2010 Honda Fit new buyer thread! Check in here!
Just bought my wife a Fit base MT tonight. Wasn't expecting to buy a car at all, until her current ford focus which was for sale failed emmissions. We were given an offer of 1500 for her car from another honda dealer yesterday, went to a new one today because they had a few of them in stock.
The dealer we bough from beat the deal we were offered from the other dealer by a good margin.
Dealer1: $1500 trade in, 2k cash down, total price 15,500 plus tax and fees (around $750).
Dealer2: $1600 trade in, 3k cash down, total price 15,300 incl tax and fees, and I went with the 100k warranty for an extra $1k
Basically we saved about 1k by going to a second dealer with the offer sheet from the 1st dealer in hand. I would have bought a 100k warranty at the 1st dealer anyway.
Add to that that the 2000 ford focus (only owner)with 130k miles, car failed emmissions, one back door didnt open, cracked tail light, was rear ended in 2003, CEL light, and had old tires. The only thing I will say for the car is that it drove nice and was mechanically reliable.
My next thing that i really want for the fit is door clickers, and possibly a remote start.

Took me some searching(well actually only 2 days)- but I picked my 2010 Sport MT White from the HondaWorld by my place a couple weeks ago.
I lucked out because I guess the 5 spds are really hard to find in Cali.
Some dealers were saying that they dont even know when they were going to get them and they have nothing to even show me.
At the time there were only like 2-3 White MT Fits in the state.
But anyway I got mine for around 16200 before the taxes, etc.
I think I got a pretty good deal but after reading some of these posts...
Maybe I should have played a little more hard ball?- At least for some floor mats hahaha!

Just took delivery of my new 2010 Fit Sport in Orange Revolution this past Saturday from Napleton Honda in Lansing Illinois. I had a great experience there, even got to ring the gong like in that show "King of Cars"
I really wanted a 5spd, but I guess they're very hard to find, so I had to "settle" for the 5AT. This is my first auto in a while, previous cars all had 3 pedals the way God intended them to have (2000 Contour SVT, 2005 Crossfire Limited and a 2007 Mini Cooper "S") but I didn't 'settle" on the color, I really like this orange....alot!
I don't have any good photos of the car and with it being stock right now I guess it doesn't really matter too much. I've ordered some Nokya H11 yellow fogbulbs for it though and they're going in this weekend, so its my first mod for the car. I've got plans for 35% window tint, red Honda badging, custom red Honda decals for the centercaps as well as custom Jazz decals made to replace the stock FIT badge as well. Performance wise I'll be playing it pretty close to the vest with this car, replace the muffler with either a Vibrant or Magnaflow and probably the K&N intake system for it, this way the car has some tude', something it really needs!
I look forward to being an active member of this forum

My new 2010 Fit Sport
Enkei Wheels 16x7 (13 lbs each), Eibach lowering springs, carbon fiber trim inside dash and outside door sills, premium stereo with ipod dock, fog lights, body kit, hatch spoiler, A/T transmission with paddle shifters, cruise control, Window Tint on all windows except the windshield. All the custom equipment was installed and warrantee by the dealership. Total with Tax was $19,300. I'm saving $350 a month from my previous car!

Just bought an 2010 ORM Sport MT for 17120 with $800 down. Dealer is still locating mine. Traded an 08 Civic Si. Roommate is moving out and I need the extra money.
I test drove an AT and was impressed with the handling, you guys aren't kidding when you say its fun to drive. Picked up some all weather mats, will probably get sport pedals, mugen short shifter, and arm rest.

I gave up... the waiting in combination with the lack of available VSA for Canadian Fits (even on the Sport) have driven me to instead focus on getting a Hyundai Elantra Touring - the gas mileage on the Touring isn't as good as the Fit, but otherwise it does well in most other comparisons between the two. I'm not at all putting down the Fit, but do question some on Honda Canada's marketing decisions.
Hello all,
We just bought a new White LX. I wanted a Mini Cooper S but the wife was scared to death when we test drove it so that was off the list
Anyway I love Honda's, I see them as Toyota's with soul. Hopefully it'll last us for ever. Well, until I can afford a Lotus Elise
I'm planning on getting some rear splash guards as ours only came with fronts
Also looking to 3M clear protective tape the bumper and hood as I've always found it worthwhile in the past.
Look forward to exchanging info on this great little forum.
Cheers !

It's so GREAT to see so many new and happy owners! I get so excited for everyone all, and then start to gush and want to comment on each and every post. It's STILL the smartest automotive choice I've ever made, and all of you new owners are just learning just how fun AND smart it is to have.
I love to read about the gas savings and good mileage. About the various plans to change the look or handling, and those who are just leaving it stock.
Always interesting to hear what folks used to drive. And what the perceptions are of the Fit after coming from whatever cars people had. Love the surprise factor many people get when saying it's bigger inside than it is outside, and that weird parking thing where we park MILES from the curb or think we are WAY to close to the person in front or behind, only to find we have PLENTY of room to park.
I think I finally figured that out, by the way. Inside, we include that whole long dash and windshield as part of the inside, so the front is very roomy appearing. But from the outside, looking the side of the car, then the long windshield (because of the way the doors and windows are made) appears to be part of the hood. Or not part of the passenger compartment (because you can see the headrests and know that the person sits WAY back there). Like we're counting that dash space twice. Make sense to anyone?

