I don't get the obsession with interior surfaces - how often do you caress your dashboard?
Reading some of the posts on this forum I would say way too often.

hum... maybe I should clear the dust off my dash. was kinda embarrassed when I took it the dealer for the oil change... soooo dusty.

I gotta say... it's weird being me sometimes... I have the "perfectionist" attitude, but too damn lazy to actually do it.

I'm a neat freak too... except, I'm so lazy, my room looks like a bomb went off. And of course, the Fit is super dusty inside.

Once in a blue moon... those two win over my laziness.

I have tiers of lazy to neat-freak.

My living room is usually spotless. My kitchen is mostly clean. My bedroom is cluttered. My closet looks like the 9th Ward of New Orleans. The boxes in my closet look like they were salvaged from the wreckage of the Titanic.

Same goes for my car: Paint: Glossy and clean. Interior: Mostly clean. Back seat floorboard: OK, most of the time. Trunk: always some random stuff there. glovebox: Gah. Envelope that swallows registration, insurance cards, receipts from servicing: Atrocious - I once was digging through the magic envelope and found the sales contract from two cars ago.

OK: Thing I don't like about the Fit - it made me lazy. It's so insanely easy to park... even when you're in the space, you can glance out the window at the parking lines to make sure you're good. As if you wouldn't be - it's like tossing a hotdog down a hallway. (First time THAT one has ever been used in a non-lewd manner!)

In the new car, I glance over my shoulder when passing, see just peeps of windows and lots of C-pillar. Hmm... I know my Element had huge blind spots. So did my Civic. It's to be expected in a coupe (or in a W-ever-TF an Element is) but I got used to them not being there!

You know what they say about first impressions?

Even though I try to say that I don't care about what others think of me... I still fall victim to "gotta give a good first impression." I think I gave it a quick wipe down with the towel before that day. I think what I did was, checked to see how dusty it was by wiping a section, only to realize it was dusty enough to notice that I wiped that section, so I had to do a quick wipe of the whole dash.

But can you imagine... since then it's gotten WORSE!!! GAHHH.

Still jealous of those Swifts..

I got tired of the reflections and heat coming off of my dash and got a black velour cover to put on it.

its an inexpensive car but its expensive in its class.
dont like black interior, no sunroof, no steering wheel controls on the non-navi audio(i have seen the DIY), fuel door, honda center armrest is add on, poor audo system(my kia Soul has a small sub) no blue tooth its an add, no outside temp gauge, auto up/down only on driver window(could have done both front at least)

but damn its fun to drive and with all that room for improvement and the wonderful world of aftermarket

i love my fit.

I just don't like sitting up so high. The car itself is low enough for me, but the seats feel way up there.

My nitpicks:

  • Stick shift needs a 6th gear, at least for flatland interstate cruising.
  • Needs a locking gas filler door or cap.
  • I'd prefer red dash lighting instead of blue.
  • Door handle design tends to collect water and snow. I had to break out the lock de-icer twice this winter.

Even so, I love this car!

I don't like the auto AC when using defrost mode, especially because the AC light does not come on. I know that's pretty much standard with most cars nowadays, but at least the AC light should come on to let you know the AC is on.

Sometimes, I just like some fresh air to come out of the defrost vents rather than blowing directly on my face. Not because the windows are fogging up. So I'll probably be disconnecting the auto AC in the future.

I could nitpick and find fault, but I like my Fit and accept it
for what it is... a great affordable small car with low operating
expense that I enjoy driving.

Quite a change from my Acura. But really they are not the same class of car, so I probably shouldn't compare vastly different Honda products.

1) I agree with some of the previous posts, road noise is annoying, but that's easy to fix, just turn the stereo up.

2) Something I've noticed, which I SHOULD have expected...these lighter-weight cars DO NOT LIKE A WET ROAD. I was driving up I-75 where they are repaving around Atlanta, changed lanes during a heavy downpour, and I swear it sounded like a Tsunami hitting my car (apologies to our friends in Japan).

3) Miss the keyless entry (but I can always add that).

Other than that, my friends are totally jealous--especially of my gas mileage!!

I loved it until yesterday when the control panel started going bonkers. It starting flashing and blinking and now I have no clue how much gas I have, how fast I'm going or what my mileage is. AND the nearest Honda dealer is 2 hours away via I-70...how the heck do they expect me to drive over 2 mountain passes when I don't know how fast I'm going or if I'm about to run out of gas??? Most annoying of all? NOBODY seems to have any idea what I'm talking about...ugh.

Thats happened to me once during the DIY independent fog lights. Which i fixed easily buy adding another fuse. Have you changed anything in your car to cause this?
