There you go, the Fit's outside temperature indicator.

Don't break your brakes or neck... driving like that.
Hope you are not in California.

Or be aware of the temp/conditions when you are getting in the car. If the car is wet it is raining. If it is white you either have a Taffy White or it is snowing and you may need to clean the windows before driving. Geez

That road is 1/3rd of my commute. I love it.
Well x 25,I understand the urge to drive like that more than many out there,,but suggest you upgrade your brakes ,suspension and tires before things get out of hand one day, hope not.Used to drive my Accord like it was an F1 race,,but spent quite a bit on suspension, brakes and tires,,even so I had a few close calls. When the right time comes will upgrade my 2011 FIT and hope for the best.Good luck, JJ

I have slowed down since buying the fit. Having a loan and a car worth more than 2 grand has taken it's toll on my driving style.

Once I get some better tires on it though (the ones on there now are nasty, base model so really squirly) I will probably look for some places to do some auto cross.

Whoops forgot about this thread.. My father is a great welder .. I'm sure he could make one but I've always liked the aesthetics of the beaks bar.. Color and design and whatnot

I wish the Fit came with 7 seats not... 5 seats.

lack of power is probably the only thing I don't like, but I get over that pretty quickly. I'm not going to spend the money to engine swap or upgrade the horsepower in any significant way, and if I had the money to do so, I'd probably just buy a Civic Si or TypeR.

Lack of power is definitely noticeable but Ive kind of learned to live with it..
In the keys US1 is the only road from Miami to key west and most of it is 2 lanes and I've learned the car well enough to know exactly how far I need to overtake lol which surprisingly isn't nearly as far as I thought it would be..

For such a tall car the Fit is very slippery... I learned how to pass on 2 lane highways by hanging back from the slow moving car or cars in front of me, drop down into the appropriate lower gear and nail the accelerator to the floor not pulling out until I have built up more than enough speed to make the pass.. Driving loaded down VW diesel powered pickups with 60 BHP I had to keep the speed up all of the time because once the momentum was lost it was going to take awhile to get it back... I was very surprised that my car was able to attain speed as quickly as it does from 70 MPH up.

Coyote It's amazing how underpowered cars can take the advantage. With the Fit's gearing and high revving, dropping one from high, along with reading the conditions right can really make it happen. I've had that window closed on me every now and again, however.

New owner. I didn't notice this as much on test drive as ..well.. I was behaving. But the pillar does create a bit of a blind spot when cornering. I find myself trying to look out the tiny window. Of course, I could just stop thinking I'm still driving a perforance sports car too

The pillars are fine. You're still in the "getting used to the car" stage.

Have owned my 09 for just over 2 years now. Live in upstate NY. There are many things I didn't like when I bought it: Having to buy Nav for VSA, no sunroof, no bluetooth, no XM/Sirius, odd tire size, feeble horn, non-variable wipers, etc. But I knew that going in so I've excluded those.

1. Fuel mileage given it's size and power.
2. Automatic hunts CONSTANTLY.
3. Carpet not wearing well.
4. Seat fabric not wearing well.
5. Seat fabric collects everything.
6. Road noise
7. Seats become uncomfortable on long trips.
8. Rattles from dash.
9. The "half-way down drivers window rattle"
10. Creaks and groans from hatch area.
11. Interior pieces around C-pillar windows unnecessarily thick. Making them useless to see out of.
12. NAV is more annoying than helpful.
13. Going in for TSB's.
14. Going in for recalls.
15. I'll mention again the amount of hunting the transmission does. The slightest..i mean SLIGHTEST..incline will cause the trans to drop down. This has become extremely tiresome day after day over the past two years.

You guys talking about lack of power...

Why did you buy a Fit if you wanted power? And it's not that the Fit doesn't have a lot of power, it's that there are several things holding it back from having some "get up and go." Like the NGK Extended-reach plugs. If you want more throttle response/power/whatever, Denso IK20's or IK22's even, a good air intake, full exhaust. Then ditch the heavy factory wheels for light weight ones, like Enkei RPF150's or TRMotorsport C1's (the C1's I bought made a noticeable difference.) It's not that the Fit lacks power...D16Z6's had even less power years ago, but they still were nice in the Civics that had them. But then again, that goes back to the point of, if you wanted lots of power, why did you buy a Fit in the first place?

The AT did a lot of hunting on really hilly areas for me, so usually just to relieve that problem I just put it in manual mode and tell the car to get over it.

Very Interesting, kind of makes sense,I'll check it out, thanks. JJ

I don't love the headrest. It's not horrid but if I saw an aftermarket one I'd buy it. (could be I'm coming from a 1967 vw bug with no head rest, just a thought)
