2010 Honda Fit new buyer thread! Check in here!
Just got a 2010 Silver base auto on 11/24/09
Only 200 miles on my 2010 so far, but highly impressed. Our other car is an '03 Toyota Echo, a small car I also like (40 mpgs!), but it doesn't come close to the roominess, solid handling and feel of this Fit. (But of course the Fit, at 4K+ more, should be better!) -This Fit thang is a sports car in a mini-SUV disguise IMO, even with just the auto tranny and base-only options!
So I'm gonna have to figure out how to calm my driving exhuberance so as to avoid getting speeding tickets with this beauty! -Car handles much like the way I imagine a less powerful BMW probably would!
I did test drive a less expensive used '07 Fit, but didn't like it especially... It wasn't as firm handling as the '10, and I found the front a bit cramped. I really need the telescoping steering of the '10 as my legs are long and my arms ain't! Also I think the '10, while handling firmer, is also a bit more refined as the engine noise and cabin are quieter.. It's also a bit larger and heavier too...
Only things I miss re not having the Sport (auto) are the map lights, arm rest, and possibly cruise control. (Although I hardly ever used the later when I had it on a rental..) Got the base model tho because of the lesser $$, and I have no use really for 'paddle' shifters!
Anyway, so far, so good. -No, so far, VERY good!! Only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to ~dim~ the dash lights? Gotta be a button or knob around somewhere for this, right?

Since purchase $$ are being posted here, our base 2010 (Silver) model went for $15,858 plus $150 doc fee, plus 7% NJ sales tax, plus $246 NJ registration and plates. we didn't finance it, paid cash (out of savings), so not spending the almost $2K more for the Sport was prolly more important to me than for those of you with stretched out payments.
I didn't get any extras, figuring floor mats, steering wheel leather wrapping, and tinted rear windows (plus a tint band across the top of that high windshield), will cost a lot less aftermarket then getting it at the dealers, no?

I like to support my local dealer. But I like to support me and my 'ol lady even more!!

Just received my 2010 BSP manual sport on Monday! 17,100 with 3.9% got a free A-package(rust inhibitor, fabric protection, underbody coat) because my dealership brought me an automatic a few weeks ago after I already put money down for a 2009 BSP manual sport. So they sold me the 2010 for the same otd price as the 2009 with free A-package. Also get 5 year free dent and ding repair, chipped glass and free loss keys from my dealership.
Mod's on the way that I have just ordered are, t1r s-coils and quick shifter from ajr. and mugen mirror cover, floor mats, and upgraded horn from collegehillshonda. Purchased jdm "RS" badge from a member on this forum, red "H" badges otw.
Future mods will be mugen grill, mugen vent visors, and mugen rims.
also drive a 1999 racing beat miata and 2007 civic si

One cool accessory is keyless entry. The Base Fit has all the electronics, all you need is the remote key and have it cut and programmed.
College Hills sells the key for $40 and if you sweet talk the service dept, they'll cut and program it for anything from 0 to $50. If you just walk in and ask for keyless entry they'll quote you $270.
i'm asian and I build cars for a living. I work for the UAW in a chrysler plant and I drive only imports. That doesn't go down very well with the high seniority workers. I find UAW stickers on my cars all the time.
anyways heres a quick pic I took with my phone

Not if it was installed correctly. There are two bolt holes underneath, not visible from the front. If they perforated the bumper cover putting a screw through the front, they owe you a new bumper cover.
Check College Hills Honda and Majestic Honda for accessories. You can also negotiate with your service dept on prices (don't take their asking prices any more than you would on the sales floor). If you show the the online price they'll usually match it and do the installation. Sometimes through these online sellers, it's cheaper going through their "parts" pages than their "accessory" pages. Shop around!

(And I only just recently had to do the very same thng with my '07 Vespa GT200 scooter's meep-meep horn, only that change was more complicated as I had too open it's legshield and root around inside it to find room for the better horn!

Cheaper Floor Mats?
Can anyone recommend having luck with some cheaper floor mats for the 2010 Fit other than what Honda sells? (Like from Pep Boyz or Auto Zone or sumthing?) They don't have to fit (the Fit?) exact, nor do they have to clip down to the floor either. -Just something that lays there okay and does the job!
I'd like to get something in like a bright red rubber or plastic, so as to break up all that constant gray and silver and add a little color inside!
Suggestions appreciated.....
Thanks,

$71 (plus shipping) at Majestic. They're sculpted to fit the Fit (front and back) and have tie downs that insert in the carpet on the driver's mat (there are cutouts already formed in the carpet to guide this). I haven't priced mats at pep boys but this seemed ok for custom mats. Plus they say "Fit"! Show this to your service advisor and maybe they'll match the price (save shipping). College Hills has them for the same price (maybe cheaper shipping). They are so tailored I don't think you can do as well from the auto parts store:

My boyfriend got me the weather tech mats for my birthday. I'm not sure how expensive the Honda mats are, but for the two front seat, laser cut to fit, weather resistant mats its about $100, plus shipping. For all four its $150, and they are totally worth the money!!!

Doubt if I'll get any for the rear; don't think Dreamer (the Poodle) needs them all that much..
After, waiting for a month my car is ready to be picked on monday. A black 2010 Fit Sport MT, does anyone know if the headlight and fog bulbs have changed from the 09's? because i wanna get a head start in picking up HID kits for the headlights and fog lights.
