Just got back from the dealer. Hall Honda in Virginia Beach, VA. Went to three dealers and they were the only one with any in stock.

I traded in a 2007 Mercedes SL550.

Purchased an Alabaster Silver 2015 Honda Fit EX with CVT without the "pro package."

Selling Price 18,840.45 (started at 19,787 with the pro package installation)
Taxes 787.30
Tag Transfer 22
Processing Fee 599
20,248.75 out the door
23,300.00 for my trade (they started at 21500 for my trade)

With their first offer I only got $126 back. I said no, after a couple of back and forths, they asked what will it take to buy this car tonight and I said I want your car plus a check for $3,000 for mine. After what seemed like some quick deliberations they said yes. I was a little surprised. Thought I would have to play hardball a little longer. I guess I should have asked for $4,000. CarMax offered me 23,000 for my Mercedes. And all the online sites had it pegged in the low 20,000's. All in all pretty happy with the deal. I also refused all items in the Finance Manager's room. 1st time I managed to pull that off when buying a car. Pick up the car tomorrow and the check later this week.

Now to find a good place locally to get clear bra and window tint installed.

I just sent several emails out asking for bids....out the door pricing

All the dealers here add around $1900 to sticker for the $600 wax job, $300 door edge guards and on and on. I finally found a dealer who was unloading them from the truck, so got it with nothing added. Paid sticker, $16,000, but got full high KBB trade in. That was $2,000 more than 5 other dealers would give me. So, pretty happy with the deal, especially considering what the others were trying to do with their bs add ons.

For my EX-L with navi I paid: $21,590; $368 fees, registration, license, etc.; $1950 CA state tax for a total of $23,909. Minus $11,500 trade-in on my 2008 CRV. Found a set of wheel locks in the glove compartment that they must have forgotton about because they didn't charge me for those.

2015 Fit Ex with nothing added but standard options. Alabaster Silver.

I got it through Autoland for $20 lower than MSRP. Woo hoo! Man, it was really hard to find one in stock and no one is dealing on price. All the dealers are adding extras that cost way more than they should.

GK price LX CVT

6/28/14 bought a LX CVT with no extras in Las Vegas NV.
Dealer price 17,115 I think. No haggle price paid was 16,951
add 499 doc fee, 1435 tax, 28 title, wrote a check for 19171 total.
I was so glad to get it, and I'd hounded them so long to get it in, I didn't have the nerve to negotiate the price at all.

Re; mpg I have 3016 miles and mpg average on the gauge is 41. this is almost all hwy miles. A/c off going up hills, some 60-65 mph (usually 73 mph).
I'm lovin' it so far!

Congrats to three new GK Owners. Ya all got the deals and specific models you all were after (Sas.......09 was able to get the options originally was waiting for). Nothing better than driving home in the "perfect" Fit.

havnafit, you gotta tell us how the A/C works in the Vegas heat!!!

lawbruin, about three weeks of driving now. How is it doin???

Sas0002809, that dealer really wanted your business and went out to find a way to please. That would make a satisfied buyer. Gotta give them a good rating when you get the Honda Customer Survey.

Okay guys, the niceties are over. Time for ya'all to post pics (and impressions). Am looking forward to the posts. Enjoy the drive(s).

We paid about 30,000 for ours. makes me feel warm and fuzzy enough to want to commit suicide. That's with a 2000 trade in on a car that we still owed 3000 on. We since canceled like 4000 in extra crap. But still, that's expensive as shit. This is why you read everything before you sign, even when you're being pressured to let the finance manager go home.

Sigh.

How reliable are truecar price paid charts? Some paid around $16,500 for LX in Dallas area. I will try getting quotes instead of going to dealer. Their initial quotes ($20,000 + for EX even before tax) are big turn off for me.

ouch....

I have learned from my experience in buying new cars that if I am not happy with the number at the end, I just walk. I don't sign until I see the final number.

I never used it before, but I heard that they are pretty good with the #.
