- oem all season mats are fairly cheap and slide around
- car gets blown around in the wind
- gas pedal not stiff enough
- seats get dirty fast, thin material, cheap door covers
- 'a' pillar can be a bit of a blind spot
- no locking/release gas door
- playing the mpg video game on the dash is distracting
- would prefer solid tone or auto on headlights
- no armrest

Ahhh you'll get used to the quirks that you can't remedy, and learn to love it.... I have to adjust to every car I have ever driven Polaski did a thread on installing a spring on the throttle that I'd be lost without. A Honda Element locking gas cap will fix that problem. I have seat covers on their way from New Zealand right now and a few others have installed neoprene or leather set covers on theirs. I am pretty sure there are arm rest available for your car, I picked up a used JDM console with armrest for mine. The floor mats should be equipped with some type of hardware that holds them in place or they aren't installed right.... I never have had a problem with being blown around but it took me awhile to adjust to the quick handling and responsive steering... Anyway, consider the suggestions and good luck.

Did you/the tech cut the carpet and put the black hooks in the correct holes to hold the mats in place?
- car gets blown around in the wind
Lower it and get 205s, less wind can get under the car and more mechanical grip due to wider tire.
- gas pedal not stiff enough
Spring and S-hook on the pedal. *see the 1st link below*
- seats get dirty fast, thin material, cheap door covers
Clazzio seat covers should do the trick. *2nd link*
- 'a' pillar can be a bit of a blind spot
Lean, you'll be alright.
- no locking/release gas door
The Honda Element locking fuel cap works if I recall correctly.
- playing the mpg video game on the dash is distracting
- would prefer solid tone or auto on headlights
- no armrest
Check the 3rd link below and at H and A accessories, I think they offer armrests there.
Bolded some suggestions in the quote above as well as links on how to stiffen your accelerator petal, seat covers and arm rest.

2010 Sport mt:
tiny digital display, and only one function at a time?
drivers door armrest not deep enough (I'm 6') and kinda hard!
no maplight on base? what's with that? (cheap cheap cheap is what it is...)
how about a proper hinge in the under the back seat hide a box? (do you even know it exists? why does the whole cover come off? why?)
wider drivers armrest (hey! the crv's did it this year...)
pointless spoiler (as in non functional aesthetic bs...but I'm sure others love them...)
weirdo mismatched wipers
watch out for the sharp corner hatch window when the hatch is up!
no mats!

It would seem like some people bought their Fits while under the influence of something. Did they not spend any time test driving or even looking at the lack of features?

Geez people these are little econo boxes, yes even the Sport. Live with it or trade it.

Hey mine is lowered and to be truthful the ride is rough on any bumpy street. However on the smooth hwys at 130-140kph it is a joy. Very little wind buffeting or a lot less than my old '75 18 footer Dodge Coronet.

I have my Clazzios to keep seats clean and a spring mod on my gas pedal.

When I want a more comfortable ride I take out the Caravan.

I feel better now

the only real complaint I have is the headlight range. the hi beams are good, but lows don't reach out far enough for me to be comfortable.

if I could afford some clazzio seat covers I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I really don't like the design of the new fit. I have a 2007 fit sport and think it looks a lot better. True the new one looks more aggresive, but the roof line (probably thanks to the angle of the last window on the side) doesn't look very smooth. Almost like it's an afterthought. My car has a short dashboard from the gauge cluster to the windshield. The new one is HUGE! And instead of making it nice and neat, it looks like they stuck contoured plasticky things all over it. Plus, the feel of the materials has a much cheaper appearance and touch to it. Yes, the new fit is bigger with a slightly more powerful engine so they had to cheapen things to keep the price point. It would also be nice to have better fuel mileage in the new one. Although, I can get over 42mpg in mine so the numbers from the epa on the window stickers, especially under the new rating system, aren't necessarily accurate. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE MY FIT!!! I want it to last forever. I don't know why Honda is making everything look so futuristic. All their vehicles are starting to look like spaceships. WHY? WHY? WHY? A friend of mine just got a Mitsubishi Lancer base model and the dashboard is so clean, simple, nice. No rollercoasters, ski jumps, or other weird curvy, twisty shapes. Volkswagen's have nice clean interiors too. I would much rather have a honda over either of those brands, but I just don't like anything honda has right now. The CR-Z is a joke. It's a hybrid, yet I get better fuel mileage in my fit. I'm just really, really hoping that they make the fit better for the next redesign, which I think is around 2013-2014. I only have 100,000 miles on my fit so it should easily last til then...and then some. Honda, please stop making your cars so ridiculous looking. Just keep 'em clean and solid. If a person wants to customize the crap out of it, then by all means that's their choice. At least promise me this....Stop asking Flash Gordon for design advice. I'm just really not interested in a Honda rocket sled.

