I just got a letter from my dealer saying they'll give me 2,500 towards the payoff of my 2012, or the purchase price of the 2015. This is like their 3rd attempt with incentives to get my 2012 and get me in a 2015. Hmm. LOL.

You know, an offer like that means absolutely nothing. They can give you $2500 in credit to pay off your 2012 and then give you $2500 less than market value in trade, or charge you $2500 more for the purchase price of the 2015.
For that offer to mean anything you need to know, how much will you value my trade at? And what is the actual purchase price of the 2015 including doc fee and any dealer added accessories.

Nice drive home

We have been looking at something new(er) to replace our 88 Civic Wagon. Narrowed the search to the 2015 Fit, after passing on the chance to buy a new 2013 at much less than MSRP.

Finished buying a new 2015 Fit LM 6 MT a week and a half ago, after finding it online. I had paid a $500 deposit (credit card) by phone to hold the car for me about 10 days earlier. The car was at the dealer then, with pictures of it on their lot. It was only a 600 mile drive home, over 2 days, after I finally got to dealer a week and a half later and was able to finish the deal. The car was waiting for me, no problem. Nice road trip / break-in opportunity.

MSRP $16315 including the $790 factory Destination & Handling charge

Dealer advertised price $ 15997 includes Splash Guards installed and the D&H charge
(advertised at this price on both their website and the Cars website)
..........

Price paid $ 15997 (includes the $500 deposit I gave over the phone)
DMV temp tag $ 30 (car purchased out of state)
No other add-ons, no trade in, no other dealer or misc. charges.
.........

I get to deal with my local DMV on the Sales Tax and Registration before the temp tag expires next week.

No run-around at the dealer. No surprises ( I had asked questions before by phone and email). Total time at the dealer was about 1 1/2 hours, including test drive, inspection and paperwork. I just wrote a check, as I already had financial arrangements made.

I highly recommend the dealer and salesman...John Klein at McMinnville Honda, about one hour southwest of Portland in McMinnville, Oregon. They will even pick you up at the airport.

2015 Black Fit, CVT

Thanks for the posts everyone. I benefited greatly from the info. Here's mine....

2015 Black Honda Fit LX w/ CVT (no mats/liner/locking lugs)
Vehicle price $17000.00
Doc fee $80
Sales tax $1537.20
AVRS $ 20.50
Veh Lic Fee $111.00
Reg/Trans/Title $101.00
Tire fee $ 8.75

OTD $18858.45

The only fees I did not know about gong in were the Doc fee and the AVRS. The rest came up on the DMV estimate, (click here https://www.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculator...VehicleForm.do ), albeit about $7 lower.

I got it at Honda of Down Town Los Angeles. Nice guys but they'll work you over if you let them.

Happy cruising!

Thanks for sharing this Raziaar. I have been to this place for test driving Civic and Fit recently. I just ran away after test driving with kind of prices coming out of their mouths. He quoted me $20,500 + for EX and another $1750 for add on stuff. Their prices are very bad even for Civic and Accord which are abundantly available.

Just be patient and you will get it below MSRP. I still don't have my blue Fit yet, but I am getting offer from a dealer at $18,5xx for the EX CVT - Modern Steel Metallic (car + destination). If I am going to spend over 20k for it, I will wait until I get the color and price I can accept...

From Mini to FIT

I traded my 2010 mini cooper for a new EX-L. I was completely swindled into buying two accessory packages I did not need. I tried to get the dealer to remove them and first they gave me some crap about all dealers in CA having them...nope..I told them I have been researching and they are the only dealer with this added on security package. In the end they offered me a bit more for my trade, and my monthly payment didn't go up that much so I just gave up and kept the extras. Would have saved me about $2,000 if they were removed though. Here is the breakdown:

2015 Red Honda Fit EX-L w/ CVT
Vehicle price $20,590
Doc fee $80
"protection plan" $695..trunk liner, "mud" guards and wheel locks
Theft code $299..to activate the security box I don't need only lasts 3 years
Security System $595...stupid extra security system added only active 3 years
Sales tax $1780.72 (which includes of course the 2packages I don't need)
Veh Lic Fee $144.00
Reg/Trans/Title $131
CA Tire fee $ 8.75
Subtotal before trade, $24323
Traded 2010 mini, owed after trade $1580.94
$2000 cash
down payment after trade: $419.06
OTD $23,904.41

As you can see, I really could have done without the $1,700 dollars in extras but they refused to take them off, just offered me more for my trade but not much more...oh well love the car!

Hi everyone, I'm new to fit freak and well I've been lurking around for the past 6 months waiting for my car like most people here.

I'm glad to say I finally got my fit. 2015 Honda Fit EX CVT - in Blue. I live in Los Angeles and I paid 21,050 OTD. I know it's not the greatest price and that also included this "Karr" anti theft system that's written down for $200. Fyi, the karr system hasn't been installed yet. Do you guys think there's a chance that I can just get a refund or something like that for the karr?

What is the "karr" systems features? Your Fit is equipped with an immobilizer and a anti theft alarm from the factory. Other than the upgraded shock sensor it doesn't need anything else for a alarm.
