The SOONEST the dealer is able to get me an 08 5-speed FIT sport is September 7th.. Will the 09 be out by then because I'm really digging all the updates they are making.... as much as i really liked the 08 (which doesn't feel like a 7 year old car at all)... I'm VERY excited to test out an 09!!!
The local dealers first 09 is being manufacture on August 6 for delivery middle of September.

No refresh mode?

One nice feature in Honda Fit is the refresh mode, which allow passengers to sleep or stretch their legs by combining the front seats with the back seats. But it seems that the refresh mode is missing in the US version of Fit. Am I correct?

No, all Fits have the refresh mode.

refresh mode never came back

But according to the official home page of 2009 Honda Fit, there is only three interior modes of configuration. Please take a look at 2009 Honda Fit - The Official Honda Web Site

Also the Honda salesman in this Youtube video clip also did not deny the refresh mode is missing in the US version of 2009 Honda Fit:
YouTube - Auto Show: 2009 Honda Fit

I believe there will be no refresh mode / dirty mode, unless you bought one from Japan.

Nice detective work! You very well could be right. Refresh mode just allows the front seats to fold back close to flat, it does seem a little odd though that the JDM front seats would fold flat, but not the USDM. The did however upgrade the front seats to use a larger frame and more supportive padding in the USDM model and thought that was the same for JDM?

Keep in mind, that the 09 Fit webpage is still on the "Future Models & Concepts" page without all of specifications listed.

The link below shows that one of the 3 modes mentioned is the long mode. If the passenger seat folds flat for tall mode, shouldn't it do the same for refresh mode?

From: 2009 Honda Fit Preview from HondaPreview.com
"The seats offer multiple seating and cargo-carrying configurations (tall object mode, long object mode and utility mode) in addition to the standard five-passenger mode."

You may want to watch the youtube vid again. The Honda spokesman clearly states there IS refresh mode.

Yes, that's our concern, but we will test fit a set to see if they do fit. I pre-ordered an 09 Sport, it should come sometime in October.

$250 at one dealer and $100 at another. Price in both cases is MSRP for the auto.

Just a regular deposit. I read (somewhere here) that someone that someone put only $200 down.

To add to this, my dealer isn't taking actual cash deposits on the 09 Fit, but is building a waiting list. The GM I spoke with (friend of a friend) said they aren't doing since they are certain they can sell every Fit they can get shipped in and aren't worried about getting "stuck" with them.

Pre-order for a Sport Milano Red

Today I did what more of you folks are probably doing - putting a deposit down on a 09 FIT. Milano Red AT Sport. Dealer in Oregon said that the it will be built on August 20th and should be ready for pickup mid-September. Passed on the VSA+Navi option - will get my own portable Navi. Wish I could have gotten VSA. But, Yes, I'm pumped.

No, he didn't say that there is refresh mode. The interviewer knew that refresh mode is gone so he deliberately asked the Honda spokesman about this. But the Human spokesman refused to answer this question directly, but said something meaningless.

For what it's worth, Left Lane confirms the Refresh Mode for the 09.

And with the stock wheels...

Can you make this TW with black body kit, hood, and spoiler and vise versa? I have been thinking about making black and white 09 fit. I am going ask around in winter/spring time if anyone (with the black) wants to swap parts with me.

the Human spokesman does indeed say there is refresh mode at 0:41 seconds in. YouTube - Auto Show: 2009 Honda Fit

Granted, either the Jerry Seinfeld impersonator is not that great at formulating a complete sentence, or Expo TV has a lousy editor.

Yesterday, my wife and I put down a $100 deposit on a TW Fit Sport Automatic. Dealer indicated price would be MSRP, and the car should arrive within a month.
I contacted most of the other dealers in Oklahoma prior to putting down the deposit, and only one indicated the MSRP for a Fit Sport Auto would be $16,900. None of them would comment on options (VSA or Navi) and their pricing.
