I have several parts for my Sprintex Install arrive today:

a. VitTuned Barb over MAP holes fitting:

b. Dynomax Race Series Bullet Round Muffler to help lower the noise
on my current 2 1/4 custom exhaust system:

c: AEM Water Methanol Injection System and Inline Filter:

d. USB Cable to download map to either AEM F/IC-6 or SMT-8L (most likely I go directly to AEM F/IC-6

f. Defi Boost Gauge, Water Temp Gauge and Controller:

Hi Shinjari,
actually I drove my Honda Fit everyday,
so I can only work on it on weekend...
I have a backlog of parts that still need to be installed now

Hi Burzpaw,

I actually got advice from fellow member here SlimChriz who had done the Water/Meth Injection system on his Sprintex Supercharged car.

SlimChriz actually built his own water/meth injection system.
I want to make it easier for me so I just buy the AEM kit

The reason is because I had decided that I am going to use larger injector and no longer use the 5th injector from Sprintex kit.
This 5th injector is not accurate (in my personal point of view),
but it do have advantage of cooling the incoming air when it spray
fuel onto the intake elbow.

since I am losing this cooling and since Sprintex is a supercharger without any intercooler,
then the only way I can get cooled air is by
using this AEM Water/Meth Injection system,
this way I can run the same boost (or more with smaller pulley)
and do not have problem with detonation which should enable me
to have more reliable power available.

Thanks

That sounds like a plan. What's the highest boost you can run with the sprintex?

Oh nice! So is it going to be able to make more power than what Sprintex stated(~170) or is it going to make more power available in the lower powerband/rpm and make it more efficient? Or both?

But yea that's good to know for future reference haha. Thanks!

When I had water/meth injection on my WRX my tuner at Cobb recommend using it to prevent detonation only and not to tune for more power with it since the risk of engine damage would be high it the system failed etc...

I actually have no accurate reference regarding the boost from Sprintex supercharger with standard pulley (not to mention smaller pulley),
that is why I bought the Defi boost gauge so I can know accurately
especially since I plan to grind port and polish both the intake elbow
and intake manifold.

Well, the Water/Meth is suppose to prevent detonation at high boost application but since our sprintex were designed with the 5th injector in mind which mean cooler intake charge and were NEVER design with any
intercooler, that mean if I am going to take out the 5th injector,
there is high risk of getting detonation especially in hot day, with the port/polish, Mugen intake and Spoon larger throttle body,
and not to mention smaller pulley when it is available.
so I decided to incorporate the modification on the intake elbow needed to integrate the water meth injection from the start.
Having said that,
I am pretty sure this water/meth will help make more power in the same boost since it will have more dense cooled air... I mean my knowledge and experience is limited in this area since I never do this before...
but I think that should be correct hehehe

I totally agree with you,
I am not going to push the limit on available power
relying only on the water/meth injection...
beside I don't want to add water/meth injection each time I fill up my gas...
I hope it can last at least 3 gas tank fill up for 1 gallon of water/meth
I don't plan to change the engine internal anyway... so this better be a tune for reliability then peak performance...

I was getting around 700 miles out of the gallon of methanol in my car but I stayed out of boost most of the time since it didn't start coming in until 3700rpm or so. The other upside to that was I managed to squeeze 23-25mpg out if a car with 1000cc injectors, bigger turbo, front mount intercooler and external waste gate running 19lbs of boost..

Started to install my OEM cargo liner I got for a steal on fleabay. Center piece installed super easy, remove the 3 headrests...install designated straps and lay flat and attach using the velcro thats stitched into the liner to stick to the upholstry.

Tried to install the side pieces and apparently the velcro I had laying around has the worst adhesive ever. Gum wouldve worked better. The velcro dots kept falling off despite cleaning the surface as directed.

Awaiting better velcro before I can install the sides.

Also ordered my Curt hitch so i can use my newly acquired Kuat sherpa 2 bike hitch carrier. Sold/selling my yakima roof rack to offset the cost. Anyone interested in a yakima snowboard/ski mount?

weather was balmy today at 48 degrees. fellow fitfreaker Cnord got me off my ass and get some stuff done for my car. Did an oil change using Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 with Mobil 1 Filter.

This is how you oil change with a Fumoto valve:

Since the undertray was off and the car is up on ramps, I decided to finally give the AT drain and fill a go. Had to use breaker bar to break the AT drain plug after that it was easy.

Lots of crud on the plug:

Replaced the crusher washer and put it back in. Had issues with the funnel reaching to the AT dipstick because of the 51 battery but managed to reach in there and had to use a second funnel. Somehow the lower funnel popped out of the dipstick hole and good thing I caught it in time before wasting too much fluid. Took exactly 2.8 quarts of Honda DW-1.

Butt dyno already feels better. The transmission shifting is so much smoother. Nothing feels like i broke something.
