2010 Honda Fit new buyer thread! Check in here!
Does anyone else find it odd that the Fit does not come with floor mats? My salesman did not tell me until it was prepped and I was ready to drive off the lot. If I knew that I would have to spend $100-200 for mats I would have negotiated some into my price. Plus, living in Cleveland with all this snow and salt you would think that the dealer would provide something. I love my Milano Red AT Sport, which I picked up on New Years Eve, however, I think the lack of floor mats still irks me. Now I am looking at some mats and would like some opinions. There are the Honda factory carpet and all-weather mats, the WeatherTech digital ones, and the Mugen ones.
We just got a 2010 Blackberry Pearl AT Sport. OTD price including Doc fees was 17255. Probably could have gotten a few hundred more off if I really pushed especially with the 500 allowance but it was the color my wife wanted and we needed a vehicle that night.
We are happy with it and my wife is just loving it (her ride)
We are going through the same thing with mats. I hate how you have to cut up the carpet just to put mats in. We are looking at alternatives. Do like the Digital ones but looks like you have to anchor those also?

I just became a proud owner of a 2010 Base Fit AT in Sensation Blue Pearl. I got it on 12/30/09 at Dublin Honda, CA.
I want to give a shout out to Blueskulker (Greenskulker). I traded in my 2002 MR2 Spyder as well for the Fit. I was also on Spyderchat for years and my user name there was MR2Union. Anyway, It was kinda nice to meet someone in the cyber space who has very similar tastes in vehicles.

I do remember you, albeit breifly. I was not much of the modding type, just enjoyed the car the way I enjoy the Fit. I am about 800 miles into the drive so far, and about the same on the 2010 Civic as well. So far both cars are far beyond expectations. Considering they have had some years to advance design, I can really see a big difference between my old car and what I have now. One thing I have noticed is with the country of Origin, the Fit being Japan, and the Civic (in my case) being Canada, that the "fit" seems to be slightly better on the Fit, over the Civic. Although the Civic, is much more the "solid" car. Cosindering I had a Mid to Late 70's Civic many year ago, they have come a long way.
The weathertechs are nice if you have snow and are constantly tracking it into the car (as is the case if parking lots don't get plowed fast enough). Since it goes to the edge of the floor area, it stops a lot of dirt and salt from reaching the floor -- in my old car with all-weather mats, there would be a ring of dirt buildup around the mat.
One disadvantage of the weathertechs I encountered is that if it's cold enough and you track enough snow in the car, you can get a layer of ice on the mats, and the ridges aren't that high relative to the amount of water the mats can hold. A couple of days I had to break a layer of ice with my boot.
Just bought 2009 Sport Fit MT with 3K
I was lookng for a new base model MT but found a white 2009 Sport Fit MT with 2703 like new miles at the local dealer. It had been sold on a 6 month lease and turned in. They were asking $15,995, I offered $15,100 and they took it. Add to that MN sales tax, $70 doc fee, $37 transfer fee to get out the door. An almost new Sport for maybe less than what I was planning on spending for a base model!
The WeatherTech digital fits don't require any anchoring, though they have molded areas for the anchor points if you have them. I'm using them on my Fit, having never had the anchor points from the Honda all-weather matts. They don't move around because they're custom molded for the floor area.

Well, I almost bought one... Until I found out that nav and stability control were not available in Canada.
I just won't buy a new car without those options. It's 2010.....get with the program.
I'll just hang onto my money, thank you very much...
I'd still buy one, if those options become available... The ball is in Honda's court.

Useless? Navigation is very useful, unless you live in a small town with two streets, and stability control is one of the best innovations since the seatbelt.
Since I do not live in a small town with only two streets I use my GPS unit all the time when I venture into unfamiliar territory.
On my current car, a VW Golf GLS TDI, stability control was a $430 option. Of course I'm going to pay $430 for it! Who wouldn't? It also includes traction control and electronic locking differential (uses brakes to simulate diff-lock) for excellent traction in the snow.
Now that I'm in the market for a new car, I just assumed that stuff was practically standard now. Well, in the USA it pretty much is. The Fit sport comes with it. In Canada you can NOT get nav or stability control even as options...simply not available, and the car costs about $3000 more too!
So, since my car is still perfectly good, I will wait. I do still want a Honda Fit as my next car, but I'm not getting one until they give us the fully loaded one (I mean the REAL fully loaded one, not the Canadian version of fully loaded).
Perhaps by then they'll come out with something better and I'll get that instead. A diesel fit sport would be sweeeeeeeeeet... Time is my friend.

Got an Orange 2010 Fit Sport MT on Monday. With 9 mi! Coulda had Taffeta white or silver Fits in MT. Red was my first choice, but I'm glad now it wasn't available in MT; everyone loves the Orange here. Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie, NY. $16,339, no extras, no accessories, that will have to wait.

Hi guys this is my first post. I put a deposit on a 10 fit sport in manual milano red today. The dealer says it may be months before it comes in here in Canada. I drove a lx auto today and it seemed to be a fun little car. I have a 07 rabbit that the lease is up in July so hopefully the fit will show up before then.
