while there's no actual dead pedal, the spot where it should be in pretty comfortable to rest your foot, I did it all the time.

I have done the same as you did for the last 55 months... Using the fender well as a place to put my foot is something I have done for just over 45 years and it feels perfectly normal to me... Our Forester has a dead pedal and it is okay but certainly not a necessity.... If a person feels like it is an issue they have to deal with, there is always the after market... It is rally no biggie to install one.

I know this is really nitpicky, but oh well. When you seek on the radio, you have to hold down the left/right seek button for 2 seconds, rather than an instantaneous press. This gets annoying when you are trying to quickly seek radio stations. If you do instantaneous press, it manually goes up/down by 0.1 frequency. This "feature" is not necessary, because if you wanted to do manually tune the radio station, you can just press the center button and turn the dial.

Many people complained about the blind spot from the A pillar. Personally, I did not find any issues with the A pillar. But the B pillar is an issue for me (probably depends on your seat position) when I'm checking my left rear blind spot. I think it's a combination of the extra wide B pillar and the large head restraints, and my seat position, but I have a very tiny window to check my left rear blind spot.

Instrument gauges are lit up during the daytime/when headlights are not on. I don't know why you need light during daytime. In fact, at night it confuses me into thinking that my headlights are on (because the instrument gauge lights are on).

If you will adjust your side view mirrors all the way OUTWARD, you will not have a blind spot to worry about. You don't need to see the side of your own car, you need to see OTHER cars coming up next to you. If the mirror is turned outward, by the time the car next to you is out of your mirror, you can see him in your peripheral vision. This is how driver's ed trained my older son and it's a brilliant technique. It's weird at first b/c we are all so totally in the habit of being able to stare at the side of our cars and ourselves, but this is the correct position to eliminate blind spots and thus, use the mirror to actually prevent accidents instead of gazing at our own car.

And now that I have performed that public service for the forum...(fix your side mirrors everyone!)

Here's my tiny complaint. I love the styling of the Fit, but for us females, if we need to dig around in our purses, there's nowhere to plonk it while we do that!!! The hood of the car slants downward so there's really no flat surface at all, the roof is way too high and of course there is no trunk either.

You men will never have this problem. I had never have thought about it until my purse ate my keys one day and I realized I couldn't just plonk it down on the hood of the car to reach into the purse.

What you say is so very true. I like to be able to see the sides of my car when backing into a tight space.. The ability to adjust them with a button from the drivers seat comes in handy in those situations

well actually, the reason why you can adjust your mirrors outward is that the mirror inside and the ones outside duplicate a good portion of what's behind you...

so if you sit in your car, have someone place two cones behind the car so you can see them at the edge of the mirrors... then just adjust the exterior mirrors so that the cones start to disappear! voila! no more duplicate/ no more blind spot

Aww Juliane_ You have in-deed provided a good 'public service' to all those reading this forum, as you so often have.
But then you go and ruin the whole thing with this hand-bag plonking nonsense.

At first I thought you were referring to the inside of the car, but the outside!!!
This has become, over the years, one of my pet peeves.
I've had the paint job on two cars I've owned damaged by the ladies 'plonking down' their handbags on the hood of the car.

Us men never have that problem because, somehow, we just know better than to plonk things on the paint job...

I always thought it was the reason they put shoulder straps on the luggage.

Kudos to Honda for designing a plonk-proof car_!!!

Well, if that's the worst you think of it you, hopefully, still like it a whole lot_

I use it just about every time I back into my short drive. By angling the left mirror down I can line up with the walkway curb that's totally invisible when reversing in.

It's fine to adjust the mirrors for parking, but putting them all the way out again once you are back on the road means that you are less likely to change lanes on top of another car that's cruising along in your blind spot...I leave mine out because I can always crank my neck around while parking, and the consequences might be a scratch v. a wreck and possible injuries.

