i dislike the power but, i knew this when i bought the car
i know the fit wasn't built for power, but it is a good platform to build from.
Chassis is nice and stiff
Engine is like the D series but better, and the d series has been proven to make gobs of power
So yes i did buy the fit to purposely make it fast, its the perfect sleeper.
This is all personal preference...
but for me i would rather have a 200hp fit rather than a rsx-s or a civic si...
HKS: please make a turbo kit for my 2011 FIT

So I've had my 2012 Sport AT for just under two weeks. Here's my nit-picking.

The ride can get choppy on some uneven roads. There's a stretch of highway on eastbound Hwy 580 after Emeryville here in the San Francisco Bay Area that really exemplifies how bad it can be. I notice this in our Acura TL as well but the Acura is able to absorb and smooth out the ride.

I'm glad however that they reduced the road noise in the 2012s. So I still get a bumpy but quieter ride.

The armrest is okay but I find it too high. After much thought, I probably won't bother with armrest console accessory.

I'm looking forward to wearing-out the stock Dunlop tires and replacing them with Michelins.

I wish they put in a second 12v outlet. I'll probably mod the panel with OEM parts.

I wish the glass was tinted darker. I'll be having an aftermarket tint job done.

Yep, same here, headrest keeps hitting me ,I might just hit it back, there has to be a better one or just replace the driver's seat. JJ

Headrest

The headrest issue seems an odd thing. I don,t mean to be opinionated just interested. I too have an old beetle, and a bus in my past. Perhaps it's just getting used to your new car. I think changing the seat back angle, the head rest height and distance for and back may do the trick. When i first got my Fit, I sat very upright, but after time have changed things. I am 5'9", 200 lbs and seem to be a good fit (yah I know).
Good luck.

I think you can be opinionated here. Just keep in mind that everyone else has one too. Head rests as of late have not been real head rests (my opinion) but rather "whiplash" protectors.

I can't seem to find the right angle for them to rest my head. I just live with it. They're good when the car's not in motion and you're fully reclined or better yet, "just a passenger".

Headrests...more

Thanks Subie. Good point. When you look at it your way, they are not headrests at all. When I try to catch a nap, no adjustment will work. When driving no problem. They are in fact whiplash protectors.

Head hitters

Well, looks like I'm going to have to get used to these headrests,Subie you are right,,I tried removing it but it felt odd, like a 60's car.Better live with it than a whiplash. JJthis little guy must be driving a "Jazz" with the shift lever on the left,,I know ,never mind. JJ

Bought a 2012MT Sport 5 days ago. The tires seem to hunt and I pulled the fuse on the DRL's. Headrest is bothersome at times. Can't quite figure out how to disable the door lock function. Like's; Throttle pedal placement's a great improvement over the 08' my wife drives, increased power very noticable.

Bought a 2011 Sport MT a month ago ,,what exactly do you mean by "the tires seem to hunt"? what I did notice was poor brakes, looking for brake pads compatibility with earlier models ie 2008,HAWK only lists for 2008 on HPS or HPS plus Pads. JJ

Car doesn't to want to go straight very well. My wifes fit doesn't exhibit this problem. I'm blaming it on the tires. Might get better as I pile on the miles. May also experiment with pressure, or stay off the freeway.

No pun intended, just a trivial comment.Looked it up and apparently they call it Jazz in India and other countries in Asia, but I am sure you know that. This is my fifth Honda, since 1988.Understand FIT came out in 2007 but I was driving an Accord then ,so did not pay attention to FIT till a month ago, really like that car, it has personality, even with the head hitting headrest and soon to be upgraded brakes. JJ Guess you drive in the left lane also ???

Horrid carpet quality, seats really do seem to be magnets for har and hard to get really clean and the mileage is not particularly good (given the car's small size). I get 33-35mpg highway and compared to my 1980 Civic (which got about 45mpg highway) it's a bit disappointing. Yes, the Fit is 200lbs heavier and has a lot more emissions stuff but it's also more powerful (106hp vs 70hp) and the engine is 27 years newer. I should think in nearly 3 decades of refining an engine Honda could have done a bit better with the mileage.

What yr fit -at/mt? With the Fit a lot is in the stop and go's. For what the Fit is I think it's an extremely economical car. Systems are well balanced. With economical production car performance it means a lot.

Seems like the technology has improved but the implementation has not. Thing is it all comes up together. That's what I like with my FIT. It's a well engineered car.

My 67 Beetle got pretty good mileage for the day - 26mpg, how sad today, but it was good then. It did keep my eye on that elusive 30mpg. I see 36-38 w/ my FIT.
