4000 miles per year? What do you do? Yikes.

I got mine yesterday and it's already got 250 miles.... and that's home from the dealer and one day of work commute. Here's to 20-25k miles/yr.

It's actually less than 2,000 miles a year for me. Some of us need cars to go a LONG way. Some of us needs cars to go a short way.

And that is another great Fit advantage. It works for commuting. It works for occasional necessary trips.

So what do you think about it after your first full day? What does your wife and your children think about it? Was your Accord a 2-door? Sorry, I don't know.

That was one thing I wanted, BACK DOORS. I want all the space the car has to offer to be accessible without a lot of bending and twisting.

I do expect the FIT to last a long time... like i mentioned, I had the accord for 10.5 yrs and 160,000 miles... The dealer was surprised I was the only owner. LOL.

The kids love it - "Look Daddy - it comes with the same car seats we have in the old car!"

Wife likes it, she needs to warm up to it. Regardless, we have a Pilot and that's the family car. This is my commuter.

The Accord was a coupe, but I bought it when my wife and I were dating. It was 7 yrs before we had kids... So this time around, 4 doors was a must. I also race bicycles, so the ability to throw a bike and bunch of other stuff in the back was a necessity. Those things and good gas mileage.

So far I love it... Just wondering if my lower back is a bit sore from the car, or from something else. Missing the Accords lumbar support.

The Ranger was a 4 cyl., 5 speed, basic little truck. I got 20mpg in the winter -- mainly cuz I put 500 lbs in there for weight to compensate for snowy roads -- and 25-27 the rest of the year. These are combined highway/around town.

On this tank with the Fit I'm still above 40 mpg after 128 miles, 100 of that on the "highway," which is only a 2-lane 40-55 mph zone, and about 28 around town, very short trips. I only let it warm up when I am scraping ice, which I was still doing yesterday. Hopefully that's nearly over.

So to answer your question: I've cut my fuel costs in half. Of course, I have to pay for the Fit, but that's OK since I plan to keep it "forever."

I was crying my EYEBALLS out when my dad gave me my stocking and handed me a flashlight, car refreshener then the 2010 Honda Fit pamphlet! Then I got the keys and he brought it into the drive-way from around the corner.

It's excellent! I love how it's so small &you can see EVERYTHING! My ma calls it a "planet car". My boyfriend is going to help me modify my car in the near future (when I have money!). &His older brother can help with the more complex stuff since he's a Honda mechanic.

2010 White Fit Sport AT

Purchased last weekend for $18,600 (includes 7% sales tax) drive out at Gwinnett Place Honda in Duluth, Georgia. Included mats, but no other options. $1,300 less than the dealer I test drove at, Honda Carland, who would not budge from full sticker price.

I really like the car. Considering the armrest, but would like to sit in a Fit with one installed first to see how it suits me. Would like a whole bunch of other stuff, but I will wait to see what I really "need" before spending a bunch.

update

Well - it's been three weeks - 2,000 miles - and still getting 38-40 mpg. Love the car (Black MT Sport). The 90 lb dog fits in the back but haven't tried the 6'3" kids (they are away in college). Great commuter car.

Decided to get a vanity plate for the first time ever - 2BTIED -

about to buy a fit

im new here- but have been looking for a fit for a while. looking for opinions on deals Ive ben offered. local dealer has the one I want, at the color I want (mt sport, shhh on color- dont want to find it gone tmw) and with the costco program, i can get it for 16,470 +TTL (through email, havent gone in person yet) I'm hoping to neg down to 15,900+TTL.

I hope I qualify for the .09 and get them down to high 15, low 16 area, otherwise, it just makes more fiscal sense to get a 5 door yaris at 0% for 60, and about 15,900 comparatively equipped +TTL. anyone know if theres any hold backs now?
