What you DONT like about your Fit
I'm new to the forum and saw your post under static shock. I know it's an old post (2007) but I had this problem only After I installed my HID's similar to yours. When I originally put them in I did not properly ground them, I mounted the ground to the radiator bolts because it was the easiest. Then I started getting shocked. I moved the driver side ground to the battery (- negative side) and the passenger side ground to the Motor mount ground. Once this was done I have yet to be shocked.
Agreed. It also bugs me that there is such a limited availability of aftermarket support for the GE compared to the GD series. The manufacturers just seemed to abruptly stop supporting this vehicle, with a few exceptions.
My gripes about my Fit
Mine's an '09 fit base with 16k on it. I've had it for about 3 weeks now. For the most part I really love it, but there are a few annoyances. One is the glare
from the extremely long dash area in front of the driver when you are driving toward the sun, very fatiguing on your eyes
, should have been designed with less shiny plastic/different angle so as not to reflect into the windshield.
Of less importance, getting your right foot adjusted comfy on the throttle is hard to do for cruising, and seems there should be a little more "spring tension" feel to mashing the throttle, too light. Hard to maintain steady speed at cruise, makes me wish for cruise control if I had the Sport.
Just got done making the modification by putting in plastic debris screen inside the front bumper grille. I was lucky - after removing the top cover, I found already a BIG chunk of broken chromed plastic (somebody's broken headlight reflector or something) about 4" round or so had flown thru the grille and was lying inside
. Scary, you can reach your hand inside with no screen there!
Fortunately the condenser fins didn't get beat up or crushed. So, if you want to keep your baby safe, do this soon! Pretty easy, but tough to reach down low inside and thread zip-ties thru, I have short arms and it's tight reaching past the nose-grille, scraped my arms up
. But finally looks great and no more danger of crap getting inside!
Finally, I got the keyless remote (hate using the key to open up all the time
), tired of having to manually open, double click to open rear doors, then re-lock before closing them each time. A trip to the dealer to get it programmed $$$, but will be SO much nicer when it's done
!

this does wonders to the feeling, perhaps i would choose a slightly stiffer spring than whan Polaski suggests...
The spring fix is wonderful.. About the glare from the dash, it can be dealt with by getting a velour dash cover. I got one from J.C. Whitney for around $30.00 and it solves the problem.
UltraGauge will soon have that feature

I'm definitely getting one and giving my scan gauge to my son for his Ridgeline.
Easy simple cheap mod:https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...gas-pedal.html

I have to add a developed dislike about my Fit.
Not a deal breaker type of problem, but I have the reported and notorious "Squeak" when it shifts into park and the doors unlock.
It's intermittent, but I think getting worse. At this point? I'm stuck where I don't think it happens consistently enough to push for warranty repair...but I'm afraid it is happening more often...

Display is light sensitive and controllable. No problem at all.
