I don't like my current engines lifter noise and it only has 10,000 miles. The other thing I don't like is how loud the car is over roll. I can close the door and I always feel that the windows left open.

 

Is the sound of the lifters at start up or continuous?

 

Had car for over a year now and still miss previous cars ability to lock doors before passenger closes door, car isn't locked unless all doors are closed. Now I do it with a double click and hear the horn beep, while walking away.

 

It's continous. Just noisy valvetrain. Aparently it's not anything to worry about but compared to my previous fit, it's definitely more noisy and sound lose.

I hear it especially under load with radio off.
The dealer said they could do a valve clearance check if I really insisted but I don't like the idea of getting potentially new problems due to sloppy mechanic than the curreny noise I hear (with radio off).

 

Now that it has turned cold, actually freezing, there is condensation INSIDE the car, all over, where it is freezing INSIDE the car and I have to scrape it off as I do the outside windows. I was told by the dealer that "this is what happens when it gets cold because I am bringing in snow on my boots, etc. Nonsense! I just traded a 12 year old Toyota Camry that did not have this problem. The dealer is going to check the car for leaks, but there are no leaks. It has rained enough for me to see that. Any solution to this?

Are you setting you vents for out door air or recycling? Also welcome to the forum.

 

Hello-I always have the air vent set on recycle because of severe allergies. I have been reading on the Internet and this problem with condensation appears to be a problem with the Fit since at least 2007. It is clear that since the weather has become wet and snowy (the summer was very dry--hardly any rain here), that this is a problem. All this condensation will result in a problem with mold at which time I won't be able to drive the car.

This happened to me when I went away for 8 days and it had gotten cold while I was away. I think what happened was that it got cold and then it got warm -causing condensation in the inside - and then it got cold again freezing the condensation. I thought it was a leak also because it appeared as though the frozen water was coming from the top of the windshield down. Had your car been sitting for a couple days when the temp changed dramatically? It hasn't happened to me since and I attribute that to the fact that I am driving it every day so it's not getting a chance to condense and freeze. I also thought that it could be happening as a side effect to the window being at the angle it sits at.

 

It is driven daily. It sat most of yesterday due to a snow storm. Weather in Baltimore, Maryland is quite variable. Last week it was in the 60's, this week from the 30's to 18 last night. Still, this has never happened to me in any other car. Thanks for the input.

Need to open the vent to fresh. Filter in the Fit is hepa. Run with heat on high/AC on and dry out the inside.

OK. So turn heat all the way up and turn on AC as well along with opening the air vent. Do I keep the air vent open all the time?

Steering feel is numbness around the centre. Any suggestions to fix?

Vent switch on "Fresh" to dehumidify interior, defog or defrost.

 

Do you have a GE or GD?

Steering feel being numb around center could be a number of things. I would start with tires and work from there. You could make alignment changes but I think it's a band-aid because generally the car is pretty darty at the slightest steering input, there may be other issues.

 

You didn't mention your use of the defroster and the recirculate switch setting. A few of my friends had similar problems, but in each case they always had their recirculate switch on "inside air" instead of "outside air" when using defrost. I don't know if this applies to you but I suggest you check it to make sure. Otherwise, these cars do have fogging problems that I never encountered in other cars I've owned, but the defrost switch always solves the problem.

 

I found out also that the fogging up of the windows was do to not having the circulator on bringing in fresh air instead of recirculating and that was definitely my problem. The only other problem I have is when the cooling fans come on the lights dim sometimes because I hear them come on and can see the headlights dim a little for a second or so. It could me going crazy too!
