And it's not too inconvenient to climb in and out of the doors, but a lot of times the students at my school squeeze their SUVs into the compact parking spots and the only way to get in and out would be through the hatch or through a window. So I was wondering if I needed to "fit" my fit into a tight spot at school, if I could just crawl out the hatch if need be. I have a 2012 Sport MT, and it would be really cool if I could get that to work out, but I don't even know where to start with rigging something, if it's at all possible. Any help would be appreciated.
Well first pull the interior panel off. Start at a corner and pry. Clips should release. Then look close and see if somehow could fasten a piece of coat hanger wire to latch that would trip it when pulling upward. Then close hatch and try it from inside. First though unlock using your key fob. If works then time to make a hole somewhere discrete to pull wire through panel when you replace it. I have looked at my manual and it is hard to see from diagrams if it is feasible.

I must be missing something. Don't you have a remote door like with your Sport Fit? Can't you just unlock the door with the remote?

Yes you are. He can unlock but still need to release the catch to open.

Thanks, you're right. I just kept thinking he was trying to unlock the door.

I just picked 2012 manual sport. Last night. He dash comes right up to right knee (left hand drive) unless I have the seat slid all the way back. In a head on collision, I'll probably shatter my knee if not my femur. the seats are a pathetically passed off as "bucket seats." I prefer the seats I have in my eg hatch that I pulled from a 91 prelude si. I'm considering sourcing some crz seats for my Fit (not sure if they'll fit or not). As far as performance, I can't really comment as I'm still breaking her in. 112 miles on the od so far!

I was fine with the seats. I didn't like how hard they were to keep clean.

You could always do Clazzio seat covers. They make the seats much more comfy and give the interior a great new look. Welcome to FF!

Wow I really need to proofread before I post...

Also, as I'm accustomed to a
short throw shifter, the oem shifter feels sloppy and loose.

thanks for the welcome! The seats are comfortable enough I guess. What I specifically meant was that they don't really hug you much. There are a couple of tight on and off ramps that I use every day to and from work (80 miles a day) and I just don't think the seats will keep me planted in place very well during more "spirited" driving. I realize that the Fit isnt a sports car, but they did such a great job engineering the car to go around corners, and then skimped on (in my opinion) proper seats. I miss the days when Honda would outsource their seats from Recaro. Those were the days...

I'm not sure if I'm the only one with this issue, but's driving me nuts!

When you have any of the 4 windows cracked, or rolled down part way, they sometimes rattle. VERY annoying! No rattles with the window completely down, or completely up. Anywhere in between... rattles. This sucks, because I like cracking the window a bit to have some fresh air in the car, other than having the fan on all the time.

Hmm...not having that problem and I almost drive with either driver side and/or passenger front windows cracked to about 6 in. from top. No rattles at all.

I agree that would be annoying if I had that rattle. Hopefully others here can shed light on why yours would be doing that and how to fix it.

Move North then it is only a problem in the summer.

I find they only rattle is certain positions. Try raising a bit or lowering.

Stop smoking!!! I quit about 6 years ago and bought a Fit instead.

Who says I smoke? Never have, never will.

I just like fresh air. I also rarely use my a/c, as I'd much prefer having all my windows down instead.

Move North? I don't want to live in the Yukon! I'm North enough already lol

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue... anyone tried complaining to the dealer about this? I think I will when I take my Fit in for it's first service.

I got the Fit in December, and it hasn't been warm enough here yet to drive with the windows down much. But have driven with them partway down a few times and noticed nothing.

So far, there is nothing I don't like about my Fit. Thanks to my fellow FF'ers I knew just what to expect, and that is what I got!

I've owned my GD and GE for over 3 years each and have never had the noise problem coming from the window, so far.
