I have been thinking to ask you about those heated mirrors though. Replacement glass should have the elements installed. Do you know if HondaCA sells the mirror parts or would I need the whole shebang. You've also answered how to get 'em working.

Best to you and your sweetie

HoHoHo ;-)
Same Ho Hos to you and family.

I had the mirrors out when I replaced the covers for the winkers. It looks like you could just buy the mirrors which has the element built into the reverse with the two wires coming off them.

I will contact my local dealer next week and see how much they are.

It should not be a big deal to wire up. The joy of snaking the wires through the door would be same as the instructions for doing the winkers. Do you have switch on dash for rear window heater? If so then I guess just go there to splice into wires.

The carpet is really cheap. I wore a hole by the gas pedal at 666 miles. Ironic huh.
No Locking gas cap: Just got one on-line from Vandergriff Honda in Texas. ( I am in Californina so Bernardi's and College Hill will charge me tax.
Needs a Sixth Gear.
Other than that All is well

Heated mirrors from local dealer are $70 Cdn each plus tax. This is just the glass with the element attached/built in.

Once you learn how to drive it you will change your mind... Keeping the revs up high in the power band and using the steering wheel instead of the throttle to steer with is going to take some getting used to if you've not driven much in a FWD car with a small displacement engine.... After market parts and tweaks are also available to help you out...

You also forgot to add that it drives better in the snow

I would say "amen" to that.

During the last snow fall (5 inches), my FIT (with X-ice snowies) never falters, it kept going, wheels NEVER spin once when going up hill even when the roads have not been ploughed yet.

Reason: our FIT tires are narrower in profile and can cut through uncleared snow easier. However, this will work towards our disadvantage during summer months where our narrower tires will have less contact surface area with the roads compared to normal wider tires. It all depends how we individually see it, glass half full or half empty

I always get a chuckle when I read similar posts. "I NEVER spin but once I did. Well then you can't say you NEVER because you did.

I thought he meant "never spun even once," meaning it had traction the entire time.

I understood what he meant.... I often come across post that I had written earlier that I should have edited to clarify what I was trying to say. When that happens I will then edit and correct my post.

Never say NEVER...... cause most likely you will.

I worked closely with a Dutchman for 20yrs and developed a keen knack of knowing what he meant as opposed to what he said.
The skill continues to come on handy.
His straight line was always, "So just do as I mean, not as I say."

To this day - one of the nicest people I've ever known.

I was just picking nits.

Wily you hae an excuse - just friggin old and losing it - lol

A good saying KC. FinL is old Squarehead. He is not so subtle. He uses his construction English he learnt when he came over.

Goob I was referring to no wheel spin as opposed to doing 180s or worse.

I knew what you meant also Mr. Bill... In have a neighbor that can't read or write worth a damn and has problems with words that is also one of the smartest guys I've ever known.... We were talking about engines the other day and aircraft engines came up and the conversation shifted and became the price of older airplanes and how they increased so much in the last 40 years.... I wasn't at all surprised to hear that he had been a licensed pilot for about that long after I had heard how easily he spoke of the characteristics of different civil aircraft inn relation to one another. He is the guy that all of the new people moving in around here go to when they need to know anything about rural living from septic systems, what to plant, or kind of tractor to buy and where to get it.

Goobers is right... I should improve my grammar to say "I never spun even once during this first snow fall" and this will give me some leeway if my FIT spins during the next snow fall. Thanks guys for the good catches

You can buy the stock armrest from the Jazz on eBay, but it's like $300.
