What you DONT like about your Fit
-gas mileage
-the shifting point the computer uses to go from gear to gear (auto)
-no arm rest
-wish driver seat sat lower or could be moved back farther for more leg room
-Mirror in the passenger visor(driver doesn't need one)
-Engine is to weak, need more power
-Hate the drum brakes in the rear
-Better quality parts, tired of braking plastic pieces.
-Needs a front dome light!!!!
-Floor mats and privacy rear cover should be standard.

There is a small armrest on the Sport, don't know about the Base. There is also an accessory armrest.
If you lower the seat the leg room will effectively shorten up.
I want my female passenger leaning over to use my mirror.

Most rave about the gas mileage.

Dont know if there is a different in the newer Fits, but my(07) sport has no little armrest(wish it had atleast that) No front dome light in mine(in the front is what i mean to say) the middle one doesn't really light up in the front part of the cabin very well, and i guess it would be better for my seat to be lower since i'm taller, just like in my integra, lower seat i fit better amd have more leg room.

i have a huugge list, but its a cheap car and it is what i expected, can't fix dislikes with cheap nor can you expect to get everything you want with cheap. Therefore no point in displaying my list but for the price it does what i need it to, haul me and my stuff from point A to point B.
Lets put some perspective on all these complaints, and some of mine too...
Many years ago I drove a 1972 Ford Pinto Hatchback...
-no air conditioning
-no electric windows
-no door locks
-no keyless entry
-no automatic locking doors
-no cruise control
-no paddle shifters
-no theft system
-no airbags
-no ABS
-no TPMS
-no VSA
-no 160-watt audio system
-no air filtration
-no tilt/telescopic wheel
-no maintenance minder
-no alloy wheels
-no intermittent wipers
-no fog lights
-no halogen headlights
-no "magic" real seat
-no vanity mirrors
-etc, etc...
My 2011 Fit has more features than my father's 1967 Chrysler New Yorker did... which was considered one of the luxo-boats back then.
Just some perspective.

I marvel at the unnecessary things that people think they should get as standard equipment on a very good quality low priced car... If I wanted all of the things that are expected on the Fit by what I have seen in this thread, I know that I would have to buy a much more expensive car and pay even more at the gas pump, tax office, insurance agency, and service provider for maintenance and repairs...

Everyone wants Mercedes luxury in an economy price car. With Honda you sacrifice luxury for reliability on entry level cars. I'll take reliability over luxury any time.
Those were the days...
Yup, long ago and far far away... 1971 Mach I Fastback ("Diamonds Are Forever" type), 351 Cleveland, 4bl with air filter cover sticker saying "Premium gas only" and chrome side-pipes. Ah, I had to upgrade my Delco radio to an Audiovox that pumped out a whooping 30 or 60W (don't remember) so I can hear my "cassettes" playing on top of the side-pipe roar with windows down. Stomp on the gas and watch the fuel gauge peg almost as fast as the speedo except in the opposite direction...
Yeeaaahhhhh!!! Giddy up pony!!!
Me too
Double Amen to that!!!

can't imagine how anything made in 2011 would have more features than anything made 44 years ago
Guess that explains why my Cell phone has more features than my dad's 1969 color tv, his rotary telephone, his 1982 Rolex and his Comadore 64 all combined.
The perspective is of comparing what was then a state of the art, very expensive luxury car with what is thought of as a entry level shitbox and how people expect more features on it than the legendary luxury car that few people of the era could even afford.
I bet if you went to the Four Seasons in the 1960's, they wouldn't have even offered DVD players, movies on demand or wifi. I'd still say that the overall product would be a damn bit nicer than a Quality Inn in 2011.

Hmm... there's a point here somewhere.
Oh yeah... here's where it gets interersting.
MSRP for an Acura Legend L sedan in 1989: $25,900. In 2010 dollars, that's 44952.38. Makes you wonder how Acura ever got off the ground.
Also for fun: a 1990 Accord EX sedan: $16,595. $27326.85 in 2010 dollars. Because the Accord has grown so much, the 2012 Civic compares rather closely. The Accord had a 130 hp engine (to the Civic's 140), but was rated at either 19/26 or 21/27 depending on transmission (using the revised ratings... under the old system it was 22/28 or 24/30). The Accord also still had the narrow 67" wide body.
True, the fit and finish, and overall quality of the interior was better in Honda's in those days, and when compared to its contemporaries, it really shined. But still, for a car in the compact class, with similar power, similar or better appointments, it'll only cost you around $20K. It's amazing how far we've come even since then.
After 3.5 years, I still find myself reaching for a 6th gear...

I'm happy that the stock Dunlops are nearly dead now, and I can put some REAL tires on her soon. Couple that with some good shocks, and she'll be a whole new car again.
What a great little car.

1. Seats aren't comfortable, but my back is getting used to it.
2. I have a manual transmission. Sometimes my hand hits the fan control knob when i take my hand off the shifter.
3. The car starter seems a little weak. It should start after the first crank, but it normally takes 2 or 3 cranks before it starts.
4. No coolant temperature gauge.
5. The fuel gauge section looks plain.

1) both my fits came with the worst tires. practically dangerous. Like driving on ice.
2) crazy replacement key cost
3) 1st break maint cost a $100 and should not be a charge if it is due to prematurely worn parts.
4) floor mats role up due to cheapness.
5) dealer doesn't offer express check out for cash paying customers buying a new car.
6) back windshield wiper is non standard size.
7) my 2007 fit has an a/c coolant leak and car only has 14000 miles.
8) both my fits have rattling front speakers.
9) tiny fit battery is hard to find and very expensive and only last two years (in michigan).