Yup, TW, on the parking! And to think I used to brag about being able to parallel park my trucks pretty much anywhere! I see what you mean about the optical illusion throwing our vision out of whack when we look out front then in back. Interesting observation.
I do hate however that when I'm up to speed on the highway, on a big looping curve to the left I can't see cars coming from that direction because of the roof support/wing window combo. A little of the same thing happens when looking off to the rear right, but at least there I've got the side and rear view mirrors to help me out.
Any thoughts on this, anyone?
I took delivery of a 2010 Blue Sensation Base Fit with MT about 3-4 weeks ago. Came to me with about 38 miles on. I put about 1050 miles on it so far. This is my 2nd Honda. I plan on doing a few mods but nothing major.
PICKED UP A 2010 ssm fit sport nav/vsa M/T 10days ago - sold my 07 sport for 12.5 and made enough money to buy my mugen stuff i wanted and my payment is still only 20 bucks a month more than my 07 payment, yes i started paying all over again, but i know i love new hondas so much i will always have a car payment so i'm glad i have the car i've wanted ever since the nav option showed up in late 08 - here is my thread for more pics / and or see my first fit in my photo albums in my profile

Picked up a 2010 Sport Fit in black yesterday... $16,255. Good price bad price? Good enough to me - plus a decent trade in, and 0.9% financing.
Drove my 2000 Accord EXV6 to the dealer with the intent to just test drive the FIT (even though I knew I wanted one...). 2 hrs later, I'm driving her home. The Accord will be missed but after 10.5 yrs (and meeting my wife, getting married, having 2 kids) and 160,000 miles... it was time.
Very happy... Drove the 50 miles home, and drove her to work 50 miles this morning. Digging it so far. Only thing I miss from the Accord (aside from some power) is the climate control. I love setting the temperature and forgetting about futzing with dials.. oh well. Such is life. Much easier to throw my bicycle in the back of the FIT.

Sounds like a good price to me, especially with that financing. My 2010 Orange Sport Fit MT (I assume yours must have been a MT) was $16,339, no trade in. I could have been more attentive to the financing. Honda had only 4.9% at the time, and I got very slight discount elsewhere. Congrats!
Sorry... Still need to get all my Fit lingo down... Negotiated the price with the internet sales manager, before they knew I was financing or trading in. Price was $16255, for 2010 Black Fit Sport Automatic... This included honda's destination charge. It did not include tax and license fees. Honda has has a $500 dealer incentive (last month I was getting quotes of $16,511) but since they have that incentive this month they are willing to split it I guess. Wouldn't go any lower though. The financing is 0.9% for 36 months or 1.9% for 60 months. Frankly I wasn't going to finance at all... but figured at $167 (only financed 12k) interest over the life of the loan, didn't make sense not to.
So I guess it was a good deal afterall.
If anyone is interested... it's Boch Honda in MA.. and they have at least one more left.

I have had my Orange Revolution Metallic 2010 Fit Sport since Jan. 25 and still have only 1445 miles on it! I need to find someplace to go! However, I'm still getting about 44 mpg when I take it on 80 mile RTs to visit my mother via 2-lane, 45-55 MPH state roads, and then drive her around Poughkeepsie (this is why I switched to the Fit from a Ford Ranger). At home, I drive very little all week -- lots of short trips and by weekend that 44mpg drops to 35 mpg overall. Which is just fine, of course!

As far as the long expanse of glass and the bit of blockage from the way the supports are laid out, I think we have to expect a bit of getting used to it. It's so different from more upright windshield glass that is also pretty much in our face and vertical.
I came from one of the older boxy VW cabriolets, and it had upright front glass, so it was easy to see what is now in a blind spot (small as it is) in the Fit.
However, that very sloped design is far more fuel efficient. The car's overall design is obviously going to be better on fuel than a boxy vehicle like my former VW or your former Ford.
And there are also tech devices that some Fits have or that we might be able to have installed now or eventually that have to do with beeping when we're parking so we don't hit someone or can park closer and know we aren't parked way back. Or the kind of thing that is supposed to help prevent rear-enders that somehow senses cars in front of us and then breaks.
Those things could help with these newer vehicles and their windswept designs.
The car would not seem nearly as voluminous if the windshield came straight down or at a slight rake like older cars. And it IS more comfortable to drive in a vehicle that feels someone open. The Fit doesn't feel cramped, even with a total of five people in it.
We have space in front of us in the front seat, space behind us in the back seat, and space above our heads, even with the higher seating position. This ALL makes for that roomy feeling that surprises us, and surprises our passengers the first time they get into the car.
As far as needing places to go and having low miles on your car? I bought my 09 in December of 08. I have just over 2,200 miles on it. I just recently had to go to the insurance place to sign a form stating that my miles average 35 miles per week.
I'd estimated 4,000 for the first year. They changed it to 7,000 based on some average and if I wanted to keep it lower, I had to go in. Because there IS a savings with driving fewer miles.
At this rate, the warranty will run out before I hit 10,000 miles. LOL!
i just got a 2010 fit sport (automatic) in blackberry pearl this past weekend. sticker price was 20k but talked them down to $16,600 before tt&l, got a 3.8 rating and gap insurance.
car came with some add ons: armrest, pinstripe, carpet floor mats, wheel locks, and the trunk cargo mat.
i love it! first thing i will do once i get some extra cash is tint the windows!

Then I just had to come up with some kind of caption for it:
"The service manager wouldn't honor my coupon, so I ran him over."
