2010 Honda Fit new buyer thread! Check in here!
Aloha!
Picked up my '10 Blue Fit Sport 2 weeks ago, and I love it!
It's the perfect car for the Islands, for driving and parking!
Paid $18,900 - automatic, and I actually bought the extended warranty (i know, i know), for $900 (4 extra years).
Purchased from Tony Honda here in Honolulu.
Insurance (full coverage) was $830/year through Geico.
Not going to mod it like you guys, have to keep it legal in case my wife needs to drive it on base (pearl harbor).
So far:
Wet Okole Neoprene Seats (Front and Back)
Clifford 1x Matrix 2-way Alarm
35% Ceramic Tint all around (again, gotta keep it Legal)
70% Nano-Ceramic Tint on the Front Windshield (Our Gov FINALLY passed a law for this)
All weather Mats and Cargo
Cargo Cover
Wheel Locks
Pretty Much the Basics.. i dunno though, after looking how swee they look slammed and w/rims.. Hmmm
QUESTION - I am getting CRAPPY gas mileage. NOt sure why, but so far, my MPG gauge has been around 24MPG! Anyone else?

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I traded our 08 Civic EX-L Coupe on a 2009 Fit Sport with navigation. The Civic was nice, but it was time for a 4-door. Our new Fit is white, as was our Civic. We also own an 08 Element, which is our second Element after owning an 06.
We bought the car through AAA car buying service out of Charlotte, NC and it is being delivered today. It has 14K miles and we paid $15k and AAA set us up with a 2.99% interest rate, which matched our credit union's offering. This is the second car we've bought through AAA and will not be the last.
I can't wait for the cut in insurance price, since the Civic was considered a sports car. It's funny, the Civic EX is not classified as a sports car, but the EX-L is. Stupid how heated leather seats make it a sports car.
I am interested in finding ways to hack the nav system and will be searching the forums as soon as I'm done typing this.
Cheers.

Not sure, I would check your tire pressure. I get about 410 miles per fill up and just have a K&N Air Filter.
The other day, after I pumped gas, I drove around for about 80-something miles (just wanted to drive around). I didn't use any highway, just local roads (some of which was sorta "old highway" with stops)... I averaged over 40 according to the car.
Over the next two days of work (I do deliveries, very short hops), I added some 40-50 miles... it dropped to under 32.
The day I picked up the car, I got 33 mpg on just highway... only for it to drop to 27 mpg after a day or so of work and finish out the tank with 29 (that took some work!).
Aren't those Illinois plates?
I'm definitely enjoying my car... though not the experience with the dealership.
Originally picked up the car missing body plugs... went in today to get them installed (for free, since it is SUPPOSED to be installed before I got the car)... came out, missing two bolts for two parts I already had (rear strakes).
Of course, looking at the receipt, it only indicates TWO body plugs were ordered and installed, not four. Now I need to make sure there are two more.
WTH is with this dealer?!?
I'm not going back there... if I'm missing anything else, I rather just order it and put it in myself, even if it costs me money... I mean, it's a 100 mile round trip from my home to them.
Now, I just need to make sure there isn't anything else I'm missing, then order the bolts. *sigh*
PS... next survey Honda calls me with... Planet Honda is getting 1 stars.
I just got back frrom a huge road trip, drove from Manitoba, Canada to Los Angeles, Anaheim , las vegas, back to sacramento, then home, through Idaho Montana and North Dakota.
It cost me $162 on fuel on the way there and $147 on way home.
I drove from Sacramento to LA on one tank and still have about a 1/4 to an 1.8 of a tank left , 417 miles, probably could of got 450 miles out of it
I had no problems driving up the big sierra nevada mountains from Reno to Sacramento. keeping up the V8 sequoia and big trucks!
Luv the 2009 honda fit sport with Navigation, 4500 mile trip and no problems at all.
for online retailers I used honda underground and yourhonda parts
both were very good

I'm usually an easy going guy, I didn't think anything of the service guys I talked to, and think the service manager was a nice guy... They just didn't follow through.
hello fitfreak.net, i picked up a taffeta white sport 5AT on 07/06/10. joined fitfreak.net that same day. got it at power honda valencia in ca during the 0.9% APR 2010 honda clearance.

24.5 mpg
[quote=Goobers;884298]That depends on your driving. Not just the way you drive, but where.
Well I guess living on an island does have its many disadvantages!
My driving is about 20 minutes to work, which includes 10 minutes of traffic on the freeway. After that, it's all City.
Not to mention that I have the A/C blasting.
I only got less than 300 mile on the first tank (the car had 28 miles when we picked it up)

shaka When I got my FIT I was first getting low 30's and no daily commute like you do. Don't worry, it gets better. The ECU is profiling your driving and the cars response. The first 500 -600 miles are the time to take things easy, get to know your new ride. MPG will improve over the first 1500 miles.
Get out of the commute routine on the weekends or afternoon and mix up the driving. Nothing extreme yet, just vary it.
The engine is brand new and all the moving parts are getting close to each other. Things will continue to smooth out and MPG's go up. Just drive for economy. After 2K you'll be a Sport Paddle Expert.
I live in a rural/suburban area and am now averaging close to 40MPG and that's by the numbers. The display is close if my driving is consistent, that is if I pull some city or highway driving it will throw it off. 38 is a good average over the past month.
Looking at your list you're off to a good start. What's with the seats?? And good to see a windscreen tint legal.
Welcome and enjoy your stay.

Mine is fairly new as well. Already racked up over 1k and do 21-24mpg. Line of work is in home healthcare (Physical Therapist) so it does take it's toll on mpg. The good part tho is that instead of shelling out $140-$160/week on gas with the Crosstour. I only shell $40-$50/week on the Fit with the same job task. With the $$$ difference saved by using the Fit instead of the Crosstour... the Fit pays for itself on it's monthly dues

Hopefully, getting my 2010 Fit Sport sometime this week.
After a long search for a new car I have decided to get a 2010 Fit.
I looked at all the Scions, the Kia Soul, the Matrix, The Volkswagen Golf, the Hyundai Grand Touring and Accent, and the new Ford Fiesta. My last car was a Mazda3 hatchback but it got totaled and I do not like how the 2010 one drives.
After test driving the Fit, I like how it drives and looks. The visibility is good and since I do not want a big car or to spend a ton of money on car maintenance, gas, and insurance the Fit is the best choice.
Now I just have to decide on whether I want it with Navigation and the color. Leaning towards the Taffeta White since I have never owned a white car before and I like how the white looks with the black trim around the windows. But I also like the Crystal Black Pearl and the Blue Sensation Pearl.
Just wanted to say hi to every one in the forums. So Hey from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, CA.

Skip the navi - package price not really worth it. Get a Garmin navi.
White is nice but for a few grins you might want to review this thread: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...nion-here.html
What ever color it's still a FIT_

Good advice Krimson Cardnal. Skipping the navi. Placed my order for a white fit sport. I live in socal so hopefully the white will reflect the heat away from my car. haha. I will hopefully get the car tomorrow.
Just got my BSP Fit!

Already put some miles on it.. love it!
Got it from Beaverton Honda.. only place in Portland that would get me the color I wanted with no options installed
Paid $15,130 for the car prior to tax/registration.