I also seem to attract the drivers who just stay right off your bumper...even on the highway. This way, I can see them and don't jump lanes causing swerving, honking and middle-finger deployment!

-Carpet is cheap
-I'm short so there's blind spots
-needs a sunroof
-Def needs a 6th gear
-Can't get passenger side all weather mats to stay down
-Another light in the trunk would be nice

BUT.... all in all. Best car I've ever owned.

I <3 my GO-KART.

Welcome to the freakworld - good observations. You get a star!

That passenger mat has a mind of its own... bad design cause there's no anchors. The mats in my daughter's Yaris have a velcro-like backing and keep them solidly in place. Honda simply missed it on that one and the solution is soooo simple.

Sorry if I am repeating, but does it seem like people seem overly eager to race you because you have a FIT? Never happened to me with the Taurus and Altima, obviously.

I'm at a stop light last night in Philadelphia, and some guy in a STi pulls up next to me and starts revving. Vrooom, whoooosh, vroooom, whooosh. The light changes green and he floors it. LOL wat?

My only true big annoyances is that the interior is a dust magnet and that it is very dark on the inside at night. I plan on trying out the DIY cupholder and tailgate LEDs to rectify that in a few weeks or so when I have time.

Other than that, loved every minute I've been in my FIT

1 - No Dead Pedal (will probably get it from Zeta)

2 - horsepower (definitely needs more but it is what it is)

3- Needs a 6th gear

4 - All of the jackasses that either have something that compels them to stop within almost 2 inches from my rear bumper or riding the rear bumper on the freeway even when going the speed limit or with flow of freeway traffic.

I know the last one is something everyone experiences but I couldnt shake the feeling it was because of me driving my fit.

I have had a Bully Dog equipped Dodge Ram diesel crew cab pulling an enclosed 30" race car trailer nailed to my ass at 95 MPH and the driver was talking on the phone at the time.. It is when a jerk in a big truck or jerkette in a SUV pulls up inches behind me at a signal light or gives me an intimidating glare as the make a left turn in front of me that I really don't understand... Thanks to Kraft Werks and Rotrex I can make distance between myself and tail gaters very quickly now.

Just figured I'd add: lack of rearward travel in the driver's seat turned out to be the straw that broke the camel's back. I was reluctant to swap to a different vehicle as I bought the Fit new and was upside down in it... however, the fact stands that I have to pay for the Fit's negative equity either way, whether I'm driving it or have room for my legs (and with the lower interest rate on the tC, even with more remaining payments, I'll pay a total of about $10 more in interest on the negative equity)

I fought the good fight with trying to make the Fit comfortable, but to no avail. It's simply not the car for someone with long legs who likes them stretched out straight.

I'm starting to have problems with my left knee from working the clutch and having to push and release it with knee being in a less than optimal angle... It is much worse in our 95 GMC C-15 standard cab pickup... I might have to get in line behind behind all of the other Marine vets at the VA waiting for new knees... Those little Scions are nice, hope it works well for you.

I'm curious how the fuel economy will turn out - with the 5AT, mostly city driving, including a vicious 500 foot climb at residential speeds (read as: torque converter unlocked, 2nd gear all the way), the Fit was giving me 27ish after breaking in, and 25-26 when new. So far, since I refilled the tC and reset the MPG meter, it's showing 26.6. I'll see how that holds up when I do a manual calculation (at the same station/pump for accuracy).

BTW - anyone complaining about blind spots or turning circle - let's trade wheels for a while. The Fit ha almost no blind spots, great sight lines, and can turn around in a phone booth.

Funny thing - there are things that the Fit gets a pass on but the tC gets toasted on in reviews (hard plastics, road noise) that seem no different to me... The tC is has less engine noise, similar road noise, and the interior fit and finish seems about on par (except with real carpet) Perhaps it's because it is a bit more expensive in base form, but it's still a sub-20K car. I don't get the obsession with interior surfaces - how often do you caress your dashboard?