This thread is about YOUR fit, not someone elses...
I suggest you go to the First Gen area and have a b-fit with your friends there...

When I bought my 01 Civic, I thought it looked unbelievably shuttlish, with it's short hood and long windshield, and rounded roof-rails.

The 94 Accord was nuts... I mean, they took the preludes lines and added a pair of doors in the back! Insane. These cars all look mundane now. The GE looks only vaguely different than the GD, mostly in the A-pillars and headlights (to my eyes, the GD looks like a scaled down Suzuki Aerio SX) - it's an extremely evolutionary design.

Other than some missing features and tighter proportions, I agree that the GD interior looks nicer. The dash is very clean looking, almost German in appearance. The center stack and head unit are more attractive by a long shot. The GE's dashboard is functional, but looks like a 01-05 Civic that is suffering from end-stage syphilis, stretched across the contours of the Revenge of the Ellipse dash of the 1996 Taurus. But definitely functional, and I'm not going to piss and moan about interior design in a cheapie car with carpet made from recycled happy meal toys. It does everything it should.

Heck, speaking of the Taurus, the original Taurus looked like something from a sci-fi time-travel to the future script. It looks stuffy and very conservative compared to the vehicles that followed.

Good to hear you made it to to the six figure mark with minimal issues. I hope to get the same service out of mine.

attitudes

If I have an opinion about my fit and/or the current fit, I think it applies here. I've driven both (obviously mine quite a bit more) and have an opinion about both. I find that on my 2007 fit sport there are very few things that I don't like. The interior room basically stands alone in its class. The materials are pretty solid overall. The car could use a little more zip from zero, but actually moves pretty well for the horsepower it has. Fuel economy is very good. I wish it had come with a dead pedal. I ordered a third party one, but it didn't feel right so I returned it. I ordered the import armrest (best money I ever spent). My opinions here are directly related to this topic so I posted here. However, I think that people with attitudes don't fit here. Unless you're the moderator of this site and feel someone is posting inappropriate things or abusing what people would consider standard behavior in a forum, then people should really curb their attack. I'm not going to mention any names. But I will say that this could possibly be in response to a post made by someone who thinks that bean curd deserves a sequel.

Your response really isn't much better.

That other person, Tofu2... whom you so "courteously" chose not to mention, but blatantly refer to is right... the question was... what don't you like about YOUR Fit. So, why not put that there initially to begin with?

Okay, you don't like plenty of things about the 2nd gen fit... it only goes back to... it's not the Fit that you currently own. Last I checked, the topic is about the car you own and operate, not about your opinion of the vast majority of OTHER cars out there.

If I have an opinion about my fit and/or the current fit, I think it applies here.
Everyone else has put the effort to posting "just" about the car they own... you chose not to, then say that someone "attacked" you when they called you on it (okay, not in the nicest way)... and pretend to take the highroad with the whole BS about "not naming names."

You have just as bad an attitude as you claim he has.

As for my attitude in this post... heh, I've been worse.

for shits and giggles... here's a simple edit of your post you could've easily put.

And guess what... it would actually be 100% relevant and Tofu2 wouldn't be able to complain about it (at least about relevance).

Hey guys, new to this site and have been lurking awhile. I tried to go through all 60 pages of this but it's a bit time consuming. Do any of you have a work around for taller people to get the seats to go back further then the stocks allow? Thanks!

I agree about the passenger side mirror, my girlfriend hates it and always has to adjust the rear view to see her purdy little face, oh well.
What else... I wish the 07 models had the volume/skip button on the steering wheel, and my drivers side seat seems to make squeaky noises when I move around...it gets annoying. Also, if my fit had a stock sun roof, that would be sick! I love it though, i've thought about getting something else, but I plan on fixing it up and making her my own, I think i'm gonna keep it.

Headlights - Insufficient Forward Illumination

According to Consumer Reports, the quality of the Fit's Headlights scored poorly in their review, here's a quote: "The headlights' low beams give insufficient forward illumination. The high beams project farther but are dimmer close in."

Can any owners of the Fit confirm this review?

Here's the link to the review: Car Model Review - Consumer Reports

I was able to see further in front of me with both my headlights and my brights in my magnum rt but i still like the car. Come to think of it i might actually be able to see further with the brightsin the fit than in the magnum.

Its because the headlights come aimed lower. there are adjustment screws that you can turn to raise the aim a bit. You'll find that you can then see a little further down the road.

I guess my problem (at least initially) with the headlights was that I had a higher sitting vehicle - a Ford Ranger XLT - so it probably gave a little better forward illumination just because the lights sat higher.

It's not so much of a problem now, I'm fairly used to the headlights on the Fit now. I do plan on putting brighter bulbs in though.
