I'm sure it's been mentioned but man the stock seat upholstery is a total dirt/fuzz magnet.

Car Guys just take hiatus when the kids are young, they come back later in one form or another, it's never game over until you die.

I don't understand how this dude is paying so much for insurance on a Fit...my Fit is cheaper to insure than my EF and DC were..and they were 2-3k dollar cars.

I dont understand either. Here in Kalifornia, its the Scion Tc that is a basically cheap car that costs a fortune to insure. My Fit is similar to the Camry I had before. Certain vehicles do get dinged. A small truck is more expensive to insure than full size, go figure.

Teenage/tweenage girls can be blamed for that i'm sure, in combination with racerboy young guys trying to prove the bad-assery of their Tc to the rest of the automotive kingdom.

I seen it.

My Fit is not expensive to insure

You're 100% correct!

I'm just saving up for a house down the road, and then once both cars are paid off, then it's something FAST time!!

Just a tip for you, those cheap dollar sticky rollers that you use to get fuzz off of clothes work well and you can keep one in the glove box. I swear those seats have a cosmic force field on them that attracts every piece of lint in a 10 square mile area.

Dave- Thanks, I tried that long time ago but it can't get onto the nooks and quickly needs fresh adhesive so I use painters tape now.

I'm in the same place right now and also waiting to get these kids out of daycare, so I feel ya man.

Fit is a good cheap thrill that gets the job done while looking somewhat responsible and convenient so I can get my kicks in on the way to work. I understand.

Never game over as long as I can depress the clutch with my bum left foot, shift with my arthritic right hand, heel-n-toe with my soft-casted right foot with varicose veins and see with my coke-bottle glasses... Ooops forgot the brakes...

Game over when I need a ramp to get in the car... unless they make lightweight ramps...

my '12 GE sport MT is absolutely great for what it is. i didn't 'settle' on this car, i chose it.

i dont think any guy should have to sell his sports car or coupe or bike or watever his hobby is just to buy a house or raise a family. that's just poor planning, imho...

i will say that if anything tragic happened, like say if your kid was born with an illness or tragic loss of your significant other, etc. this statement does not apply.

im just saying in general... planning is key.

You could say that, but I don't like having more than 1 car. I'd rather sell other toys and focus on single toy.
Having said that, I was an IDIOT selling my AP1. I didn't need a car for almost 2 years, so I just sold it thinking the extra $$ in the savings...WRONG!

And plus, I'm sure your wallet is heavier than my wallet

just out of curiosity (since it was mentioned), what are you paying for your fit's insurance?

i've got an '08 sport AT, and with comp/collision ($0 glass deductible) and typical liability limits of 100/300, i'm at just over a grand per year. i have a clean driving record, btw.

Ken has like a 5x multiplier multi-car discount though so you have to consider that

I have Progressive as well bukowski and I pay about $430 for 6 mo w/ 300/100/250 deductible + optional stuff. I've found cheaper insurance and was going to switch to Wawanesa but decided not to if only because they're very old school and slightly inconvenient. Progressive has always worked well with me when I needed them, so there you go.
