2015 Dealer Price...and What You Paid
This is for a 2015 Fit EX CVT
MSRP: $19025
Price Paid: $18,525 (before taxes and fees)
After reviewing this thread and seeing others getting a Costco price at $100-150 over invoice, I decided to go that route. I got an appointment with San Leandro Honda through Costco, and went in with the intent to buy. Instead of presenting the Costco price like they agreed to do, they started in on how the difference between invoice and MSRP don't give any leeway so the Costco price is the MSRP, and they commenced the haggling process insisting on $300 over invoice.
Fortunately that morning I also went onto Edmunds and got a Price Promise of $500 off MSRP at the same dealership, which from previous Price Promise research, $100 seems to be the norm for CVT (manual's seemed to be easier to get $500 off MSRP), so I thought it was quite fortunate and I printed it off and brought it in.
They started in on some dialog saying that was a mistake and it shouldn't have been listed at that price and some other talk seeming to try to get me to rescind it, but eventually just went back to let the manager know why they were selling it below invoice.
All in all after reading through these forums over the past month, I feel lucky to get the model level, and color I wanted on the first try, and at a really good price.

It was around $20.5k all included (SF tax rate)
I have dealer trying to charge $349 for just mudguards and wheel locks! Crazy even if I bought on the overpriced Honda site it would only cost me around $160...
He told me "the mud guards and wheel locks they're already installed on the vehicle and have been billed to the car so there's nothing I can do to over come that cost." that seem legit?

I had a dealer pull that on me when I bought a Subaru Forester. After a bit of haggling they left the add on's there & didn't charge me for them. I was prepared to walk out. Kind of a dirty practice if you ask me.

Mine has $699 for the Protection Package that includes Wheel Locks, Cargo Tray and Splash Guard Set. I have the actual dealer installed cost sheet and that shows the price as $345.16.
The way to overcome the dealer add-ons is to either offer to only pay dealer cost and not the markup or order the car you want and specify no dealer add ons.
In December 2008 we bought a 2009 Honda CR-V EX and worked the price of the dealer add-ons down from $1699 to $400.
On my new 2015 Honda Fit we ordered the car with no dealer add-ons.
I have since ordered the Protection Package items from HandA-Accessories

I think this is a good deal - would like your opinions please
Hi all!
I'd like your opinions on whether or not these are good prices that a dealer offered me, these prices are the discount off of MSRP + $80 Doc fee (does not include Tax, license or title fees so it's not quite OTD price). I asked if there were any dealer add ons or charges for additional installed items and they said no.
2015 Fit LX automatic - $16,519 ($596 below MSRP)
2015 Fit EX automatic - $18,468 ($637 below MSRP)
These amounts were from a car buying program/service and were not from me negotiating anything.
Do you believe I could do any better negotiating or should I go with the above?
Thanks for any advice!

It seems the demand for Honda Fits presently outstrips the supply of these wonderful little cars. The time that a Fit spends on a open auto transport trailer is about all the rest its likely to get for the remainder of its life. In many cases, individual cars are sold even before they are rolled off at the dealer's lot. None seem to remain unbought more than a day or two after being prepped.
Few of us like it, but when high demand entices sellers to price their goods at higher than MSRP, the merchandise is still eagerly snapped up. It seems a wonder that so many people are reporting Honda Fits purchased at below Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP).

I often try to illustrate whatever point I am trying to make. The cartoon below does NOT really illustrate my point... but I thought it was so neat, I included it anyway!

2015 ex-l msrp-$20,590
I test drove this car yesterday, and the "Truecar price" (they don't negotiate) was $20,450, they only have 3 in stock, 2 LX (MT) and the one EX-L CVT. I would prefer an EX-CVT, with the cloth seats. Anyone in the Nashville area have any luck with anyone besides Darrell Waltrip Honda or Crest Honda? They are both crazy low on inventory. Also I noticed the engine/transmission screaming in first gear is that normal? Thanks everybody.

If you are referring to how it sounds when accelerating hard, Edmunds made note of the engine "drone" at those times: http://www.edmunds.com/honda/fit/2015/road-test.html
.
When you're driving hard in a Fit, the noise you are hearing should make you think of the marvelously simple engineering principle that is at the core of your Fit's continuously variable transmission (CVT.)

Would you really rather have a much more complex transmission that cost more to manufacture and fix, gave poorer gas mileage, and was perhaps a little bit quieter?
-----------
Do you think that the guy sitting in the cockpit of an F-15 is complaining about the noise when he kicks in the afterburner? I don't think so; I'd bet he can't stop smiling!

----------------
When I was a kid, my dad drove a Buick that had a Dynaflow automatic transmission:

Sixty five years later I still remember the very unique loud whine that beast made while accelerating. Fairly recently I was out on the street when some guy came tooling by in his now antique Buick. When I first heard the sound a block away, I already knew what car I was about to see roll by. It was wonderful!
If everything were meant to be completely quiet, of what use would our ears be?

First time Fit buyer, super happy and excited, just drove off the lot yesterday. A big thank you to everyone posting in this forum, I was able to drive off the lot here in the DC area with my new 2015 Fit LX CVT for 18k total out the door tax title everything. Everyone's posts here helped me feel pretty damn good about what I paid so figured I'd register to say a big thanks!
So, the screaming I heard in the "first cvt gear" as I climbed a hill from a dead stop, was normal? Id appreciate any real world answers. But hey, great link to the Edmunds review, and great Buick story/Fighter jet analogy.......
Every car--indeed every piece of machinery--is a collection of compromises. In the Honda Fit, I am happy to put up with a bit more transmission noise to get better efficiency and gas mileage. I am OK with getting a slighly rougher ride on the rear axle, since the absense of rear struts gives much greater cargo capacity. I am OK with carrying around less body insulation and weight in my LX model. I'm not expecting the hushed ride and incredible comfort of a luxury car----I spent well under $20K. What technology I did get for that very reasonable price was WAY more than is found in cars costing thousands more. The new Honda Fit is a great deal.
