Good point! I am wondering which is worst, Sand or sugar. I guess the oil pump connecting the fuel tank and the engine has a filter in between to stop the sand particles from reaching the engine.

I think sugar may be more deadly.... sugar will be mixed, sugar may be dissolved with the fuel, get pass the filter and reaches the pistons. When sugar is heated at high temp in your four FIT pistons, sugar will turn black and hardened like rocks and may seize the whole engine... am I correct?

That the reason I feel spending $50 to lock my gas cap is great insurance value.. my views.. others may disagree

I've been driving my Jazz for few weeks now. Two things in particular that I've found to be unconformable with:
  1. The curved side mirrors make objects appear quite a bit farer away than they actually are, so I unintentionally cut people off when changing lanes few times.
  2. The area where I live is hilly. The automatic transmission really LOVES to shift down to maximize engine brake especially when I drive downhill, so the car will sometimes stay in a very uncomfortable rev range for quite a long time.

I tried searching but couldn't find what I was looking for.

I sat in a Honda Fit (2010) at the car lot a few months ago, after lusting for them forever.

I loved it, I'm 6'4" and I had all the room in the world. The one thing I don't remember is the pedals.

I have size 15 feet, and I am in love with the 1st Gen. I heard the pedals are kinda meh, anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks in advance.

You mean they're too soft? this can easily be fixed with a spring https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...gas-pedal.html! and you can also get a zeta dead pedal!!!

I don't own one yet! I was just saying, I thought I read somewhere that they were spaced kinda strangely, not very ergonomically, but I may have misread.

Sorry for the confusion.

Well, we're about the same height, and if that's your only complaint, I can't wait!

I'll be buying one within the coming months, I look forward to participating.

I have long legs and big size 13 feet (when I can find 13s that fit.) I had a hell of a time with the pedals and have to be careful what shoes I where or I still have problems... The throttle spring fix that Polaski came up with was and is a blessing and PW Panson's electronic throttle controller set in the EC5 mode allows me to relax my right leg and has eliminated a lot of that discomfort.... My actuation of the clutch and brake pedals are sloppy as all get out if I am wearing shoes that I am comfortable walking in for any length of time and when it is warm I wear loafers I can slip out of easily and drive bare footed and on long trips wear very light driving shoes...

I'm not a fan of the door handles, i wish they were more like the Acura EL ones. I find them pretty flimsy. As well, I have the sport, but i wish the factory made it the back end or even the entire car dumped a tad bit more. The stock body kit is awesome, and why can canada come with a factory done tint like the US?

Door mirrors get very dirty in sloppy winter conditions. Kind of hard to see cars at night.

Thumbs down uncomfortable seats

Go on an extended road trip of a couple thousand miles and you will know what I mean. The 09 Fit has the most uncomfortable front seats ever.

For me in my 07 it is definitely the lack of a left foot rest deadpedal. Like Texas Coyote I have learned the loafer trick in Summer to slip out of. Cruise control can be a beautiful foot relaxer on long trips.

I might have said this before, but I'll say it again - NO heated side mirrors and NO low washer fluid level indicator.

Our friends to the North get both, but we still get their cold wintry mixes of weather.......... HoHoHo

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. You could install some mirrirs and hook up to the rear window defroster wire.

Shall I send you a jug of washer fluid?

HO Ho Ho. Merry Christmas.

Yeah, you can send the fluid... just that I would like a little heads up when it's close to needing a refill so's I can let you know.

I have been thinking to ask you about those heated mirrors though. Replacement glass should have the elements installed. Do you know if HondaCA sells the mirror parts or would I need the whole shebang. You've also answered how to get 'em working.

Best to you and your sweetie

HoHoHo ;-)

Don't get me wrong. Love my new 2011 Fit Sport, especially for its ride, handling and safety features. However, there are some minor disappointments considering the fact that my old 2001 Corolla trade-in has the below features.

1. Automatic headlamps On/Off
2. Variable intermittent wipers
3. Outside temperature indicator
4. Automatic rear defrogger switch-off after about 10 minutes.
5. Quieter ride.
6. Can't see the front hood, makes parallel parking, pulling out of a tight spot somewhat a challenge.

Hope I do not experience buyer remorse
