Yea the armrest option is looking good to me. I'll have to check into the details more closely.

The space saver tire is face down when stowed. That means I can't flip up the cover and check/add air to the spare. The tire has to be unbolted and hauled out with all accompanying junk to check/fill the tire. The tire can't be stowed face out because it sticks up too high.

I foolishly bought an automatic. My other vice is lack of sound deadening. I may trade in for a 2012 White Sport manual in a few months.

I have a 2009 Fit Sport (without Nav), and the one thing that irks me is how user-unfriendly the base ipod internal interface is on the radio. There are a couple common-sense ways Honda could have made it much less frustrating for us to control our ipod on its interface, for example:

1) You must toggle through each artist starting at A, without the ability to toggle by letter (with a library of about 6,500 songs and about 600 artists, this takes me 3-4 minutes to go to the end, not to mention a more unsafe distraction)
2) Once you start playing a song, you must start over at A to play another artist, as opposed to simply hitting the up button to return to the previous song, then album, then artist, saving you tons of time

There are others but I'm at work and cannot remember them all, and keep in mind this was in effect for 2009 AND for the non-navigation head unit. Has this been remedied for more current models? I've tried every button combination to try to figure out how it might work, as well as look through the manual, to no avail.

If I'm to share the road with you, I'd rather you concentrate on driving, just the responsible thing to do. I don't think there are any safe distractions when driving. Just me...

The leather steering wheel looks great, but the seams are exactly where I place my hand(s), so I get the feeling of the seam and the two different leather textures on my hand. I didn't notice this right away, but now it is really bugging me.

Hey now. In my defense, I've got this down so well that I know pretty much exactly when I'll finally toggle to the correct artist without shifting my eyes from the road. It's just that I shouldn't have had to get this good!

Hey JJ! Happy Holidays!

Good try... I think all cars are safe... until driven... It is what it is. Insurance would go out of business if you take away that variable. Even Santa has airbags, anti-locks and ESC.

Door locks and unlocks at will...defrost won't work, brakes are not good (afraid to let anyone else drive the thing, I'm a very defensive driver), and should the pricey cylinder coils need to be replaced at 95K miles? Just replaced the #4 coil, and yes, all new plugs. Looks Like I'll have to replace a coil at payday for the next 2 months. I really expected to love this car and to keep it until 350K Miles or so. I'm so very sad about this car.
Also: there is no interior lock for the gas cap, which means I need to use an external locking gas cap. Minor? Baby, not when you have arthritis, and it is freezing cold out...Unfortunately did not notice this until I'd bought the Fit.

fitsport07_flustrated, welcome to the forum. I have seen posted here that most do not bother with a locking gas cap, as the Fit has a very long neck to the gas tank because of the tank's location.

I read your other post and suggest that since you are having a number of problems, you try starting your own thread about them. Hopefully you will get some replies. Sorry about the issues you are experiencing.

I like Subie's positive attitude and love the photo of his Chow Chow.... I have ridden hundreds of thousand miles on motorcycles and scooters and never been hospitalized or to an emergency room but once after doing an endo on a dirt bike... I consider myself to be a very defensive driver and like the idea of a car that is built more with avoiding accidents than having people driving around and doing stupid things because they feel that they will not be hurt in an accident...I think that sword blades popping out of the center of the steering wheel hub and impaling the driver if involved in hitting another car would be a great deterrent that would prevent a great deal of if not all accidents... Countries arming themselves with enough nuclear weapons that using one on another country armed similarly would result in death to most of the populations of the two countries involved and that has deterred nuclear warfare for over 60 years... Imagine how much lighter, better handling would improve the ability to avoid accidents. Cars would be more economical without all of the built in safety nonsense, not to mention lower purchase prices and bad drivers being sent directly to funeral homes instead of to hospitals would lower insurance premiums.

I'm really starting to despise my driver side A-pillar... it tends to hide rather large Ford Expeditions behind it as I turn off the road. Makes for a nice "oh shit" moment.

When you really appreciate the positive things you can live with or correct what it is that bothers you... Horsepower and torque is always something that is appreciated and the Fit is a lot more fun when it has it.+

There, that is the point I was trying to get to previously, but could not pinpoint it,the Fit has room for improvement,,and horsepower and good torque curve is one of them, add to that the best tires you can afford, good brake pads, steel braided lines, better shocks,,,and now we are getting somewhere with this great little car. When I first read that the Fit was going to be sold here, the guy that had tested it and written the article mentioned the lack of power but said the aftermarket would address the problem.. It took awhile for Jackson Racing to perfect their supercharger but I was stashing money away so I could get one for over 2 years so I could get one.... Next to that I found light weight wheels and tires to be the next best thing to increase performance.

So,did you get the supercharger ? and if you did,you figure 40 to 60 extra horses? JJ

According to JDMChris his dynoed at 212 horsepower... What I have is real close to what he has as far as the KWSC high boost kit and I think exhaust system as well... It will do 0 to 60 in under 7 seconds when the weather isn't too hot or too cold...
