I would be willing to bet they are the same or very close to the 2007/08

2008 vs 2009

The 08 drag air, the 09 is aerodynamic and that means much better mpg especially at higher speeds. One other thing "all wheel drive".

...how the heck would anyone know that? Although I remember seeing someone with a Japanese '08 Fit here at some point. I guess you could track him down. Maybe with an extra 10bhp, the new Fit can cruise at lower RPMs.

In doing a quick look at photos, I think at least some of this comes from a more rounded bumper/front end on the '09. It would be easier to see in person or from a top view, but in the pictures above, it appears the '09 has a significantly more rounded front bumper from side to side, leading to a pointier front end. IF that's the case, that would in part explain why a front quarter view like the photo above doesn't look bad. From this angle you see that the nose tapers back as you move away from the center-line of the car. In profile/silhouette, though, that taper isn't visible and makes it appear that the whole bumper juts out that far. It will be interesting to see if a walkaround of the car still gives a long-nose impression or if when viewed in 3 dimensions the nose looks more proportional.

For the record, when I saw the 07 Fit for the first time in person I thought it had no nose at all. Almost any car in comparison will have a "long" nose.

Prelude anyone?

To all those who care about this topic, heres my point of why the North America 09 fit would have a longer nose than the 09 jdm fit. Because of bumper regulations here in North America, you'll notice that all cars in North America have bumpers that stick out awkwardly. Since its a law, the honda fit also have to obey. So they have to design their bumpers to pass the bumper regulation law, in which the bumper will stick out at the back. If the bumper sticks out at the back and they didn't redesign a longer nose in the front, the car will look disgusting. So to keep the car looking proportional, they have to give the North America 09 fit a longer nose.

Unhappy 2009 honda fit is Perfection in all the sense of the word.

Go for it guy, I only bought the 2008 sport May this year because I thought it was in it's second year of production. I don't like the fact the honda seller didn't even mention that. Had I known It was it's 7th year I would had waited. For now I'll have to wait a little bit, because if it's like they say "no sunroof" it's still not time to buy. But as soon as I see they do the right thing and bring it in with all the powers I'll go for it myself. It doesn't make sense to pay another 69 months for a model which is 7 years old, It's only fair to pay for new technology. I already bought and installed most of the accessories from different sites at good prices but I'm not spending another cent. bummed out.

I was reading about the comparison test of the mazda3 wagon against 5 other cars and also a 2 car comparison with the cooper and the all wheel drive stuck in my head. When I mentioned all wheel drive for the fit 09 I could have sworn I had read it usind Ask.com Search Engine - Better Web Search then 2009 honda fit and looking up what everyone had to say. So it seem's like I mixed up this feature in my head and wrote it in. I looked for it again and didn't see it so I definitely messed up, I'm sorry for the wrong info my age has caught up with me. But I'm still a kid at heart and love to make my cars look very sporty. 3 RX-7's, 2 Rav4's and now the fit 08 and soon the 2009 or later the 2010 fitmachine that makes every competitor look simple. I really like it.

Tail lights will ...... Head lights will not without a bunch of parts to convert the front end over to the JDM one

Does anybody know how much less dealer cost on these are? Particularly a Fit Sport (either transmission). Reason why I'm asking is because I work at a Honda Parts Warehouse and I can buy any new model car for dealer cost, and I plan on getting the Fit. I would really love to get an '08 model but I have to get whatever is currently in production. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

**Sorry for posting this on two separate threads, didn't know which thread was more relevant.

The SOONEST the dealer is able to get me an 08 5-speed FIT sport is September 7th.. Will the 09 be out by then because I'm really digging all the updates they are making.... as much as i really liked the 08 (which doesn't feel like a 7 year old car at all)... I'm VERY excited to test out an 09!!!
