Just got my white 2010 fit sport

I should be out driving. Instead I have to sit in front of my computer to do work. Bummer.

Any thoughts on what accessories I should or should not get.

Do you really need the cargo cover, cargo tray, floor mats etc?

Floor mats and cargo tray, yes. I think the cargo cover looks stupid, and you'd be better off putting the 100 + bucks toward a tinting job. Wheel locks, if you don't have them are good.

mapkook's 2010 TWB MT Sport !

• New Forum member from San Francisco, CA. Got my new TWB MT 2010 FIT Sport model @ Marin Honda (just north over the GGBridge in Corte Madera) where I found out an old college classmate is Manager of Internet Sales ! Took VERY good care of me and got me a competitive price relative to the quotes that I took him from COSTCO and USAA. Accessories added so far include a generic Kragen AutoParts ‘blind-spot mirror’ (for $2.79!), OEM Honda locking gas cap, and floor mats. Intend to add new shift knob, OEM Honda cargo cover, tint the rear 5 windows, and a few other mods right away. Still planning suspension and engine upgrade mods . . . . . . .

LOVE this car so far!
Driving is FUN again!

The all weather floor mats are awesome and well worth the $130.. expensive for mats but they fit the car perfectly.

I opted against the cargo tray and cargo cover.. going to tint it out..

As for the tray.. I saw a guy here used some rubberized floor mat stuff cut to fit.. that's what I'm going to do.

Finally picked up my 2010 Fit Sport M/T BSP on Friday! 3-months after I ordered it! apparently it's a rare car, and it takes a while for them to get from Japan to Florida.

this is my 4th Honda so I knew what to expect as far as quality. So I love it so far! 300mi on it and my avg gas mileage indicator is saying 43mpg! there are certainly some things I don't like about it, but they're all things I can get used to.

I don't really do any modifying.. kinda got over that phase in my mid-20's when i realized how much money i had spent on wheel, susp & engine mods.

These are some thing I plan to do:
-Gorilla wheel locks
-OEM mud flaps (on rear at least, I will try to make them fit on front)
-Tint windows
-Mesh screen in front of A/C condenser.. (scared me after reading that post)
-Draw-tite Hitch (for a platform style bike rack)

Red face gas mileage

When I first got my fit it averaged around 30mpg. For some reason my mileage goes up or down depending on if I am driving on hills or flat areas. Driving down hills I averaged 40mpg today the most I mileage I have ever had from my new Honda Fit. Then I reset the gas mileage indicator and drove home from the grocery store and I averaged 35 miles per gallon. I also put in Shell gas I think that was a better quality gas than Arco but I could be wrong.I have just over 1200 miles on my car now and it seems like the more miles I drive the better my gas mileage is getting. Maybe the engine needs to break in before the gas mileage goes up. I was so happy when I got 40mpg today.

It's the perfect car for the Islands, for driving and parking!

Paid $18,900 - automatic, and I actually bought the extended warranty (i know, i know), for $900 (4 extra years).

Purchased from Tony Honda here in Honolulu.

Insurance (full coverage) was $830/year through Geico.

Not going to mod it like you guys, have to keep it legal in case my wife needs to drive it on base (pearl harbor).

So far:

Wet Okole Neoprene Seats (Front and Back)
Clifford 1x Matrix 2-way Alarm
35% Ceramic Tint all around (again, gotta keep it Legal)
70% Nano-Ceramic Tint on the Front Windshield (Our Gov FINALLY passed a law for this)
All weather Mats and Cargo
Cargo Cover
Wheel Locks

Pretty Much the Basics.. i dunno though, after looking how swee they look slammed and w/rims.. Hmmm

QUESTION - I am getting CRAPPY gas mileage. NOt sure why, but so far, my MPG gauge has been around 24MPG! Anyone else?

Just ordered it...

2010 BSP Sport Navi

Got a few bells and whistles (the totally unnecessary interior illumination was mandatory!) but mostly am just glad to be back in a Honda after 4 years in a Ford Exploder.

Hope it gets here this week... 3 left in our region...

I like the interior illumination

It's helpful and not too bright at night. Just something to help me get situated. My husband loathes interior lights because he feels it's like an advertisement that you're getting into your car.

I don't drive too much at night, anyway, but I get up early for work and it's starting to get darker.

I really like that Blue Sensation Pearl. Very nice!

