Think it will work even nicer w/ a ball shift knob. Probly be picking up a Moddiction Anvil knob soon.

That's neat. I'm definitely liking it, tho I want to switch to a more countersunk round knob. Need a good weighted one. Thinking of going w/ a Moddiction Anvil brushed steel which is 450g or Blox 490g in neo burnt finish to kinda match the extender.

The knob gets hot in the sun left the car outside of work with the top down came out to go home and nearly burnt my hand. Could not shift until I put a piece of cloth over the knob. Looking for a white round one now.

Yeah any metal knob is going to get hot in summer and cold in winter. Don't know if white will help that much cuz this past summer I would use a sunglasses case over the knob when it was parked to keep the sun off it but it still got scaldinglly hot just from the ambient temp. But here's a nice white one anyway - TWM Performance Weighted Shift Knobs - M1 Abrams Shift Knob

Cover the knob with baby socks or mitt when parked. Works fine! I have a Cobb knob on my Rex shifter.
