What you DONT like about your Fit
dislikes, etc.
I've found my '10 Fit sport headlights to be okay. Maybe I was lucky and they came properly aimed.
The fog lights are sort of a disappointment; I thought they would have more reach forward. As it is, they mostly light up the shoulders on each side. Has anyone found better units to replace the stock foggers?
The lack of a 6th gear is my biggest complaint. The first 5 are great for performance from such a small engine, but a sixth would surely help with highway economy and engine noise and wear.
I'm sort of surprised that I haven't seen any cool mods that added nice engine temp and maybe oil pressure guages. I'm old school and like to have the data available.
Finally, the mpg guage seems about 3-4 mpg optimistic, and not affected by ambient temperature. I take care to use a particular gas pump consistently, and fill the tank pretty slowly when nearing full. I quit on the first activation of the pump's auto-shutoff. I probably drive 70-80% on sometimes hilly highways, 60-65 mph when prudent. Real (manually calculated) mileage runs 34-36 mpg in winter, with snows on base steelies, and 36-38 in summer. The mpg meter seems most accurate when I'm taking a multi-hour long trip on a thruway, and it will read about 40 mpg, confirmed by manual calculation. I wonder if Honda can re-calibrate the meter to improve on accuracy. I thought the '10's were supposed not to have this problem, after the '09's indicated that attention was needed.

So far, the only thing I really don't like is the color. I have the Milano Red and it was the only 2010 Fit Sport with man tran so I took it. I had a MR Civic Si back in 1999 so I am sure the color will be fine. I was hoping for white.
yup. 6th gear is a natural

The idea of the fog lamps is to use them when its... foggy outside. The low position of the lamp means it reaches the ground more easily than the headlamp, giving you the ability to see the road in fog (heavy rain and snow).
Obviously, more side light means you can see the lane markers and the curb in those same conditions... you know, so you don't end up driving into a ditch or something.
But apparently, a lot of people don't give a flying F*** about it, and use it all the time with brighter bulbs... which only serves to blind oncoming vehicles. The output isn't controlled like headlights, they do shine "everywhere."

The only thing I wish I had on my GD Sport is a sixth gear for highway driving, a map light, and the rear window glass popped open so you could open the hatch glass like on a CR-V to carry long cargo. But, I am still happy with my Fit and thankfully the last two are easily remedied by buying the JDM maplight, or getting a roofrack....the 6th gear can only happen with a K-swap, so it may take a while for me to get to that, haha.
10k plug and pray HIDs are worse than your oem halogen bulbs. you mean "its bluelight and less visibility all the time now"
try reclining seat slightly
I'm 6' 2" and I recline the back of the seat a little. It doesn't provide more leg room, but the position is more comfortable and seems roomier.
Thin paint sux! Front lip too low for stock (removed & sold). Lack of telescoping steering wheel for taller drivers (raised seat with longer bolts & spacers/nuts on underside), pedal resistance (installed stiff spring), seats uncomfortable (headrests flipped backwards & rears removed to flip them down whenever, I think I gotten wear in the shoulders cuz they make me hunch), wind noise & drift (eibach pro kit, feels lower than it is, great diy)...
For some reason people like to race my Fit. It's a 2009 Fit Sport MT. Now I tend to push it a little now and again, especially when merging on the freeway because it almost demands it for safety purposes (to get to ~60-70 MPH before merging).
I've had a an older model AMG (among other cars - Impalas and BMW 3-series too) do the ricer fly-by left lane while I'm cruising at ~70-75 MPH or so, AND then brake and merge to the lane on my right and do it again.
I mean honestly, even if my car were a Civic Si how would you EVER match that kind of HP/torque?
So I found my solution... it's called, toss change in front of their car if they keep at it. Works for me.

No kidding, we had two truck drivers stab eachother to death out front of my office on US41-N a couple months ago because of a perceived slight and some tailgating.
I hope he is armed with more than pocket change if he is going to do crap like that.
Those truck drive give trucking a bad name, a few more miles and would have been in Wisconsin and no death penalty. Also the scales with state police were open then, there would have been no fight.
The only thing I have to complain about the car is actually a good characteristic. But I hate (not used to) how responsive the steering is. The car reacts to the slightest movement of the steering wheel causing it to swerve making you look like a drunk driver when all you were doing was reaching into your pocket for some change to pay the toll.