Brand new Fit owner

I just got my white 2010 Honda Fit Sport M/T. I have already ordered a K&N intake system for it and planning on tinting the windows darker. The tint from the dealership just isn't enough. I am planning on ordering the HKS exhaust here in the next couple of weeks, as well as, some black Enkei RPF1s to go with a drop within the next few months. I've been in contact with JDP Engineering as well, regarding their front lip, rear diffuser, and vented hood for possible upgrades. I have also contacted Weapon-R about their possible intake manifold and inquired if they have plans for any other performance parts. I saw on their site that they are releasing the i-THROTTLE. I might have to look into this, I was planning on getting the Blitz throttle controller but I'll have to do some comparisons now. Any opinions on these?

So, far I am extremely pleased with the car. I am so glad that I ordered and waited for the M/T. It took three months to get it here in Arizona, but it was well worth the wait. I am on week one right now and averaging just over 40mpg on about 40% city and 60% highway. Sorry for the rambling, but this is the first new car I've bought since my 2003 Civic.

lol...congrats on your purchase, on the TW 5MT but why would you spend so much money on mods? you will decrease your gas mileage and waste a lot of money!

I just wish the salesman would have explained to me having a MT would give the better gas mileage. I drove a manual before I married my husband and would have bought that car over the car I currently have. I felt like the salesman was partly dishonest. He was telling me how he had customers getting 40 mpg in the Fit he just left out the part where you need a manual. I wonder how much I would lose if I traded my automatic Fit for a manual Fit? I have 4500 miles now. I feel so bummed out.

Don't give up on the AT. You'll see good mileage. You'll loose a bundle if you traded-in, more than the minimal fuel savings would be.

Life is good - you have a Fit.

Hi Everyone!

I just bought a taffeta white 2010 fit sport with navi last night. I go to pick it up today and I must say that this site was one of THE most helpful sites when I was trying to figure out what to expect and what prices to shoot for.

I ended up paying $19,200 OTD including the 5yr 100,000 warranty with the 5yr 60,000 mile maintenance package. I also got the door edge guards, wheel locks, mats, and cargo trays. That price also included the trucking fee since it was nearly 400 miles away!!! They also threw in 4 free oil changes with no expiration date and 3 free tire balance/rotations with no expiration date since my warranty covers the first 60k miles anyways.

Negotiations took almost 4 hours, but I think I got a really awesome deal. What do you guys think?

I pick it up after work today and will post photos.

I am so happy to be a part of your community! Thank you so much for all the help!

Well, I purchased a TW base with A/T. I have had it right around a month and am loving it. I got the floor mats and cargo tray due to being in the Army and stationed in the NW. I have also built my own cargo cover with plywood and carpet. I also just got some tint put on yesterday.

I picked up my TW Sport this Monday evening. M/T, of course (my preference).

I had actually gone around to my local dealer to see if they had a CR-Z in (which they did), and to my surprise, some M/T Fits (usually, they have all A/T).

Test drove both of them, and had the salesguy run some numbers on a Fit for me for reference.

I'd been considering getting a Fit for the past few years, but as they seem to hold their value in my area, wasn't 100% on buying a used one.

As above, I ended up picking out a TW nearly right off the truck (hadn't gone through the pre-sale inspection yet).

No mods (yet), no big plans (yet?). I'll likely get some Weathertech mats. It was raining when I picked the Fit up, and I'd forgotten to ask whether carpeted floor mats were optional, beforehand.

I bought Chevron plus gas instead of Shell regular and my mileage is now averaging 33 around town. I don't know why Chevron gas gave my car 2 more miles to a gallon but it is good

I'm now on day 2 with my new girl, and love her dearly. But I can totally agree she needs some window tint. It's like a little Terrarium inside of there!

Hilhi, thanks for your service my friend, I was stationed at Ft Lewis back in the 90s and loved it dearly. The Sunday brunches over at the AFB were awesome, and the Rainer Beer ("The only beer we drink here") tour was easily one of the best parties I ever went on!

Does anyone know if the Weathertech are worth the premium over the OEM all weathers, and if so, is there ANYWHERE to get a discount on those puppies, or is $187.90 as good as it gets? Is it me, or does the carpeting look a lot like sprayed on fiberglass? Someone needs to make an aftermarket molded carpet for the fit that is actually carpet...

Silver, I totally agree, the LEDs are really smooth and just enough brightness in the dim light.

I also agree with LeAnn, Thanks FitFreak members! You helped out a ton!

purple Big discussions on the forum on type/grade of fuel to use. Between that and oil choices they are the most discussed/argued issues going today.

I run regular fuel from high volume stations. What impressed me with my new FIT was how the MPG's rose as I broke-in the engine. At 8kmiles they've seemed to level off at 40MPG based on my driving profile. The ECU will 'learn' how you drive your Fit and provide the best economy it can to fit your style.

Keep doing what you're doing and you'll see 36MPG soon enough - then more.
