2010 Honda Fit new buyer thread! Check in here!
I just picked up my 2010 Fit Sport MT in Storm Silver last Thursday for $16,300 + tax - trade (a POS busted up Taurus) for an out the door cost to me of $16,000.
(pardon my terrible camera)

So far I love it. I haven't driven a manual in a while (I learned on one but have had 2 AT cars since) so it's taking some getting used to, but otherwise it's a blast to drive.
One thing I have noticed is that first gear is practically non-existent. It's kind of strange and makes me wonder about any low end power the Fit might have. Then again, I didn't buy this car for its power, I got it for the fun drive, fuel economy, features, and price, so on those factors I'd say I got my money's worth.
I'm still trying to find some mats for cheap. I don't think I want to spend $150 on the laser cut Weathertechs, but their cheaper all weather mats look to be more in my price range. Can anyone comment on whether they're significantly better than the OEM all weather mats?

I took delivery of my Blue Sensation Pearl Fit Sport Auto two days ago. So far I really like the car. I'm looking forward to getting 30+ mpg on my 75 mile roundtrip commute, compared to the 19-21mpg that I was getting on the 02 Acura TL-S that I traded in.
The only annoyance so far is the auto lock/unlock settings. I'm either going to disable auto locking altogether, or set it to unlock all doors when shifting into P.
The center armrest was delivered the day before I picked up the car, but I've got to get the right sized hole saw before I can install it.
My friends and coworkers can't believe I went with a Fit after driving around a 260HP Acura for 8+ years. I'm not looking back so far.

This was the first thing I did. There are several options documented in the owner's manual. I wish I could change the way my father-in-law's Oldsmobile locks (perhaps I can, but I've never seen the owner's manual, and GM seems a lot more paternalistic about owner mods than Honda).
After doing a ton of research both here and on Edmunds, I picked up a 2010 Fit Sport, Milano Red, with automatic last Thursday.
I got quotes and went through the usual games with dealers on price and options:
"There is NO markup on the Fit..."
"With my pin stripe, your cost is..."
"The PolyShield adds $399 to..." (Shades of "Fargo")
I finally got a decent quote from a dealer. I paid $17569 + 3% tax, tags, and doc fee (one of the lowest of the bunch). I got the 2.9% rate for 60 months from Honda on the balance after my down payment.
My first choice was the Blue Sensation Pearl, but looking at the two side-by-side... The blue was very... blue. After living with it for a few days, I'm very happy with the Milano Red.
I am going to get a set of all-weather mats online. It appears that cutting the original carpet is required for the floor mat anchor install, much to my dismay.
I have already ordered the plastic mesh for the A/C condenser protection project as described elsewhere on FF.
I've only driven about 200 miles so far, country roads with gentle rolling terrain, and around (a small) town. MPG display indicating 33-35 MPG per trip. I'm looking forward to some highway miles to see what happens.
I do on-site computer repair, so one of the main reasons for the choice of the Fit was fuel efficiency.
The pics were taken yesterday after spraying off the salt that was put down for the snow that missed us here in the Raleigh area.

Well I just got my Storm Silver Fit base model 5 speed. It was so damn hard to find a Fit with a 5 speed. Went to 3 different dealerships and and the only 1 had it. The other ones all had 5 or less Fit on there lots. I do like the sports model, how it looks, but I'm happy on the base. I'll be adding little things to it with in a few months, I hope.
The 2010 models should come with the corrected fuel consumption gauge, so no need to take it in for the TSB software update. As far as I am aware, the only significant difference for 2010 in the USA is that the Sport Nav is no longer available with MT -- probably too few sales to justify that combination.
A good place to check is College Hills Honda for accessories.
The biggest bang for your buck (or rip-off) depending on how you finesse it is the keyless entry. The Base has all the electronics, you're just missing the remote entry style key. That link has the key, but then you still have to get it cut and programmed. Honda service charges anywhere from zero to $100.

1. Buy some flexible black plastic gutter guard at a hardware store, and insert a strip behind the lower grill. Secure it with short, thin zip ties. This will reduce the chances of flying debris damage to you AC condenser. <$10.
2. If it bothers you, replace the stock meep meep horn with a louder trumpet horn from an Accord (plug and play) or a louder horn of your choice (I put in a dual-tone air horn). $15-$40.
Both 1 & 2 can be done at the same time, with a minimum of tools (couple of screwdrivers to pop the fasteners from the radiator cover, metric wrench to remove the horn, and a pair of scissors to cut the gutter guard and zip ties). Assuming you have everything on hand, no more than 1 hour start to finish (more due to wiring, if you go the air horn route).
3. Since you live in sunny southern California, tint the windows to reduce the load on the AC. The Fit has a lot of glass, and a small engine. Give it a break. $100-$300, depending.
After these, it's completely a matter of personal taste, priorities, and $$$. Honda is more than willing to tempt you to part with your hard-earned money. I installed a Honda OEM center armrest, and am very pleased with both its quality and functionality. The Honda center armrest is wide enough for both the driver's and passenger's arms, and gives you a little more storage, complete with a clip in the lid for registration/insurance.
